Did you ask for a refund for Cyberpunk?

No. I bought it on XboxoneX and it rus fine. No bugs til now, only a few glitches. Right now that I've found a ps5 i bought also the playstation version

Nope. Absolutely loved the fuck out of what I played and I got EXACTLY what I expected for buying a Day 1 AAA title: A buggy AF launch product. I knew it would be as buggy, or buggier than Witcher 3 at launch as games usually are nowadays and that was well taken into account. I had ZERO inflated expectations. I expected a more open modern Deus Ex, and got exactly that.

Totally do feel for last gen owners tho, they actually do have a case coz there is such a thing as minimum baseline of acceptable performance and 15-20fps is not it. That being said, it isn't grounds for a fucking lawsuit either... If low fps were grounds for a lawsuit, we'd never have gotten past the PS1 era. Its grounds for refund, that's it.

When people point out it's buggier than Witcher 3 I always want to know if they realize it's taking on so much more than that game was.

The Witcher 3 at launch had crashes galore. Corrupted save files were not uncommon. Terrible graphical performance.

I honestly don't know how anyone can think of CP2077 as worse, other than people exaggerate everything today more than they did 6 years ago. Or I suppose the old "Well, it wasn't happening to me on Witcher 3 so it didn't count" style logic.

More ambitious games come out buggier, pretty much always true. The more you can do in a game the more opportunities for bugs.
For a game that was announced nearly 9 it seems like it would have been less buggy considering how long they were working on it. I don't think that the size of the game they wanted to create is necessarily a good justification for the state the game released in. We shouldn't accept "bigger means worse"

I played Witcher 3 on PS4 even before the day 1 patch and no. Not even close.

Buggiest game I've ever played.
Disappointing story.
RPG elements are all bullshit.
AI is truly horrific.
Performance isn't great (Quality mode XSX)
Game crashes every now and then.

But despite all of that, I loved it.

Side missions were great.
Some of the best characters I've come across in gaming.
Open world is definitely one of the best ever created.
Soundtrack is wow.
Visually great which is shocking given it's still technically only an Xbox One game.

Flawed experience but regardless of all that I fucking loved my 45 hours with the game.

You guys keep talking like the game exists in a vacuum and what I'm saying hasn't been true for at least a decade and this is just the latest example. You're also pretending the game was in the same level of development the entire time it was being made (despite Witcher 3 and its massive DLCs coming out during this period). That said who is ACCEPTING it? The consequences have been severe, this thread is specifically about one of the big consequences, massive numbers of refunds. It's unclear what more some of you want (besides having us pretend the gaming industry hasn't had a problem with the state of games on launch for a long time and this is clearly the WORST example)

No intentions of returning it, I'm really enjoying it on Series X. Looks great and no crashes (unlike Cold War which shuts my console down stopping me from even completing the campaign). All I have seen are silly glitches such as floating mobile phones here and there but nothing major at all. Heard it doesn't run as well on PS5, PS4, and One X but that doesn't affect me.

Nah, im not gonna get a refund. Was originally going to jump right in. But since reading everything. Just gonna finish 2 other games i uave before starting Cyberpunk. Should be patched by then.

At the time, Witcher 3 was also taking on so much more than anything CDPR had done before (Witcher 2 in that case). Witcher 2 also was a disaster at launch. History repeats here, no surprise... history has also shown what it will become, and that's perfectly fine too.

Witcher 3 was a long time ago so no surprise ppl forgot. But that in itself is a sign of what is going to happen with CP2077 also. It will get fixed, it will get huge patches and upgrades. By the time DLC content is out, nobody will even remember the bugs and it will be praised to the heavens like W3. People have short memories with games, especially on the Internet.

By the time the next ma'am-infested max pozzed Sony exclusive comes out, everyone will have forgotten as they'll have a new thing to hate on.

This makes no sense
They said they couldn't check if i really played the game or if it was just running in the background. I didn't close it but was doing some other work on the pc and forgot to shut the pc down in the evening.

What exactly do you think doesn't make sense?

Day 1 edition for PC here, but still haven't got my parts to try it out! (Waiting on 5900x and rtx3080).

So no, no refund here.

I refunded on Xbox (series X) when I heard about potential save problems.

it just makes more sense to catch the whole thing on sale in a year when it has been patched a lot and the DLC is out.

