[Dealabs] Silent Hill 2 Remake will be on PS Plus Extra later this month

The way i just got Alan Wake 2 last month and now Silent Hill 2 Remake. 2 games i wanted to buy and won't have to now.

Best deal in gaming! (unironically right now it might be lmao)

Huge if true. Already have it on PS and PC but super happy for those who don't, it would be an amazing addition to PS Plus.

Alan Wake II in September, Silent Hill 2 Remake in October.

Is a price increase incoming?
If anything when a price increase happens the offers are shitty. Plus, these deals are made years in advance. I'd bet SH2 Remake on PS Plus was already set when the had that contract ready for a timed console exclusive. It's not a surprise this is happening a year after its original release.

I have this already, but this would be an amazing month for the subscribers, if it turns out to be true.

Certainly the best deal in gaming.

This is great for many, but I do think they really need to sweeten the pot in some way for the heavy spenders, ie those who typically already just buy the games they are actually interested in on release day/week. It's rare there's a big game added to ps+ that I don't already own, for me the best months are when there's a day one high quality indie like the blue prince or Dave the diver.

So you always buy the games you want and you also pay for PS Plus? That's the type of PS user Sony doesn't need to worry about, no offence. I get what you mean though, but speaking from a marketing point of view, i'm kind of right. They don't need to pull you in in any way.
About the smaller titles, they usually have lots of those as well.

So in a month we will have TLOU2, Alan Wake 2 and Silent Hill 2 Remake in the extra, pretty good.
Wasn't Alan Wake 2 on monthly games? Didn't know it was also on Extra. Pretty cool actually.

edit: Is the remaster of the first Alan Wake worth it in 2025? I never played it back then but i want to before Alan Wake 2.

I'm playing this now on PC, about to leave the hospital I think. Good stuff but these big building sections go on for too long imo.

Alan Wake 2 is also in Essential Plus, the first Alan Wake is a good game, I would try it.

Already own and platinum'd it, good for those who haven't.

My main interest for this is seeing how it ports to other consoles. The Performance mode on base PS5 is trash, bigger VRR window will make it work much better.

Yeah, I mean, you're not wrong, it would just be nice if they made it more valuable for gamers like myself, but I totally get why they wouldn't 🤣, and yeah it's through ps+ that I've played experienced many of the best games in the last few years, as much of the most interesting stuff is happening with indies vs aaa these days. I don't think I'd have ever thought to buy a pixel art game about fishing and cooking, but the trailer did a good job of selling Dave the diver, and it was free, turns out it was great. Others like blue prince I would have bought straight away tho if it wasn't included.

Damn I recently bought this on sale. Haven't even touched it.

In future any single player game that doesn't rocket in sales will probably end up on these services

Posts like this make me realize how i don't take advantage of Ps plus the best way i can ahah.

The game is probably reaching its limits in terms of sales legs. Last count I saw earlier in the year was 2 million so it's probably at about 2.5 mil by now. Hopefully being on Plus gets more and more people into the series and ensures the remake of the original is an even bigger success. The game is excellent.

As a side note Silent Hill has always sold poorly. When that 2 million number was released by Konami, total series sales were reported as 11.5 million. A single Resident Evil game outsells those numbers.

Tbf i think the remake of the first one ll sell a lot worse SH1, they ll need to pull off a miracle to make this SH1 remake

They made the right move remaking SH2 first. It was the one with the most sales potential to resurrect the series. But I agree SH1 will be the harder game to remake. It also makes sense for them to remake SH3 after it, as both games are connected in many ways.

Masterpiece!

I'd post the Family Guy meme but it's a spoiler.
