DICE - "Gamers are ready for Mirrors Edge 2"

"reach a a broader audience"?
If there was one sentence that makes me lose hope for awesome sequel, it was that one.
Ughhh, I bet they add lots of guns and make it a CoD type game because all the kids want to shoot shit up.

Dear DICE,

1. Forget about telling a complex story and lose the cutscenes. Do it all in game.
2. 4-player time trial mode.
3. Cops vs runners mode.
4. Profit!!!

Please don't add more guns, focus on combat or lose the colourful style.

How can they possibly dumb it down? Add a third-person view?

Oh god, I hope not.
I think he means something like BRINK's SMART system, where you just have to hold a single button and let the game do all the jumps 'n tricks. Rather than having to jump, crouch, slide, rotate and wall jump manually.

I think? :D

Leave this planet, now.

Mirror's Edge is gamers girlfriend that can't decide if she will get back with them or not. We know what we would do for a sequel, it was a failure, ya if there is demand, nope we only make battlefield, gamers are ready...

As it is a 3d platforming game it appears to be going through its own sonic cycle.

that's the entire point of the game, they wont do that.

I hope they add snap-to-cover combat mechanics, maybe QTE melee fights too.

About time.

Lets hope the weaknesses they know aren't the "poor targeting/gun control", for all we know it could be the "vivid and childish colors".

Man I hope they don't get overworked....I'm sure they still have to work on the 2nd Medal of Honor since the first one was a success
Most of the Medal of Honor staff (along with just about everyone else at DICE who didn't move to EA's f2p studio EASY) was moved to Battlefield 3, so I think Danger Close is doing the entire game in house this time.

They might still put the DICE label on it for sales reasons, but I suspect the vast majority of the work won't be coming from them.

For the love of god DICE, don't change the artistic theme/route of the game.

I have faith that a sequel would come out sooner than later after BF3 is done and over with besides the dlc for it. I need my Mirror's Edge fix in my veins!!!

QTE melee fights? Like the one with the wrestler on the rooftop? I wasn't a fan of those at all!

I will admit, though, the disarm manoeuvers you could do whenever the enemys' guns flashed red were disproportionately gratifying, but I think that was more down to the animations than the mechanic itself.

Their first tech demo for Frostbite 2 was actually a really great recreation of a Mirror's Edge scene with realtime lighting.

I'll see if I can find it.

Need to play the first game eventually. Already have it on Steam, but newer games are vying for my limited GBs this time of year.

I actually remember being disappointed by it.. looked pretty much like when they used U3.

That said, i dont even think Mirror's Edge needs a graphical boost at all.

yeah not like there's any competent developers on GAF right

Not because there aren't competent developers, but because of conflicting interests. Would anybody realistically agree?

Well, it was only a lighting demo on a rather old version of Frostbite 2, but I feel the fact that they were able to replicate pre-baked light maps that took days to render in realtime was still pretty impressive.

I don't care if they make it more of a shooter to help sales in the campaign, as long as the time trails are still in place.
