Thats $500m in revenue.
Profit would be much smaller ie lucky to clear $100m....but with the amount of advertising....who knows??
also sold in?? how long will it take to clear all that stock?
what? That doesn't make sense...

It was a lot of people too. I knew Destiny was going to be bigger, just take a look at borderlands and L4D2 for example of where fps is heading and merge them.I can't believe people ever thought Titanfall had a snowball's chance at being bigger than Destiny. Been saying this game was going to be stupidly massive, since day one.
fuck yeah, huge publishers making boatloads of cash off a product that nobody really knows anything about because they kept reviewers in the dark!!!!!!!
threefive cheers for AAA gaming!!!!!!!
i can't wait for all the expansions i've already paid $35 for!!!!!!!!!!!

I credit Bungie bro
If the game sucked then a lot of that 500mil would have been lost
Do you have a link to the breakdown of the sales, by chance? Not doubting you, but everything I was able to find in an unrelated search earlier was from May-June, and in another thread here people had mentioned that Titanfall just recently, within ~1 month, broke three million sales across all platforms. Just thinking logically, over half of that would have to be on XB1, right?
WTF did they expect?
They locked it down to one console and its the Second place one. I AM surprised the PC crowd didn't make a dent though
You guys are mad that a Bungie game sold so much?
The Alpha and Beta are EXACTLY what the game is. There's just a bunch more of it.
I know you are trying to poo poo this, but new IPs doing great is fantastic news for the industry and sends a good message to risk advert companies (like Activision^^) that taking a little risk on new games and new projects is a good thing.

Bungie is just an amazing developer. Didn't think they could re-create a hit as big as Halo but they're proving me wrong. No wonder Sony is treating this game internally like a first party release. If only Guerilla Games was 10% as good.
Microsoft's biggest mistake was letting these guys go. They should've recognized their talent and said, you know what, make whatever the hell you guys want to make and we'll be on board.
I don't know how you infer that from my post. I'm miffed that they muted reviews on the game with a bullshit excuse and led people to think that there's more to the game than there actually is (like the whole "you can go there" stuff). Another win for AAA gaming and publisher-led PR media.

People seem to really dislike it so far, so while it's a huge financial success thus far, I'd be worried about a sequel given its word of mouth so far.
Titanfall and Microsoft am cry.

You really think some whiny bitches on NeoGAF are stopping this train?People seem to really dislike it so far, so while it's a huge financial success thus far, I'd be worried about a sequel given its word of mouth so far.
Fuck me. How many PS4's did this sell?
Unbelievable. And nobody even knows if it will review well or not... Although thats moot at this point.

The makers of one of gaming's biggest FPS franchises create another financially successful FPS? Who could have seen THAT coming?
And 0 server issues for me, on PSN! Amazing.
Good stuff. Bungie has always been a top-notch dev and they deserve the success.
I might pick up the PS4 version, but maybe not. I thought the beta was good, but a little too MMO-like for my taste. I'm not sure if I want Destiny to "the" MP game I stick with for the next 6mos.
Why is that?

Yet it still significantly under-performed by EA's standards.
The hype machine and circle jerking by Microsoft and gaming journalists for Titalfall was ridiculous. It was proclaimed to be the saving grace of the FPS genre.
It wasn't, they backed the wrong horse.
