Sorry to revive an old thread, but I just finished up Season 1 and Season 2 and I thought I would add my appreciation in case some Showtime writer is reading this.

It is perfect, and the best show I have ever seen.

I watched the Season 3, Episode 1 Preair (available in the usual places).

Unfortunately it was too much like a Season 2 rehash

Dexter murders an innocent person on accident and covers it up. The police are looking for the killer aka Dexter etc etc except this time, no Doakes, of course. He's replaced by Jimmy Smitts who's not half as funny.

I dunno. I was really disappointed. I hope the rest of the season 3 has the same flair as 1 & 2.

I'm about halfway through season 2. Dexter fucked up, big time, when he got with Lila. She is about seven different kinds of insane, but worse, about seven different kinds of skanky.

Rita reminds me so much of my girlfriend, it's creepy. They're both blonde, use the same tones of voice and have the same sort of mannerisms. My girlfriend is normally like the confident Rita, but dips into doe-eyed Rita on occassion and some of the conversations they have are word-for-word re-enactments of conversations we've had.

So yeah, when Dexter got with Lila and started getting mixed feelings, I felt it.

This series is sooooo good.

The rest of the show hasn't really affected me at all but that episode got a little bit from me.

Just finished season 2 and OMG SO AWESOME. Lila was always a mistake and I felt sorry for Doakes (some of his bad-mouthed banter was hilarious), but what a way to go.

She was a great villain to replace Rudy/Brian because you knew she was evil the moment you saw her. You knew she was a psycho and you hated her for everything she did... yet you couldn't help but be attracted to her.

In the end, I guess I'm not saying Dexter should have slept with her... but I understand.

I've been sick for the last two days so I started and finished off Season 2. I watched the last six episodes in a row. Wow, this show like the shield really twists morality to the point where its hard to tell which way is up, in a good way :lol. It truely is headfuck entertainment. As soon as Doakes descovered the slides I knew he was gone. It was sad because I loved his character. He was too good to be just killed off, but I guess thats why this season was so good. Both him and Dexter remained true to their character. I just wish they could have picked someone else.
