Demon's Souls review gameplay

They remove the labels so no one has to feel left out. Normal people don't have a problem with this. One looks like a traditional female's both, and the other a man's. You are clearly insecure about this, to the point that you want to shit up a thread about this nonsense. Most people will just pick a body type and move on.

You act like the devs have committed some historic crime against humanity, when if you look through this thread, you're the oddball making a mountain out of a molehill. The devs aren't the problem, it's you. You can't come to terms with the changing world around you, and have tried to dress up your insecurities in some bullshit nonsense about politics and whatever the fuck you're carrying on about. Who do you think you're fooling?

Congrats, you've mastered the use of manipulative language. You're totally not a narcissist, you "feel left out" for not being pandered to.

And also the opening character is randomly selected.

This is good to know. In my defense watched 4 different streams and it did not seem to be the case.

I am satisfied that the honest reader of the thread can see that I am right on principle, so I will leave it here and rest my case.

Every souls games had ethnic choices at character creation. There's usually a preset menu with different characters from different regions of the fictive world, with different body color and faces, including asian or black, it's not new at all.
Please stop degrading this thread in another silly racist contest, it's unbelliveable :messenger_sad_relieved:

Am I stupid for getting PS5 at launch, but not this? 🤔

Don't know. Do you like bastard hard games that look incredible? If so, yes you are.

Ok let me say that I heard great things about the original Demon's Souls, then was very disappointed with it when I played it. The gameplay was annoying and slow. I got the impression more that it was sloppy design rather than anything intentional that made it so hard. What I see of this does NOT look like that.

So of what I can remember (it's weird that I remember this so many years later) I was trudging along for a good amount of time, then fell in a ditch. I went to that death realm or whatever, and was shocked when I revived that I was all the way back to the beginning. Just one misstep and all that is lost.

I didn't give up yet though. I did it again, this time being extra careful and got past that part, ok? I get to a point where there's a split in the path, one going up and outside into the sun, one going down. Well let's go outside! Looks nice out here... Until I see this massive dragon. Dragon sees me, wakes up, breathes fire on me, and boom I'm dead in one hit! Back to the beginning!

At that point I turned it off and just never played it again. I've never played any of the other Souls games either.

I do like a challenging game though, and I got really into the Suda51 game Let It Die which people say is similar combat. So anyways I am really on the fence about this. People act like it's the killer app for PS5 and really it is the only exclusive at this point so I wonder if I should go for it. Thanks for any feedback!!

Dude.....it's a fantasy world with dragons and 3 eyed monsters! It's not a documentary or based on reality in any way.
You know you're far gone when you can't distinguish between real and imaginary. I wasted enough time commenting on his ignorance, let him continue to look for stuff to confirm his personal bias with. SMH

Sorry. Didn't see the Mod clean up. Can't wait to play the remake as well.

...I don't think it's the game for you chief.

The final boss is a giant ditch.

These games are a trap for me, it looks fun and I buy it then it's to hard and controls to hard and I give up and sell it. I think it's an age thing, as I get older I don't like hard games, can't remember all the buttons and moves.

The pre order stuff doesn't impress me all that much, to be honest. Not that bothered that I didn't buy the deluxe edition. The ritual blade and the helmet are okay, but not twenty quid more okay...

If I can find a PS5 before the end of the year then I'll just be getting the standard edition.

The pre-order bonus stuff always becomes available for everyone at a later date and by that stage it will cost far less than the current added price.

Funnily enough, I'm the opposite. When I was a whippersnapper, I liked fast paced stuff, but as I'm an old fart now, the slow pace of Souls suits me fine. As for moves, there really aren't that many at all, if you avoid magic.

Yeah, Vaati's showing it off in the nexus (you might have seen it too) and it all looks okay, but as you say, it'll all pop up later along the way anyway.

Classic filter doesn't really match PS3 at all. Just desaturates and lighten a bit I think. So lovers of piss brown will have to do it on their own in the settings.

None of the filters did a thing for me. Won't be using any of them.

The amount of fresh animations is fantastic though. I'm usually a bog standard sword and board kind of guy, but I can see me using way more ripostes and backstabs than before, and varying weapons more.

EDIT: Whops wrong thread lol

Sony would be smart to acquire Bluepoint as new additions to PlayStation Studios. I can see them doing some phenomenal work on PS Studios' proprietary engines.
Japan Studio x Bluepoint collaborations would get me excited for just about anything, especially if it were to be an original IP.

Barely played any magic builds in the original, so I'm going to give it a run to start with this time.

So there will be no way for me... an european(poland) who did not preordered to buy ps5 this year?
There is absolutely no hope going to media markt next week?

I am watching vaati stream now. The game kiiinda lost the "from" feel but it looks amazing. Surely a system seller. I would love DS2 remade like this (vanilla, not sotfs)

I'm in the same boat. Left it too late because I was hoping the "PC version" would resurface but that seems to be dead in the water right now along with the Bloodborne PC rumours.

Hoping for a miracle on launch day or just after. Will grab the first digital edition console at retail price that I can find.

This game has weakened me.

Is it possible to change the camera so it's closer to the character? like in the first gameplay showcase of the game? Any footage where this is shown?

You wont like it lol

So, no additional features like the ones offered in Spider-Man MM? Oh...

60fps mode is a must then.
The game is design around for 60FPS and to me its absolutely right call, I prefer smoother FPS to make the combat feel better rather than eye candy.

That HUD man... change it fast.
I'm guessing the HUD in original was low resolution so they had to remade it but I still agree, I'm really not fan of the new HUD.

Looks top tier next gen graphics but that's about it. Has all the problems of the original and no single new thing. At least should've limited the amount of grass you can carry, it's lifegems/grass issue all over again.

I think they should've involved Fromsoft to get some new areas or at least some fresh stuff in the game. Looking at it right now it's for people that haven't played it.

High quality videos from both modes:
