Is the OT coming up tomorrow?
WADS-movement is possible and some people love it.

It's not an option, it's a script. The guy talking about it kind of sold me on using WASD for small movements while attacking. Also, it probably helps with animation cancelling which means you can attack faster.
OMG fuck yeah.
I downloaded an auto-script for WASD movement in Titan Quest and it was god damn perfect.
I don't MIND holding the button down for clicking...but it's not really ideal. Especially when I've been trained for WASD forever.
Allowing WASD would provide an unfair advantage over click to move in some situations. We could of course make WASD the default control scheme, but we feel click to move is integral to the Diablo legacy and gameplay. We have no plans to add WASD or allow it.
As for your other points we don't disagree with freeing up the left and right mouse button bindings, and appreciate those and the other suggestions. We'll likely continue to make additional changes to control options after the game's release.
Heh, a script. Blizzard has banned people from WoW for using scripts they don't like. To say they would do the same in D3 isn't a stretch.
This is true, and so my dream using WASD in D3 just died. If blizz doesn't want us to use it, then i won't use it. I'm not risking my battle.net account just for this shit.
I'd prefer WASD (since my mouse has enough buttons to cover all the hotkey attacks), but I won't cry about it.
Your own risk, yadda yadda. We have no plans to add WASD or allow it.
I'm going to use it either way.
It's not like it's a bot in WoW or anything.
That quote certainly doesn't say "we'll ban your ass"
source...Blizzard’s copyrights in and to the Service and/or Game. You agree that you will not, under any circumstances:
A. use cheats, automation software (bots), hacks, mods or any other unauthorized third-party software designed to modify the Service, any Game or any Game experience;...
If we had the WASD option, couldn't we map the game to be played on a pad?
So use this WASD script - but please don't complain afterwards if you should get banned!
Well taking the quote with some salt, they might be more forgiving to it being used outside MP/ PVP.
That's what I'm thinking.
I don't plan on doing any PvP or even any crazy MP for that matter.
I'll let everyone know how it goes come Tuesday (if anyone gives a shit that is lol)
You'd have to be stupid to use a third party script that controls your character in D3. It's just not worth it.
Except I'm controlling my character.
It's not like a bot is moving my dude around.
Plus you still have to manually pick up items/attack stuffs.
Whoa that CE is HUUUGE!
Never thought it would be that big, don't know why really
That doesn't matter, when you press WASD the script is inputting the actual mouse commands into the game for you. It's not much different from botting in principle. It's your account though, just know that you're taking a gamble.
It's a dark day when adding WASD movement to a game can be considered botting.
When does the OT get made?
It actually looks smaller than my WoW boxes and SC2 box. But I might just be misjudging the picture.

In the D3 beta were you allowed to have spaces in characters names?
Haha oh my...Having bad withdrawls, reinstalled Torchlight.
Closed it 15 minutes later and wept openly as I stared at my wall calendar.
Yeah, I know.
But that coupled with having to click on enemies to attack and stuff. Makes me feel like I need to have pinpoint accuracy with my mouse to hit the enemy I'd like to hit.

I like how the official Blizzard stance seems to be that WASD can be an advantage and a better control scheme, but they won't support it.
It's not a huge deal in the end, but it'd be nice, it's a shame that Blizzard seems just as far up their own ass as they do with WoW, though.
