"In System Rift you will re-unite with Frank Pritchard, Adam's friend and former colleague at Sarif Industries, and assist him in hunting down information on the mysterious Santeau Group," the publisher explains in a press release.

"Desperate to get more information, Pritchard targets one of the most secure data banks ever created--the Palisade Blade. In agreeing to help, Adam may also be able to uncover hints as to who the illuminati really are."

System Rift will be available on September 23 through Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and on PC. It will cost £9.59 on Xbox One and £9.49 on PS4 and PC. The DLC is included as part of the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Season Pass, so those that own it will not need to pay extra.

The second story DLC included in the pass is called "A Criminal Past" and will be available in early 2017. You can see the full list of all the content you get as part of the pass here.

System Rift will be shown during PAX this weekend.

inb4 this was cut from the game to sell as DLC.

Except perhaps it was still being worked upon when the game was submitted and as such was never going to make it.

Well.. it was noted that the game was supposed to be longer in Jimquisition..

I think we're going to see a few of these faster DLCs.

Keep in mind that the game was delayed this year, plus the usual delay between game being finished and releasing on consoles ofc...

Team B was working on it. No surprise that it's coming out so fast. Watch the latest Jimquisition for more info.

Yeah, I watched it last night; I thought the second team was working on the next Deus Ex game though? Just releasing the first story DLC a month after the game launches seems like rather fast turnaround. Though I suppose what Com_Raven said above makes sense in this case.

I liked Pritchard in HR, likable asshole. Nice to see him return, hopefully they don't do a "Sarif" and change his voice actor too. Wonder if it's as long as Missing Link?

Is it free since its so close to the release date?

Lol. Oh wait... you're serious?

The season pass says there are two story DLC expansions. This would be one of them. I am going to wait and hear how long this is, because this will take one of the two DLC slots they've given.

I imagine they are trying to get this out before the rush of the fall games. Hence the second DLC hitting early 2017 after the holidays die down. Just a guess.

I haven't even finished the main game and I play 2-3 hrs almost every day. That's barely enough time to do one or two side missions + exploring. I should be done by the time this ready.

Nice to have Pritchard back. This game needs a healthy dose of "JEN SIN" coming from Frank.

Only two?

Also, after The Witcher 3, I expect big things from devs who dare to call their DLCs 'expansions'.

Lol. Oh wait... you're serious?

Sure, the game took 4 years to make, and you're telling me they needed that extra month to finish a piece of DLC? Its painfully obvious this was already finished they just wanted to make some extra money.

Especially the way the game ends so abruptly.

Wait a second... the British price isn't helping but is this $14.99?

If the second DLC is also going to be $14.99, then the season pass at $29.99 is not worth buying at all. You will actually save a cent ($14.99 x2 = $29.98).

So is this taking place separately from the main story like The Missing Link in vanilla Human Revolution or is it slotted into the main story like Director's Cut Human Revolution

Just wait for the inevitable Directors Cut. Not really into the sort of DLC that makes you feel like they feed you the complete thing piece by piece.

If this is substantial that would be a good sign for the next one. Since it comes out in 2017 I hope it will be pretty meaty. If they're both good I will get the season pass when the second one comes out. If not I'll either pass or get it them if they ever go on a good sale.

More like 3-4 months since the game had to go to certification. And that was before a late delay earlier this year. A lot of people on the team Likely haven't worked on the main game for months by the time his DLC is out.

I am surprised how people posting on a forum like Gaf are still not aware of how these things work...

Well, depending if it make sense within the main story or not(I'm assuming it's probably not), and assuming it last a good 4-5 hours like Missing Link, this would have made for quite a lengthy sidequest. So they thought it would make more sense as DLC. That and more $$$ in their pocket...

Anyway, this is nowhere near as bad as the Javik DLC(an important character in the lore, perfectly implemented within the main story as if he was just removed to be sold separately) sold at the same time as ME3 launched.

I didn't buy the season pass, but If those story dlcs are any good I can see myself getting them.

Glad to see Pritchard is back, so how about maybe Malik making a surprise appearance.

Lol, this is EXACTLY what I wanted from the DLC. It will be perfect with an even bigger challenge than Palisade Property Bank.

I had totally forgotten about that Javik DLC. Wasn't that one of those shitty "Limited Edition" bonuses for buying a new copy day one?

They didn't change Sarif's VA for no reason. The VA turned out to be a crazy conspiracist bigoted nutjob.

The dude was claiming his children were stolen from him by the CIA, mind controlled and stuff. Chemtrails, antivaxxing, abortion fearmongering, whatever you want, the whole gamut.

A lot of people are not very knowledgeable about the inner workings of game development

In any case, I'll wait and see how it goes. If its as good or lengthy as Missing Link, I'll buy it

This is going to be the size of a side mission I'm betting it now lol. A few conversations and possibly 1 or 2 enemy encounters and that's your lot.

Prove me wrong with a Witcher 3 style expansion though, yet I think we all know that isn't going to happen here.

Yeah, but you could also buy the DLC for 10$ if you only had the standard copy.
Which sucks honestly, not just for the principle. The guy was awesome and so many people didn't get to see him.

Come on now seriously... Missing Link released a month or two after HR and it was a lengthy 4 hours mission at least, if you spent time exploring(which, everyone should in a Deus Ex game). They wouldn't release a 10-15$ DLC for a mission the length of a regular sidequest.

But you already go into Palisade Bank in a specific side quest already in the game?
And well release is suspiciously close to the main game...
