Naturally with time, the core who purchases FF will continue to dwindle. See Japan for example.

Older fans who still game may also have new tastes since the market has changed a lot. Even if all the people who buy FF turned up for this game (which they won't after XIII) it still wouldn't get the type of numbers S-E is after with this.

What has Destiny sold? Like 8-10million across PS4 and XB1? If that's the case then the attach rate is massive compared to current hardware sales.

I do think this game will stand out once they begin fully marketing it, but at the same time it doesn't mean the masses will be willing to try out something unfamiliar if familiar titles released at the same time.

This is armchair market analysis tho so who knows. :p
 
So, I've lost track of what happened to this game. I know they overhauled the game at some point, but I don't know what's been scrapped.That trailer where they had you controlling characters during that big set piece with Leviathan, is that still the current version of the game?

They're building that giant city that was being ravaged by Leviathan and those soldiers, in-game. At least that's what was said a few interviews ago.

Here’s a question for those considering to purchase both Persona 5 and Final Fantasy XV: If both titles were released at roughly the same time, which one would you prioritize (buying)?

3. I’ll buy both​

This seems to be a fairly solid hint to the possibility that Square Enix is at least considering to release Final Fantasy XV in the same window as Persona 5, which would be Summer 2016.​

Im starting to stop caring about the quality of combat/gameplay.....really that world just looks interesting to explore.

Outside of fallout there really isnt any fantasy open world games. Fantasy as in, not "Tolkien inspired" fantasy.

Most people apparently have no issue with garbage combat, anyway. See Skyrim, Witcher 3 etc. I think for the general audience FFXV will be fun enough even with weak combat.

I'm really anxious to see FFXV's newest battle-system build.
 
Eh, I don't think combat has really ever been weak in Squeenix RPGs.

It even seems that the more universally panned (for whatever reason) the better the combat as far as general consensus goes (X-2, LR, etc)

And yes, I know that's a generalization, and there's a huge swath of diverse opinions in this fanbase.

Duscae's combat was much better than Skyrim's for sure.

Just give me pure summon and magic awsomnesss with 1080, 30 fps, and it will most def be the revival of JRPGs.

On topic, I'm glad Comic Fiesta was a recap of sorts with nothing major shown. January will give us final-ish gameplay footage and March has the release date, it's going to be good!!
 
I'm so freaking hyped for this game it's crazy. Ive been gaming my whole life and I have never been so excited for a FF game. (Correction: I have never cared about an FF game before!) I think it's simply because of how are they going to manage the open world goodness on this one and the fact that character design looks slick and simple and they don't have no-sense/silly ornaments around them like previous characters. Buying a PS4 next year exclusively for this game. Also the majestic soundtrack this game will have.

I did the same thing when it was a PS3 game and now basically did the same for PS4. I need help. T_T

The designs are very good. The music is very good so far. Everything seems great. I just want the game already...

That new concept art looks nice as well. Loving the front. I wonder how the car will be utilized if there's trains and boats as travel? Wonder if it will just magically appear? Be a summon? Same with chcobos and their function in the game outside of just running around at certain points. I hope the car and chocobos are something you can summon at anytime during the more open sections to the game.
