Detroit Become Human E3 2017 trailer

The game's looking great. Pretty much the only game of its kind, and not comparable at all to the cheap "fake choice" titles by Telltale.

Great!

This looks hot. Love the intersecting storylines and proto-dystopian feel. Putting you in charge of both a revolutionary and one of the cops trying to hunt him down is going to make for some really interesting moral choices since you're forced to choose a side between two characters that you've grown and spent time with.

Previous showings were better and somehow QD didn't evolve as much as other devs have in terms of animations/graphics (they were absolute top-tier last gen), but I am still hyped. I love QD games.

With this being David Cage, I'm expecting Humans (television show) levels of nuance. We'll see.

I recall that Cage is directing but not writing this? Not sure anymore.

looks interesting.
i didn't really like any of QD's latest releases, but i was a big fan of The Nomad Soul on DC & about 75% of farenheit/indigo prophecy.
i'll give this a go for sure.

Their twitter posted some changes compared to last year
(note that the "old" images seem like they got pulled from a compressed youtube vid)

Looks great, but why do they need so long :/ Hoped for a release late 2017. But who knows, no release date was mentioned, so....
It's just really ambitious to have branching paths in every scene of your game, have it work out and then produce everything at a AAA level I'm guessing. It's not exactly Telltale levels of choices after all

This Kara is quite different from the first trailer/teaser or is it only me?
This seems later on in her story as far as I can tell. Its certainly not immediately post factory like her first trailer was.

I assume Beyond being relatively linear allowed them to push graphics a lot more compared to Heavy Rain which had more content due its branching and while it looked good it wasn't Uncharted 2 levels. Even Beyond had some dodgy looking outdoor scenes, they aren't their strong suit. Indoors they usually have nuts looking stuff and the apartment we saw with Connor wasn't an exception really. So I think we will still get some good stuff in here

And yeah, Cage has/had writing and additional directing assistance from 2-3 people

Oh nice the Android from the beginning who was singing seems to briefly show up behind Kara here. Wondering what his role will be

I don't think it has anything to do with the story, they simply updated the 3D model.
Yeah I noticed they changed a few of them. So you are probably right. But could still also have story reasons why she would look different e.g. to have her own personality and not look identical to 500 other robots.

Anyone find the janky ass animations off putting? I swear it's like a deal breaker that breaks from the immersion for what the game is going for.
I think its alright when you consider that they probably have 2-3 times as much animations to process as even a Naughty Dog game

In case someone wants to read all the choices, plenty of little things to do when you are in sandbox mode.

I hope we'll get something in-game that visualizes the choice trees like that (obviously not off the bat, but maybe after going through the various scenarios you can see parts of the tree "unlock" to depict what you have done so far, with the paths not yet taken censored?).

Not sure how well something like this would really work, but could be cool.

This game looks really interesting, it seems to take the Heavy Rain formula to the next level ,I was hoping for a late 2017 release though.

They definitely added detail to the Connor scene a bunch too beyond the 4K checkerboard upgrade on the Pro. More character details especially

I'm really looking forward to this but I feel like it's been forever since it was announced and there's still no date.

Cage always reaches for the moon, and even if he doesn't make it, it's always an interesting attempt. I enjoy how loopy his games can get, so I'll sign up for this ride.

Its the demo they have been showing behind close doors for the past year, (I saw it in September played twice with different outcomes) but I believe its the first time they are showing this publicly

Live demo looked great. I love Quantic Dream

The only thing that bothered me about that demo is that it was too easy get the "good" ending. The options were to clear. I knew exactly which one would lead to a bad or good ending.
I wished they added more complexity to the android you're dealing with instead of going through a standard path of getting him to accept you, Like being reassuring or "too good" antagonizes the android more.

This is the first time they are showing live gameplay right?
It is. It can be played on the floor too by everyone as well

Live demo look nice.
They should make time limit to this scene add some urgency.
Where's the downgrade btw.
Yeah there isnt one at all. They added more detail even, this newer build looks even better than the one last year. Also im pretty sure there is a time limit. If you screw around too much SWAT will intervene

I mean its the very first scene with Connor you are going to play and he can already die here. So they probably didnt want to make it super hard already unless you really fuck up hard or do it on purpose. They obviously want you to spend some time with him before throwing the real stuff at you hehe

I mean the thing is, the path you see as too easy might not be the same for other people. That's the beauty of it. Everyone will have a different gut reaction to each response.

I originally was interested but the more I see this game the more I realise how sick I am of the robot gaining conscious and fighting back cliché in Sci fi. Its been done to death and hardly do I ever see a different take. Everything in the trailer just made me groan. Pass.

Yes but even the fact that they didn't seem to spend a lot of time doing the detective work. It looked like the skipped ahead to the balcony scene and they still had all they needed to calm him down. And the fact that the "trust meter" jumped from 60ish% to 100% with one conversation option..

Like remember in Heavy Rain where you had to remember all the items you touched in the jewelry store, and if not, the next scene changed completely?

I don't know. Maybe i'm nitpicking. I loved all their games so far so i trust QD to deliver. It's just something i noticed.
