Destiny has over 9.5 million registered users [Up: Destiny 2 & more expacs confirmed]

I'm a former player. Beat the story and traded the game in. Nothing about the level progression felt rewarding. Raids are boring and I hate the random rewards.

Impressive numbers.

Although the game was a bit of a letdown, it still continues to hold my interest. I've now put over 200hrs into it.

I don't understand it. Why do they count also the people from 2nd hand? Why don't they say the units sold instead?

In any case, I'm happy to see that the uber negative gaffer hyperbole is wrong again when compared to the gaming market. Let's believe some day Gaf will be not that grumpy.

Has a ton of potential. I'm already addicted to it. I think a year from now it's going to be a completely different game.

Assuming they sold roughly half that, id say its a great start to a franchise. Enjoyed my time with it greatly, made some great friends, but now im content to wait for the DLC. Backlog was starting to get REALLY backed up...

This will probably end up as one of the most traded-in games ever

Because 9.5 million users sounds far more impressive than 5-7 million sold.

I'm one of those registered members and I totally regret it.

Single player is a grind with slim content and multiplayer has pretty much two modes. I thought this game would be my multiplayer shooter for the year and boy was I wrong.

Now that Advanced Warfare arrived I'm totally done with the game. It's two different worlds.

But it sure is a pretty game.

I wonder how much of a hit the community will take now that COD is out. I know that Destiny is going on the back burner for me and my group.

Ditto. After level 27 I just realized, why the fuck am I doing this? I don't feel any sense of power for gaining levels and I'm just doing the same damn thing over and over again. Sold it feel more than a lil suckered as I bought the CE.

Destiny is the #1 game for people who are waiting for the game they really want to be released.

The clan that I'm part of is still going strong but the holidays, CoD and MCC will certainly take away many players. Although, I fully expect people to return after the DLC drops in December.

Taking a COD break until the expansion and new Raid comes out, then I'll be right back on it.

The raiding in Destiny > any co-op experience in a FPS for the last 30 years.

Count me in as one...

I'd be happy if they just released free expansions or even $10 a pop.

The one thing I don't like about destiny DLC is that it has almost too much content

This sums me up. I had a lot of fun with mp for awhile. But then had to push my way through the "story" and things. When I finally got done with the raid.. It was better, but mostly boring and it was still a "That's it?" feeling.

Oddball opinion coming up, but I'm glad to be one of those registered users because of how fun the pvp is; pvp is really the only reason why I even play still.

Plays 3 hours a day, says it right there in the OP

9.5 million registered users is an exact figure from Activision Blizzard that isn't precisely defined in the document, 3 hours is their estimate of how many hours per day those registered users play on average.

Beyond the announced two right?

Hirschberg was talking about the Dark Below and said that there are more expansions coming after that. So at least one that is not announced. After that he said that the work on Destiny 2 has already begun.
