Liar! Who let this heathen into our establishment!? Burn them! BURN THEM AT THE STAKE!!! Everything must be perfect!Ysiadmihi said:I don't know why they feel the need to reassure PC gamers. We're going to buy it anyway and it's going to be good even if it ends up not being what it should have.
If it is another BC2 i definitely wont buy it at full price, for what it's worth.Ysiadmihi said:I don't know why they feel the need to reassure PC gamers. We're going to buy it anyway and it's going to be good even if it ends up not being what it should have.
I still remember the BF2 thread on here. It was fucking crazy, people were jumping over themselves in posting screenshots.wwm0nkey said:I just realized, out first look at this game at GDC is this month isnt it?
Noisepurge said:Bots are pretty useless and not many developers have time to build a competent AI with pathfinding to be actually fun to play against in MP-maps.
And atleast i support unlocking of guns, its fun and gives some more goals while you learn the game.

Javaman said:Bots are never useless. They provide easy or hard cannon fodder to allow people to learn the maps or play low stress games without worrying about assholes yelling at them for being newbies. The bots in BF1942 weren't all that bright, but that never made it any less fun to wade through them. (unless they kept taking the vehicles and wouldn't give them up)
1-D_FTW said:And they let you actually learn to fly vehicles. WTF at omitting this. Somebody needs a bitch slap over there.
Pikelet said:I think a tutorial would suffice for this, i don't see enough people picking this up to play with bots to justify making it.
speedpop said:Just like the PC version of 1943.
1-D_FTW said:While I would prefer the bots (because I like a little mindless slaughter myself), I would accept this. Give a free fly mode. But something has to be there. I was never great with vehicles in the old games, but I was serviceable. I can't even touch the helis in BC 2 because it's instant crash.
Considering how poor DICE have always been with balance I could do without jets, though I wouldn't be completely against them returning. As for prone, after having to suffer through the nonsense in BF2 I don't care if it's not added.CryptiK said:+Jets

BF2142 fixed the dolphin diving problem by just adding a small accuracy penalty for a few second after going proneIkuu said:Considering how poor DICE have always been with balance I could do without jets, though I wouldn't be completely against them returning. Because BC2 with jets would be the same as BF2. Sure.I <3 Memes said:Without jets it is just Bad Company 2.

Outside of things like commanders, conquest mode really isn't much different in BC2 than it was in BF2. Tanks, jeeps, helicopters, boats, class system, squads, spotting. Maps are smaller sure, but its a 32 player game.
It's not the maps being smaller that makes the difference, it is the general openness and amount of options that is missing. In BC2 you typically only have a few entry points that lead to progress, whilst in BF2 you can attack from pretty much any angle. A bigger map also makes landing a few guys behind enemy lines via a helicopter actually matter because there is a much larger penalty for death etc. Stakes are higher, strategy plays a bigger role and it is much less schizophrenic.I <3 Memes said:I did play BF2 for 3 years while admittedly I've only been playing BC2 for a few days. Jets are fine and they are a big part of thew BF experience. They just need to be balanced better.
Blops actually does play like a PC game on PC. It doesn't feel like a console port. There are very few multiplatform FPS games that feel like that, and BC2 isn't really one of them. BC2 does have more PC specific features perhaps, but the controls don't feel good on PC. And that's central to the entire experience.Beepos said:Treyarch on Call of Duty Black Ops:
We are a PC developer. IÂ’ve been running a dedicated PC team since the beginning of this project. We had one last project. We are making a true PC title here and I think itÂ’s a really important platform for our studio, and IÂ’m also really thrilled that we can support the PC community as much as we can.
One look at the BLOPS PC forums disagrees.....
I have a lot more confidence in DICE than Treyarch but it's more I'll believe it when I see it type thing.

I think the CoD PC gamers want the ability to mod the game and have more control over the experience, but the core game doesn't feel like a port.
The controls and feel aren't really far divorced from CoD2, which was chiefly a PC game. I mean, the server browser isn't up to snuff, but janky server browsers isn't something atypical in PC gaming. :lolmarkot said:lol?
Pikelet said:On paper they look similar, but in practice BC2 is almost closer to Modern Warfare than it is to BF2.
Relative to BC2, CoD2 feels like a PC exclusive. I don't really see how it was consolified. They increased the speed and responsiveness of the game and created that distinctive Call of Duty feel with it, but it didn't feel consolified. It just felt dumber.markot said:Cod2 was rubbish on the PC, epitome of consolified, turned me off the entire series >_>

It feels that way because all cod's are based on ID Tech 3. The last two cod games have been really neglected on pc.BobsRevenge said:Blops actually does play like a PC game on PC. I understand that criticism, but I am of the mind that the destructible buildings in BC2 were made to compensate for its smaller design philosophy - to provide what is essentially a dynamic play environment whose geometry and tactical opportunities vary as time goes on.f0rk said:It's not just that, most of the maps are too straight. If you're losing one fight it's way too hard to go find another one because there aren't any. There are also ridiculous choke points.

You make it sound like Mirror's Edge was offensively bad. :lol :lolDarkshier said:For the love of God and all things Holy in the world, DO NOT have a singleplayer mode for this game. Battlefield has established itself as one of the premier multiplayer shooters out there and any singleplayer/story mode, only seeks to take away focus/resources from the awesome multiplayer mode. Seriously DICE, nobody cares about your shitty singleplayer mode, so don't include it. Use that limited disc space for more MP maps.
Mirror's Edge isn't Battlefield. They can continue to use that franchise as their singleplayer focus but keep that shit out of Battlefield. The Storymode in Bad Company is so atrocious and such an insult to the Battlefield Franchise.BobsRevenge said:You make it sound like Mirror's Edge was offensively bad. :lol :lol
