Why is a good chemistry with zendaya a plus?Sadly I didn't get a callback, but I think it will be Josh O'Connor this time. He ticks all the boxes.
English. Good actor. Scrubs up well, but not a male model type. Has acted with Daniel Craig (Wake Up Dead Man). Good chemistry with Zendaya (Challengers).

They're not Bond Girls, they're 'co-agents'.Why is a good chemistry with zendaya a plus?

Maybe not Benedict Wong specifically, but you could sell me on a Hong Kong or even Indian James Bond, though the name itself starts to break down a bit with some of those ethnicities. Certainly more plausible than an afro-Caribbean James Bond as I just don't see the same background working, there are virtually ZERO afro-caribs (and only slightly more of other non-white ethnicities) as Naval Officers and that is, IMHO, one of the most fundamental qualities to keep for Bond.
Why make James Bond movie if don't want James Bond to be in it?Why would a James Bond movie need any sort of realism in this area?
I was just pointing out that the amount of Naval Officers in reality who have a certain trait is a weird thing to pick and choose for realism when talking about a completely unrealistic fictional setting. Why make James Bond movie if don't want James Bond to be in it?
I don't understand why folks are so willing to die on this hill. Either you like JAMES BOND as he is, or you actually DON'T LIKE James Bond and should just f off and go watch Twilight or whatever the hell it is you DO enjoy. Rather than corrupt something you don't like and debase it, ruining it for the fans, just go out and CREATE something NEW that meets all the checkboxes.....oh yeah, that shit never works....
Nothing stopping him from being a quadruple amputee, having trisomy 21, a dwarf, a helium filled balloon, or a rolling tire either.I was just pointing out that the amount of Naval Officers in reality who have a certain trait is a weird thing to pick and choose for realism when talking about a completely unrealistic fictional setting.
There's nothing stopping James Bond from being a black Naval Officer in a movie.
And yet there are black officers in the Royal Navy. So you throwing out them being a quadruple amputee totally makes sense here. Same exact amount of realism.Nothing stopping him from being a quadruple amputee, having trisomy 21, a dwarf, a helium filled balloon, or a rolling tire either.
The point, for those of us who actually give a shit about Bond, is that he has a certain background that informs SO MUCH of what he does, so draw from folks that could match that background. For a variety of reasons there are few to no black british senior naval officers, a core component to being Bond (as is being human, able bodied, tall, suave, etc) and there are HUNDREDS of men who do fit the background criteria, so why shove all them aside to reach for a unicorn....unless its the agenda you want to serve, not Bond and an audience.
It's been a while since i threw out the data, its on one if these bond threads I'm sure, but of the 2.5-3% non white royal navy officers, 2/3s or more were indian/Asian.And yet there are black officers in the Royal Navy. So you throwing out them being a quadruple amputee totally makes sense here. Same exact amount of realism.
There are very few non-white officers, that is true.. that goes for Asians as well, so quite odd you were totally Ok with that idea.
You are exaggerating these statistics. It's more like 2.5:1 Asians:Afro-Carribean. If you are going to throw around "It's just statistics, rally" you should be accurate at least lolIt's been a while since i threw out the data, its on one if these bond threads I'm sure, but of the 2.5-3% non white royal navy officers, 2/3s or more were indian/Asian.
Despite what the BBC would have you think, blacks in England are a very small fraction, outnumbered 3-4:1 by asians. I've gone over my rationale before, but the BLUF is that I think if you MUST go non white, you can get a better agent from Asian origins to do Bond things, mix in the circles Bond operates in, and honor the British legacy better from Hong kong or India than the caribbean.
It's just statistics, really
Maybe they'll adapt the new book
Go make one then, see how it does. I suspect it will struggle, MIGHTILY, because outside of a tiny handful of folks that just want to see Bond burn, no one sees Bond in that way and it won't feel authentic. You are exaggerating these statistics. And in the end.. there are black Royal Navy officers.. So why would you not be able to suspend your disbelief for a Bond movie?
No fucking way that's real.
This is the same energy and I bet one of them wrote it.
Because Bond is British, not African-British.You are exaggerating these statistics. It's more like 2.5:1 Asians:Afro-Carribean. If you are going to throw around "It's just statistics, rally" you should be accurate at least lol

You son of a bitch![]()
Hormones shaken and not stirred
Looks like Elon Musk!
No they aren't thank god, but that passage put this in my brain lol.Are they still doing this? It feels sooooo 2020, especially since almost every "this land..." statement falls flat because the tribe they know about was just the LAST tribe that took it before civilization came. Same with the "I'm a woman with brown hair, asian features, and a red shirt" stuff, who was that EVER for?
I refuse to believe he doesn't regret it. Any woman who transitions shows outward signs and I just believe she was caught in the hype. I just don't believe this happened naturally shitty as that sounds. You son of a bitch
Because Bond is British, not African-British.
Like I said it's not what I want, I was just remarking on your logic about Asian vs Afro Caribbean.Go make one then, see how it does. I suspect it will struggle, MIGHTILY, because outside of a tiny handful of folks that just want to see Bond burn, no one sees Bond in that way and it won't feel authentic.
It unfortunately is, it comes from a book that was released about 2-3 years ago. Apparently it's not even a tip of the iceberg of what author of this book shoved into itNo fucking way that's real.
This is the same energy and I bet one of them wrote it.
Do you want people pushing an hot rod into their hears everytime bond open his mouth?

That must have been an April Fools gag.Amazon should have fired him as soon as he made this suggestion.
That must have been an April Fools gag.
It is a joke from a Wong fan account. That must have been an April Fools gag.
I genuinely think he'd be a fantastic Bond. He's got everything you could want for the job, and he's not hugely well known for other roles. Anyone suggesting actors who are already pretty famous is probably well off the mark.He looks kind of like the model in the new game. So he's perfect/horrible.
I'd rather not lol.
But I think I've got some faith in Denis? I just can't think of any modern actors off the top of my head who're either British, Irish or Australian who could pull it off. So they should probably go with someone pretty much unknown, who's hopefully much more Sean Connery and less Tom Holland lol
e: oh, apart from Henry Cavill. He'd make a good James Bond imo.
