Devs how do you feel about PSN game sharing?

I'm guessing they either hate it cause they're not really getting any money from additional shares, or they like it because more people will play their game, possibly people who had no intention of playing/buying the game in the first place, which could result in good word of mouth

I'm getting a PS3 this week and I will buy a number of PSN titles straight away but I don't intend to share any of them. Why? Because I want to see the devs get rewarded for their work.

Crap I'd try to see if I can find a diamond under my house if it was lifted off the ground. That diamond will have to stay there. Times like this makes me wish I lived in one of those beach houses that are on a lifted platform.
I hear you can only share up to 4 times though. Shouldn't be too much of a problem. If there's a way around that, not many people will know about that. And if you somehow loose the file you can't get it back. Majority of the PS3 owners might not even know about game sharing also. I only found out due to gaf like 1 month + after owning a PS3 (got it in feb. or march).

You can basically share your account with 5 other people/systems. You send them your ID and password, they create a new user in their PS3, tie your account to their new user, download whatever they want from your purchase history, and then they can play the downloaded games freely as long as they don't delete the user to which your PSN account was tied to. After they've downloaded the games from your account you can change the password to it, preventing their ability to go online with your PSN ID, but not their ability to play your games.

I'm in a gameshare club with two other PS3 owners and I have three other friends who have a separate club. We all share the password, we just delete the credit card info after we take our turn adding funds.

It may be prickish but I refuse to do it.
Everyone is all "I support the system and the devs" and then as soon as a new game is out they are in the sharing thread wanting to skimp out of five dollars or so instead of getting it where it should go.
The sharing on paper is a nice idea, but how they didn't know that people would be drooling all over themselves at the chance to exploit it.
When PSN releases start getting more expensive or devs say "**** it" and give up on the format then those same people will be the first ones crying about some injustice and how they are being victimized.

I actually don't know anyone with a 360 though. I tried ushering in Xbox to the madden group back in the day but they shuned it because of the controller (blamed the controller each time they were doing bad). They stick with the playstation controller and now that NCAA 08 sucked so much on PS2 they feel they have to upgrade next year (really wish there was some football competition in the industry. EA will always be lazy when they only have themself to worry about. Need to ditch the yearly upgrades too and allow you to update rosters and stats via internet. PS3's NCAA roster update via fans seem like a start though. Simple and quick).

This is actually a way to avoid missing your games in the case you brik up to 5 different PS3s without being able to de-activate any of them (a process which frees one of those 5 activations you can share).
The fact that people are using this feature to share games is like, how do I say, a byproduct? There is a reason why Sony isn't pimping this "game sharing" thing.

Not alot of people are sharing though. Some dude messaged me saying "PLZPLZPLZPLZ Warhawk Demo!!" and i said "Dude, get your own!"

Yes. In fact, people in the Warhawk beta were able to share it with others. The only PSN game in which sharing isn't really an option is the Home beta and only because they cross reference the ID in which you log into it with their beta tester ID's list.

PSN game sharing, never done it, other than to download my downloads on my dads PS3 since he gave me his, because i left mine at their lakehouse.

About the sharing motivating you to buy more games, if it's unlimited between the people you already shared with (usually 1-3 people), I can see that. I share games in real life all the time. If they just patch it somehow to make it only work on one console it would work for everyone. Just pass whatever makes the game active to the person that wants to borrow, but deactivating your file at the same time (not deleting it). This digital distribution thing wont' work well if there's no motivation to buy the games. Trading games with friends is one of the reasons having PS2 was so good for me. Pretty much everyone had one, and the only thing I had to worry about was them scratching my disks, but I got a chance to play games I would have never bought/tried (DOA, jet grind radio future, gta, DMC, etc.).
This should be the model for regular games. Allow a owner to share their copy with one or two friends. This will allow more people to sample a game. Lots of great games do poorly b/c they lack marketing. Why not save those millions on marketing and let gamers do the marketing for you? PEACE.

I think as already pointed out, there are pro's & con's to both sides of the argument. Without the sharing some people wouldn't have been exposed to full versions of the PSN games, but at the same time, every paid download counts for developers - especially the indies (just ask Mario).
Personally I'd just hope that if you did game share a PSN title and genuinely enjoyed it, then you would buy a copy for your own account.
