Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Reveal Trailer

Edited a bit. Loved this sequence.

omg so deep
do u guys see the double meanings?????

Friends don't let friends buy video game inspired clothing.

That's the polar opposite of having the cool style that made you love it on the character in the first place. Get inspired, and then go get an appropriate real world wardrobe.

The trailer had a weird vibe... Jensen's words didn't seem to match his actions (merciless and flashy killing) at all.

In any case, I'm hyped! Human Revolution was incredible so this should be awesome.

I wonder if I'm gonna have to play the first one to understand what's going on here?

You mean Human Revolution or Deus Ex 1 from 15 years ago?

If the former, then probably yes, it's the same character. If the latter, just play it, it's one of the best games ever.

yeah it was hamfisted as all get out, but it could have been a lot worse, the angel imagery got old fast. once was really enough.

why does everyone think it's angel imagery instead of the continuation of the icarus imagery from the last game

do they need to have adam literally being icarus and fucking burning up into the sun again or get this point across or what

As someone who has never really gotten into this franchise in the past, can I get this game completely clean or should I play through HR first (at least based off of the trailer)? I tried HR before but it didn't really grab me in any way.

Best play HR otherwise you may feel burned by the sequel at $60.

Lol at people claiming how obvious the trailer imagery was and then mischaracterizing it as angels instead of Icarus.

It's an Icarus image.

I thought the trailer was very much meh. CG, no gameplay whatsoever, a strange storyline (why would ordinary humans hate humans with artificial limbs and eyes? wtf?) and a straight up explanation on Majestic 12 being behind it all right there in the first reveal trailer - which is supposed to be a hidden, behind the scenes, shadow government organization, you know. Discovering the conspiracy was one of the coolest aspects of the first Deus Ex.

Well, it was a reveal trailer hence no gameplay. They didn't have to release a trailer this long or of this high of quality. I'm pretty sure the augmentations go a little further than what should be considered normal so that is probably why they are hated. That and the terrorism.

why would ordinary humans hate humans with artificial limbs and eyes? wtf?

I think it was pretty clear in the previous game. Particularly as these are augmentations, not prosthesis for the cripple, and they add to the competition between humans, increasing the gap between the rich and the poor etc.

Besides, humans almost always hate what's different, so why would it be different in this case ?

Do you remember what happened at the end of HR?

A big part of it was the ending of HR... spoilers:
the whole augs globally got hacked and went berserk attacking and killing people

A lot of them are also drug addicts. Which leads to gangs of augs.

It's a reveal trailer brah.

Did you even played HR? because the ending shows very clearly why people fear them
(augs going berserk are scary)
.

Also the previous games already stated the presence of the Illuminati, there's no point in hiding the conspiracy in the trailers.

i talk to what's her face, your friend, and she's all "wow i saw papers about test subjects and observation on the boss's desk... wonder what that's all about...... hmm....."

and then like 20 minutes they reveal that but they're all "oh yeah this is happening, whatever," and your friend just recites a faction's wikipedia page article to you before walking off

then you walk out of a burning mercenary building under terrorist attack, two guards just tell you to maybe talk to somebody about this, and you walk 50 feet via the tiny corridors of this massive city into a coffee shop where the owner outright says "hello can you commit an arson for me"

i shot a thug in the head while standing in a dumpster and then i closed the dumpster and the thugs ran around with no idea what to do and a security bot shot them all

i got caught in that dumb empty nightclub with the messed up decals that look way too high res for the rest of it and even though i shot up everyone inside and the owner was in an alert status when i walked up to him, he nonchalantly asked me to murder a lawyer

then i ran outside and blew up some security bots and killed guards because fuck it i really don't care about this bland ass game and the other guards 20 feet away never noticed

invisible war is such a dumb game it minimizes to desktop every time you hit a loading screen, either reloading saves or entering a new area

I find this comment weird coming from someone with that avatar.

I don't understand what you're saying, Icarus didn't burn into the sun.

It's an Icarus image.

Obvious is not a synonym for hamfisted, when symbolism is distracting, regardless of what it symbolizes, that's going to ilicit some groans.

OK, the film potential is clear. Is the Human revolution film still looked at?
Great to be seeing more AAA games worth caring about.
