Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers US site goes live

I watched some videos and stuff. It's hard to get hyped for such an old game. I love Etrian Odyssey series mazes and other first person RPGs don't have the same style, really. I don't even expect the battle system to be as polished as Devil Survivor on the DS. The other games I've played are Persona 3 and 4, and Nocturne. Strange Journey was ok and I have to give it another chance.

I'm thinking if I preorder it, I can always sell it back later if I don't like it for some reason.

The main appeal of Soul Hackers is definitely the story, but the gameplay is solid too. Combat goes by really quick, even in the original, and the remake sped it up more.

Hmm...I mainly like RPGs for gameplay. As long as the story doesn't get in the way, I'm ok with that.

As long as they have collectible demons and the skillset like Zan, Agi, Bufu, I'm in. It does, doesn't it?

For the most part you can't really dick around with the skillsets like you can in latter day SMT games. There are a ton of demons to collect (roughly on par with the number in Strange Journey, with the added bonus of several of them being New To You).

Really curious to see how well this will sell and review.

Either way, that's a pretty decent site by Atlus US standards. Usually the JP versions are vastly superior.

Come to think of it, this is the first localized SMT game that involves depleting magnetite in dungeons.

That should be fun for newcomers!

(It's really not that tough, especially since demons drop it like candy, but you can use it up real fast if you're not careful.)
