Sting randomly not having face paint in TNA has always confused me. Usually when you're a masked or facepainted wrestler you do it for all appearances. Sting will have facepaint one week and then none the next, then have it on again with no explanation.

More than almost anyone else (except perhaps Kane), Sting is one that should never have his real name spoken on TV. Not simply because "Steve" is not a very intimidating name, but because he's "the man called Sting", it's a distinct air of mystique that's supposed to maintained at all times or the gimmick falls apart. I know that more applies to classic WCW Crow Sting, but has he changed THAT much, really?
He's still Sting, with the make-up, ec, these days? I don't watch TNA so I don't know.
Imagine if at WM28, they showed Kane walking up to Undertaker in the locker room, both with full Kane Resurrected and Phenom gear on, then Kane goes "Oh hi, Mark, what's up?", followed by "Not much Glen, just getting ready for the match" and they have a conversation about the weather outside the arena.
They did personal angles with Sting in TNA too.
I actually don't mind Sting not having the face paint as GM because he's supposed to be a serious character now instead his insane Joker Sting character. Sting also isn't wrestling as a GM. If he was a wrestling GM, I could see him wearing the face paint. This is front office Sting, face paint ain't in the dress code.

Also, something occurred to me while browsing youtube a while ago and most definitely not listening to any particular piece of theme music, is that the fear I've seen some people express about Zack Ryder, is that the WWE will misuse him in the opposite way they've been doing so far, and make him like Cena.
Way overexposed, over pushed, etc, ruining his original appeal and poplarity. Ryder has earned a push, but it should be in moderation like any good push.
However, I dont need to ever worry about him become like Cena, for the simple reason that, unlike Cena, I will never tire of his theme song. You can end RAW with Radio all you like.

I think you're overreacting about this. Dude's old and isn't wrestling nearly as much, so crazy man and anti-hero wouldn't work. He's doing a good job of still being entertaining in his current authority role. His face paint is his war paint. Wouldn't make sense for him to have it on while he's in control. It's bad enough he still wears the gloves.
You'd feel much better not knowing. Seriously. :|
