Developers (and publishers) with the most wasted IPs

You put EA on there and for fucking Harry Potter? Pardon my outrage but even just their Origin stuff trumps most of your others:

-Road Rash
-Ultima
-Wing Commander
-Wasteland (sold/gave this to Fargo -- thank God, hey go figure there actually is an interest. shocking)
-Desert Strike
-Mutant League
-General Chaos
-Theme Park
-Crusader
-Command & Conquer
-Magic Carpet
-Street
-Adventure Racing

Couple of these continue to exist in jank new iterations/reboots but yeah.

I should be clear that my anger is directed at the world and not you for a fun thread.
I came to post the Origin stuff and am not disappointed. Also, the Dune license Westwood used.

4. EA

-Harry Potter
Oh boy. You have one of the most popular literary franchises in history and a world where the games write themselves. Yet the only good game we got off of that was a spinoff of the sport, Quidditch World Cup, and even then we didn't get a sequel.

The games seem so dead easy in theory to create a quality experience. Motion controls should have created a wave of really indepth HP games and yet nothing has happened.

Whoa. Whoa whoa whoa whoa. Someone clearly hasn't played the Secret Best Potter games (GBC).

Though I agree, a Wiimote/Playstation Move controlled Potter game with some actual effort put into it is at the very top of my licensed game wish list

Nintendo.

Starfox
Fzero
1080 snowboarding
Wave Race
Zelda (zing!)
shitloads more.

Sega...I dont even know where to start!

Same with Capcom and Konami...hell the big 5 japanese companies....

Rare's Ips are being thoroughly wasted. A travesty.

Blast Corps, Jet Force, Banjo, Perfect Dark, Conker, KI, SabreWulf - all are ripe for a comeback. You can't tell me that they couldn't at the very least do something cool with one of them.

Nuts and Bolts was an admirable effort, but the majority of the challenges the game set were soooo dull. The whole game should've been more like Showdown Town. Banjo definately needs a full-on platformer sequel.

And yes, Nintendo really ought to get their arse in gear with Starfox. It's their action-packed sci-fi epic. If they don't give us a Starfox 64 sequel now they've got the full benefit of far more powerful hardware, then they're crazy.

nintendo is the safest bet i think... statistically speaking of course.

the number of IP they own is mindblowing and most of them are unused

oh yeah, Monolith Production:

these 2 games was an excellent stealth FPS with great humor to boot.
then all of a sudden, they decided to make that terrible spinoff Contract J.A.C.K. ugghhh...
I fear for Monolith Production after Gotham Imposters. I bought and finished NOLF2 even when my PC was rubbish and couldn't even run the game at 30fps. Great game. Wish they would make NOLF3...

Without a doubt Nintendo. They seem to be content with Mario/Mario Kart/Pokemon.

You mean the Nintendo that just revived a 25 year old franchise to nearly universal acclaim? Or the one who revived Punch-Out!! a couple of years ago, Pilotwings last year, and is reviving Luigi's Mansion this year? Nintendo's got a lot of faults, but forgetting about past glories isn't one of them.

They must constantly update all their IPs, while maintaining high quality and creating new ones. C'mon man, it's not a lot to ask. Right?
Right?

everything that could potentially have been milked has been milked.

sega did all it could do they even pumped money into alot of franchises that ultimately didnt translate well to current generation because alot of what gamers like about the original is due to their nostalgic factor.

gamers/audience has changed and development costs are disgusting.
