Hopefully we get this.

The OG Dead Space was fantastic. The DS Remake was also fantastic a few years ago, and the fact that the game didn't sell enough to green light a Dead Space 2 Remake still pisses me off today.

With the Dead Space remake being a phenomenal return I don't think EA needs him at all.

What EA needs is sales of Dead Space projects, because the remake underperformed and that's the reason the 2nd game's remake is indefinitely put on hold.

I want a lot of new fucking stuff from EA instead of the Battlefield, Apex Legends and EA Sports bullshit:

Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun Remaster/Remake, Command Conquer Red Alert 2 Remaster/Remake, Command & Conquer Renegade 2 (Set during Tiberian Sun), Command & Conquer Red Alert 4, Command & Conquer Generals 2, Ultima X, A new Sim City, A new Wing Commander, Populous 4, Dungeon Keeper 3, Titanfall 3, Dead Space 2 Remake and Dead Space 4, Burnout 4...

You even have people/studios that would totally do it: Petroglyph already said they would do remasters of Tib Sun and Red Alert 2. Larian (Swen Vincke) said he would totally do Ultima if given the chance. Glen wants to make a new Dead Space. And I bet if you ask the people at Three Fields entertainment if they want to make a new, proper Burnout, they'd say yes.

Dead space 4 I think is an easy decision, bring back the USG Ishimura, this mother fucker

The original was such a classic

I heard Cronos: A New Dan had similar vibe to Dead Space

Callisto Protocol combat was really bad. They made the system for 1 on 1 combat, but they always throw several enemies to you

I'd rather EA outsource Dead Space 4 to Bloober.

I personally really enjoyed Callisto whilst acknowledging the shortcomings. For those moaning about the melee you can play it as a shooter on second playthrough with upgraded assault rifle etc. Would be pleased with a sequel or something similar from Glen.

Normally I would say doing a sequel to an IP that's been dormant for that long is risky but in this day and age that's normal development time for Western studios.

I wish him the best of luck. He's clearly fighting for it and has been for some time. He probably couldn't borrow much from Dead space's foundation and carry it into Callisto without EA slamming a lawsuit/C&D square in his face.

Hope it works out and he gets his chance to formulate a proper un-EA'ed vision for DS4.

EA is done for. We don't know how many months they still have, but instead of asking them to let him make DS4, Glen should focus on buying the IP outright instead. Hopefully all great studios at EA are already thinking of running from the sinking ship to find a much better place and work environment to work on games they really want to make.

Respawn, DICE, Motive... it's time, use the moment, while you still can.

If others were able to manage under the same circumstances, then yeah those are excuses.

Deadlines being moved up, COVID, and mass resignations weren't just unique to Striking Distance.

This shit happened at other devs, and pretty much across every other industry.

Name a game that faced all the same circumstances and came out fine.
It wasn't just COVID, or just the deadline moved up, it was those and more, all at once.

Callisto Protocol sold 2 million in its first two months, and ended up selling 5-6 million in 2 years.

Silent Hill 2 remake sold 2,5 million in its first years and was considered a success, because Konami didn't had such ridiculous sales expectations as Krafton and EA, that wanted 5 million on the first year for Callisto Protocol and Dead Space remake.

Callisto Protocol has its flaws, for sure, but it also has its strenghts. A sequel could have worked on fixing those flaws and keep the good stuff. We got nothing instead.

Dead Space is a lot like the Silent Hill series in that it's got this big online following, and the first entry was a modest enough success to greenlight sequels, but the rest of the series just sort of limped along in terms of sales. I can't really blame EA for not making more when it just isn't going to sell. Maybe Glen can convince them to license the IP to his studio via an EA Partners arrangement and split the costs.

I've just started playing the series and I'm in DS2 right now, awesome game and I'm having a good time playing it. It sounds like the creator knew about Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Borderlands, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Doom all along, the series surely didn't came from nothing.

Is it just me or is it kinda crazy that Schofield gets so much hate for Callisto Protocol while Motive gets so much praise for Dead Space Remake. One creates one of the greatest survival horror franchises of all time while the other just "remakes" said franchise in UE5. Does not compute. Give Glen the green light, sheesh.
