Deep Down releasing "after summer"; Beta delayed

In other news, this has sealed the deal and delayed purchase of PS4. Can't justify the system just for inFamous and FFXIV at launch.

i believe they said that the game would be 60 frames. dont quote me on that tho.

Yup

The quality showcased in the PlayStation Meeting in February was reached considerably quickly, and things like 60 frames per seconds are relatively easy to achieve.

Obviously since the game has been delayed, we should take his answers with a grain of salt.

Did you think I was being serious?

No, but i didn't want to extend it given that the start of the whole matter was already resolved.

:)

Konami and Capcom delivering the disappointment in large portions this week.

Not that I was ecstatic about a $40 demo and F2P Souls game, but still... I know that some of my friends set their watches to large AAA outings, so I'm bummed for them.

Maaaaan, I was so excited for this, but the MMO news really has me bummed. I had hoped for a Dragon's Dogma 2, which would be a day one buy for me. I'm also a bit worried that it won't really last that long, being a console-oriented online game, since those tend not to have really long life-cycles, especially when they're from Japan.

I can't afford to pick up a PS4 for another year or two at present rate, and I worry that Deep Down will be DOA on its servers when I'm actually able to play it.

Is anyone as worried about this as I am?

Geez. Capcom needs to get their shit together.

Edit: Jesus. Like I kicked a grandmother or something. Its just disheartening to see all these delays. Thats all.

In my experience, it's best to keep your head down and don't say bad things about Sony, because if you do, well:

One of the dumbest posts I've seen all day! You must be proud.

That happens.

Obviously, I wish it weren't the case. Sony didn't get Watch Dogs, their most touted exclusive, on release. Their launch titles haven't been great, their launch window is about as empty as Microsoft on a busy year (though, apparently, not this year), Capcom's slipping for them now, DriveClub's MIA... on the game front, the PS4's really been kinda a bummer. So yeah, Sony really, really needs to up their game, regardless of what the fans say. You were right with the original post, it's just that... you get responses like that.

I really hope they're able to help third parties and get their games in order. I want this to go well for them. That's good for everyone.

Watch_Dogs is as far from exclusive as could be. It was slated for six platforms.

There's a lot to blame Sony for. SOE delays, Driveclub, and though it's neither right/wrong, Sony's decision to put out so much Ps3 content in 2013 that it weakened their next-gen output at launch.

But stuff like this? Might as well blame Sony for Destiny delay, since it was clearly aimed to launch earlier.

In my experience, it's best to keep your head down and don't say bad things about Sony, because if you do, well:

Spare me your bullshit. You DO know that blaming Sony for Capcom's delay is stupid. Do not try to pull a straw man argument on this one.

You mean DriveClub, yeah? DC is an exclusive Sony title. It may have seemed like WD was exclusive due to the major marketing dollars Sony was shelling out linking it to their PS4 launch, but that bitch is coming out on errrrrrthang, even the Wii U.

lol I don't think you need to worry about that. Sony is fine. The games slated for this year are fine.

I thought he edited it before your post! #ManDownDoNotKick ;)
During my post. I usually shuffle around on my phone before clicking the post button. It took 3 minutes to write my post because that's the amount of time between my post and his edit. I'd edit my post but he quoted it and that makes any efforts towards correcting the inaccuracies irrelevant.

Boop.
And has looked awful.
Worse and worse implies it was shown multiple times. Not once. Saying, it looked awful, singular, would be a more accurate statement.

And no, people are just tired of stupid mistakes being made just so someone can have an excuse to jump down the throat of whatever entity they may or may not have on their agenda. And the earlier the post is in the thread the more eyes it's gonna get, the perfect place for one liner drive-bys. The is GAF, opinions are aloud, being factually wrong isn't.

Yes, the game will be 720p and 60fps. Which makes me excited because the IQ and graphical effects should be off the freaking chart I'd they aren't targeting 1080p. I want it to blow my mind. Where are those gifs? Though, March - June is looking increasingly bleak. Good time to clear the backlogs!

For traditional AAA titles, maybe. Honestly though, as someone whose PC is not near good enough to play most of the titles coming out on that platform, I am crazy excited about the indies that we'll see for PS4 during that window. And yes, the last 4 months have been crazy in terms of quality content (imo) for PS+ subscribers on PS3. Backlogs will be tackled.

I was so excited for this game, until i heard its going to be free-to-play. Just sell me the full game capcom, not this microtransaction horseshit.

We need release dates for april, may, june , july and August. I have no idea when anything is coming during that stretch. Sony could flood with indie games. But I need release dates. We know about elder scrolls, final fantasy 14, amazing spiderman 2, mlb the show. Is there anything more?

Wonder why so many titles keep getting delayed and why we have little to no information for games after March?

We still have very little information on some games releasing in March. Seriously, Titanfall and Infamous are both out in six weeks and it feels like they've been keeping their cards way too close to their chest.

Why people moaning about delays?

I'd rather a game is delayed rather than rushed. Developers can't seem to win. People bitch when they delay and when they rush out a product.

Sometimes its not the same people who complain about both, no matter which scenario it ends up being, one crowd will be unsatisfied.

I don't understand the ruckus about delays, its not like we don't have other distractions to indulge in. Rushed products, however, is a different story.

didn't even know this was a "delay", I wasn't expecting it sooner. Its fine by me whenever they release, the game looks gorgeous, and its at 60fps too! o_O

sony has a shitty launch this year IMO. all im looking foorward to is the order the show and infamous

well both The Order and Infamous have GOTY potential imo, so those games combined with all the third party games and Indies is gonna make for a great year on PS4.

Not too worried about the delay. I thought it was Japan only for now and unless they where going to release it in NA around that time, I wasn't expecting to see it for awhile. I'm not too worried about having nothing to play if I get a PS4 when Infamous releases. I kind of expect droughts during the first year and if there are any, I have a backlog to tackle and there are some JRPG releases around that time too.

I don't know, I don't really get the fuss over delays. It's disappointing but I'd rather they delay it than release it as is and it not turn out good.

Child of Light, Bound by Flame, Octodad, Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Secret Ponchos, Galak-Z, The Witness, Watch_Dogs (I'm betting April or May), Daylight, Lego: The Hobbit, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, Hotline Miami 2, etc...

I trust the indies to hit their release targets (Q2/Q3) but the bigger titles not so sure unless they have confirmed dates like Child of Light and The Hobbit.

Yep... I was thinking the exact same thing. It's a good thing I have my Vita, 3DS and Wii U to tide me over though.

Wonder why so many titles keep getting delayed and why we have little to no information for games after March?

Two reasons:

1.) Every game is expected to deliver the moon, so it takes a while to get everything together, especially the first go around (either if you're a new IP or if you're massively expanding the scope of your franchise).

2.) Working on the next consoles to make something that isn't a current-gen up-port can take extra time until you have all your technology going and a base set of art assets to work with, which then significantly speeds up development on future sequels.

Like let's take Dragon Age: Inquisition. The game was originally March 2013, then Fall 2013, and now Fall 2014. However, it also contains an area that is bigger than all of the landmass in Origins and DA2 combined and that's just one zone at significantly higher graphical fidelity to boot.