They annouced it too early. Witcher 3 also had pretty heavy delay

The release date was later delayed from the third quarter of 2014 to February 2015. After missing its planned release date of 24 February, CD Projekt Red confirmed in April that the game was released to manufacturing. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released worldwide on 19 May 2015.

So with main project in danger I would assume CP2077 was being done by minimal crew at that time. And only after may 2015 they probably shifted more resources to it.
Probably because there also were new expansions to w3 under work.

Picked this up on Series X, but also refunded the title. Loved what I've played of it, but the game seemed like it needed more time in the oven. Will pick it back up once the NG patches hit and some weird oddities are ironed out (like the police!)

Picked up Immortals Fenyx Rising instead and have to say, I'm very very impressed.

I've seen some say "how are they going to keep people from scamming the refund system?". Easy - you are required to mail the discs :D CDPR will pay for shipping, though. I am curious where I will have to mail mine - Poland or somewhere in USA

Asked for an exchange of Xbox copy for PC.

Don't forget that they have a lot of people working on Gwent standalone game. It has been changed significantly compared to beta, there's lots of new cards all the time, events, a mobile version...

yeah mang, i bought it on pc, it ran fine, but i just thought it sucked.

not my cup of tea, i got caught up in the hype, but i didn't enjoy it at all. played about an hour and got my money back.

I thought about it at first, but I'm glad I didnt about 40-50 hours in. I'm focusing on the central content and side stories, there is plenty to do still and it doesnt feel too buggy. Ive done a few of the missions you get by proximity, they work but are more reliant on mechanics and I just sense it will be more fun once they perfect the game.

Getting into quickhacks really was a elder scrolls type moment for me. and it has been a long time since I felt that. Very cool to role playing in the city, and the story telling is digestible and well authored. My eyes tend to glaze over for a lot of other open world games.

Playing on Series X on hard, it's a game there arent a ton of, so I'm glad it is here.

That's nowhere near enough to really see the game, you're not even done with the prologue after one hour. You can't enjoy things without work and personal investment. Just like you can't have fun in Zelda unless you try to solve puzzles by yourself. It takes about 3-4 hours at least to get into the game, for me it took 5.

Absolutely not. But I'm on series x. The bugs are pretty annoying especially cus they seem to get worse - but the game is so damn good regardless. It may be the most time I've put into a single video game ever I think I'm close to a hundred hours.

EDIT: I just gotta say - the backlash to that actual quality of the game and depth to it is total bullshit imo. The game itself is actually great.

Nah, I haven't refunded my PC version. I've just decided to wait with playing it for at least few months. It's not like I don't have other games to play in the meantime.

Yeah man, thanks for the advice.

Have you ever started a game and just weren't feeling it? Or started anything, really.

Why start something if you're not feeling it? If you don't like the game's premise, why buy it? Put it aside and play later. But don't expect to enjoy this hobby in the long-run if you behave like this. The games won't be fun without your investment and desire to play. This is how it goes in any hobby, not just games.

dude, i'm 44 years old. I have already enjoyed this hobby in the "long-run". Go cape for this game somewhere else. I tried it, I thought it was stupid when I actually experienced the setting and tone of the game, I moved on.

You should do the same with this post. I don't need your advice, didn't ask for it and don't want it.

So, was Sony's whole refund offering just talk or did someone finally got his refund? I tried refunding it on Dec. 18th. and till now I got no response from them in any way.

I still haven't got my refund. It has been almost 3 weeks. I contacted sony customer support yesterday and they advised me that the whole refund situation is not normal for sony and to expect some delay. I understand there's a huge influx of refunds sony has to process but it shouldn't take bloody 3 weeks.

I tried to ask for one but I was a little too late in doing it for some reason. Ohh well, now I'm stuck with it.

I did. I wasn't going to at first, because I bought it on GOG and I expect the PC version will be great. My PC is getting kind of old though and instead of doing a upgrade build I decided to get a Series X. So I will wait until the Series X version is running great and then get it again.

refunded on PS5. it kept crashing and i wanted to get it on GOG instead so i did.

part of me wanted to not, because i like the game. but they shouldn't sell a game that crashes that often. that's bs.

Nope. Because I was a smart enough not to buy into this game's bullshit hype to begin with unlike the most sheep in the gaming industry.
