I love that this man got his levels all correct for recording, output and upload to youtube, this video looks amazing, the black level is so perfect. I also love the physics interactions in these games, like the arrow bit.
Did anyone notice in one of the latest gameplay trailers he knocks a zambie backwards and the ragdoll smashes just the corner off the pew? It was sweet. I just started Dragon Quest XI last night and smashing pumpkins is very fun and reminiscient of Souls games.

Game looks great, but that woke character creation system stands out. "Body type A/B" instead of gender, default black guy in a game with a European setting, female head presets on male bodies.

It's beautiful, but the core game is still Demon's Souls with all it's flaws. I expect that some issues will be fixed, but I don't see it going over 85 meta.

The main problem with DeS was that it felt old and janky being on PS3. The same game rebuilt from the ground up should fix that IMO. I expect high 80s.

Could be! But Souls games gained a lot of popularity so Im thinking that the game would review better today than it did back in the day.

He's using the 4k 30fps cinematic mode. You can lower the resolution for 60fps if you want.

Compared to later Soulsborne titles, DeS gameplay is left in the dust. For the veterans, it's hard to overlook when we're used to titles like Bloodborne, Sekiro, and DS3.
That being said, DeS already has better gameplay than like 90% of games in existence lol.

So here we go. If modern "journalists" are beating this game, then you know that secretly Bluepoint did nerf it in some way. I'm hoping to see a lot of lines like "You can tell the gameplay is dated because I couldn't even beat the first boss!" or "this game would have benefited greatly from an easy mode", or "I asked my mom to beat this boss for me because I couldn't do it, and I feel fine!".
My biggest complaint about what we've seen is that I hate the art direction that turned every building from a run down functional building into a gothic church, and every enemy from a pitiful lost soul into a hulking demon beast out of WoW.

The "parry" animation looks really jank in 2020, if you get the riposte right it skips a ton of frames of animation and draws the enemy to where it needs to be for the quick kill... I know IT'S PART OF THE STYLE OF THE GAME, but things could have been fixed to look better.

You can't ask someone to take a time from NeoGAF when you're the one that most complain about this place, mainly on TLOUS2 threads.
