Diablo III Collector's Edition Announced

You can still find some Cataclysm Special Edition boxes locally for cheap. I'll take the risk and wait, since I already have the regular pre ordered.

I'm so lucky I live 5 mins away from where they do their launch events.
 
Looks really great.. but is Diablo 3 going multiplatform? In the Blizzcon thread I saw a few people posting "DIABLO MULTIPLATFORM" but I couldn't figure out if they were serious...

Either way I hope it has controller support. After Torchlight on XBLA and their own comments about testing controller support in it's gone from something I figured would be pointless to include to something I really want. Especially if they are smart and allow the Keyboard to be used in conjunction for shortcuts, it'll be the best of both worlds!

And this may be the first Blizzard CE I jump on. I usually don't care since I typically don't like their games THAT much, but I was blown away by playing Diablo II with some pals online.

Diablo 2 had lots of cutesy/evil looking monsters like that.

Also that little dude is the WoW pet, not anything to do with D3. So your post is filled with multiple levels of fail.
 
It is missing a Cinematics DVD of all the D3 CGI movies pieced together...

They did it with D2 and War3... seems like a poor omission... i like behind the scenes stuff and all, but I would much prefer the DVD/Blu-ray or the D3 CGI, or better yet, a DVD/Blu-ray of all Diablo Cinematics (including the first) put onto the DVD sort of like a 3 part short film.

very disappointing... even though the soundtrack and Art Book will likely be amazing, there rest of the stuff I just don't care enough about.

Damn if that Box isn't sexy though... Love the ruined white look of it.

The fanboy in me is geeking out while the rational adult side is questioning if I really need all that extra stuff. No question that the CE looks hot, though. I would be proud to display it.
 
Too pointless shit... Who even has a use for that small a USB stick these days? Why not make it an actual stone pendant or something like that at least? That and the skull are more of a deterrent for me, as much as I'd like that art book. It would be better to have that crap replaced with a nice cloth (or whatever) map and high res art posters (without ruining them with logos, and some nice art you wouldn't be embarassed to have, not character renders). The in game stuff seem inconsequential, thankfully...
 
My local stores aren't reserving it yet. I had to check because I didn't want a repeat of the WOTLK collectors edition
 
The Starcraft 2 CE was awesome. And I'm not even really into RTS games to begin with.

If it's anything like the USB Starcraft 2 collector's edition before, it houses Diablo 2 and it's expansion pack. Just look at the USB promo image, it's not a stylish USB for the sake of only being a USB.
 
How much was the Starcraft 2 collector's edition? For some reason I remember it only being $80. Pre-ordered it anyway from Amazon since I have every Blizzard CE since Warcraft 3, but I have to admit I am not sure I won't cancel this one and go back to the regular edition sometime before release.

SC was definitely 100. I remember not buying it because nothing in it was worth 40 more than the usual 20 more.
