Destiny 2 currently has 1.2 Million concurrent Players

Whats incredible is that BF1 still has 86k on the PS4 with another 140k on PC And X1.

not sure how big of a drop it is from last weekend but its usually around 60k during weekdays.

Also something worth noting that I found really impressive. The Trophy completion percentage for hitting Level 20 in the game is already over 50%. That takes probably a good 8-10ish hours or so, so not only is the game being played by a lot of people, a lot of people are putting a good chunk of time into it

I'm really glad they didn't do a bunch of shit achievements/trophies. There's 13 and they're all very obtainable

WOW. That's an insane number already! Who knows how much higher it'll get in the coming weeks and months too.

Is this shaping up to be the biggest game on the planet? What kind of numbers do LoL and the other heavy hitters pull nowadays?

Never got into Destiny myself but I'm happy for the fans, and kudos to Bungie.

As someone who didn't enjoy the first game, I haven't bought the sequel, yet. My friends list on Live is insane though, everyone else is!

No games like LoL and others do massive numbers. 7+ million concurrent users.

That said over 1.2 million in less than a week on sale is truly insane numbers. It isn't the largest game in the world, but it very well may be the biggest console launch of 2017. I've been thinking it has a good shot of beating COD this year for a while

Anyone remember launch CCU of Battlefield 1? I know there was a GAF thread about it, but I can't find it.

These games drop, not rise after the initial burst. Biggest game? God no. Lol is probably doing 10 million at a time.

and I'm sad to not be one of that 1.2 million
Honestly this, wish I liked the beta more. But the movement & gunplay just wasn't for me, felt too clunky & heavy at times.

Good to see the game doing very well though

First of all a banned link.

And secondly we never got concurrent stats for D1 as far as I'm aware, especially not within the first weekend on sale

Not true for Destiny. Bungie mentioned it had a higher player count a full year after release with the Taken King, not at its launch. This 1.2 million won't be Destiny 2's peak number

Curious to see how this does in the long term with word of mouth being so much more positive this time around.

I had low expectations and hated the demo, but the final product is a blast.

The problem at the moment is my son won't let me play....

Holy shit I didn't know LoL pulled numbers that high. Yea I don't think Destiny's going to hit that anytime soon, nevermind haha.

Though it will be interesting to see how much of a boost Destiny gets from the PC market. I suspect it'll be smaller than the console base, but I'm not sure by how much.

Such nonsense. Pvp kept the original alive. I don't know why the bulk of gaf likes to pretend otherwise.

Because it isn't true. Destiny 1 had more PvE players than PvP players every single day. You could see the number of daily users on Destiny Tracker and PvE always without exception had more players.

PvP is indeed huge though and a major aspect of the game

I'm proud not to be....j/k

Looking forward to checking it out next month when it comes to PC. Between this and PUBG it's cool to see 2 games take very different paths to massive success.

I played a lot of pve so I could get better items for pvp. Farmed omnigul hundreds of times just for a grasp.

I gotta buy this thing soon but I gotta finish uncharted and nioh first or I'd feel terrible for adding more stuff to my backlog

Deserved, its a masterpiece IMO.

It's certainly fantastic.

There's just a few things I need them to fix in some of the early updates:

- The terrible shader system. It should work as it does in Destiny 1.
- Let us equip an emote to each d-pad button. I can't believe they didn't add that after three years of complains in the original.
- Add ship and sparrow collections back to the game. No idea why they got rid of those.

And it would be nice if they offered some optional matchmaking for replaying story missions but that's minor at this point.

I'm just impressed the servers are holding up nicely.

Other than a little que right after the game unlocked I haven't had a single issue. Crucible takes a bit longer than I'd like but I'm sure that will be fixed soon.
