Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth localization problems - missing voices & quests on Vita

So what did you consider The Witcher 3 to be? Was it a rush job/broken product as well?

Depending on the issues, yes. If you cant access content of the game, its broken.

Witcher 3 must have been a nuclear fallout then. I don't agree with your usage of broke so I'm done.

NO FUCKING SHIT! I've said that from the beginning.

Calm down please. We are adults, we can have a decent discussion without being agressive or being patronizing. You can disagree, but there's no need to act the way you do.

No, the errors are definitely in the first chapters. I was mentally editing every error as I read them, but they were so minor that it never breaks the flow of the text.

They are definitely some early on your probably just fixing them without noticing it like I did.

Really? Oh well, they really must be some minor errors then. Anyway, still no reason to skip te game to me. I see so many terrible subtitles in movies and series and even these didn't makee me dislike the movie or anything.

I'm sorry for that but I have not once said that Namco Bandai should be forgiven(I've actually said the inverse in this very thread) and you telling me that just irked me greatly.

You can access it, but not quite as early as you should onVita.

Pretty big difference to flat out no access

So what is your response to people on Zero Escape 2. Did you call it a broken game, since it has a worse bug then anything in this release, and tell people not to buy it. Basically the future of this series in the US does depend on the sales of this game and you are blowing very minor issues into calling it a broken product.

Edit: We are trying to have a discussion about the level of problems in this game. The article and you are making it sound like enormous problems exist in the release when really everything is minor and apparently people aren't even locked out of the missing dlc it's just not available as early as the PS4 version. It's not a broken game it is a large 40-100hr game with some small bugs in one version of the release. Should they be there no and I expect them to be corrected. However they clearly put more time and effort into the PS4 port since the Vita should have just been a simple translation however it seems like they broke one or two things and didn't integrate the free DLC content correctly.

do you have a source for this?

Stuff like this makes me wonder why these companies don't hire English majors to do editing. They're pretty cheap (~$36,000 per year) and plentiful, and even better, they really don't need to be on-site to do their job effectively.

I'll do it! Probably think it's not worth the money.

Maybe I should get the Chinese version of the game but it's more expensive.

People are investigating the issue on gamefaqs and it seems the quests issue is in both the Vita and PS4 versions. You need to finish the quests to access a DLC Digimon but it seems the quests are not available on the Vita and the Digimon is not available on the PS4 version.

As seen here 195 is the number of the Digimon is missing on the PS4 version as well. It just skips from 194 to 196 when in the japanese version this never happened.

It's a strange bug.

Weird I thought people had already gotten the DLC Digimon on the PS4. I wonder if it fixes itself.

I'm assuming it's for
Dianamon?

Yeah and apparently the lead up quests are in. I wonder if that doesn't show right until you finish the quest. Apparently it is an end game quest so we will have to wait until it is cleared.

Why not buy the ps4 version instead then? Seems like you are encouraging people to close an eye for the sake of the series' future in the west for only the Vita.

Thanks for the update to the Situation

If you are even slightly interested in this game or if you like turn based JRPGs or are a fan of Shin Megami Tensei buy it. It is the best damn JRPG I've played in a long time. The PS4 version works and looks fantastic. The vita version seems to have some glitches. No doubt the bugs in the vita version will be worked out before too long.

PS4 version has bugs too. Bamco has some work to do.

Oh? What bugs? I havent come across any yet. Played for about 8 hours so far.

Edit: The DLC worked for me on PS4 I'm actually using Black Garumon which you can only access with the DLC codes that came free as part of purchasing the game digitally.

telling us what bugs it has helps you know ;w;
See Jignx's post:

Yah, hope they will do something about it

So the person who wrote the blog F-ed up.

He was lokking at a reviewrs copy, and not the commercial release. The only "bug" is the Vita voice bug. Please add to OP

Here's an update on the situation.
I think I've singlehandedly caused a huge amount of misinformation on gamefaqs and I'm really sorry about that.

I posted it over here, and it's a little long, so I'll leave it there.

tl;dr I f***ed up, mistook a reviewer's copy for the definitive commercial version, it might not be a bug.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/757436-digimon-story-cyber-sleuth/73238694?page=10

Here's the rundown:
Right now, Dianamon's entry is not accessible in the Field Guide, it is not possible to see Dianamon in the evolution tree, and the purple (formerly DLC) quests are missing in both the PS4 and Vita versions. The only known sighting of the DLC quests in localized form is from RespDMO's playthrough of the PS4 version, which is suspected to be a reviewer's copy as it was released prior to the game's actual release.

At the very least, Chapter 5 and 6 have a number of missing voice sections (the ones that come to mind the most are Yuuko's gloriously fake bad acting and
Nishino's breakdown
, but there are others). However, after comparing with the Japanese version, I haven't noticed anything missing after that. I've only encountered reports of this problem in the Vita version, although I haven't heard accounts of it not being in the PS4 version (i.e. it's possible that simply nobody who's gotten this far has reported it yet). Gameplay videos on YouTube are still rolling out, so we'll probably see in a matter of time.

There is a reported problem (serial case) in which people who bought the first-month Vita version (and got its preorder bonuses) but did not preorder the PS4 version (and therefore did not get its bonuses) are now unable to cross-save due to the DLC incompatibility.

What this means:
Although it seems the formerly DLC quests and Dianamon were fully localized, and Dianamon was shown off at a Bamco stream, there seems to be clean no sign of her or her associated DLC in any version of the game currently released commercially. It's possible that Bamco may simply want to release those as DLC later, as was done with the Japanese version (only the people who preordered were able to download it from the get-go, and everyone else had a delay). It should be noted that purple is still referred to as being "DLC" quests in the localized game, which would contradict the idea of them being on-disk. The fact it was in a review copy also strengthens the idea of it coming to the game eventually in some form.

It's possible the voice issue may just be a voice issue and nothing more than that, and if it's the only problem it's possible Bamco may not consider it a big enough problem to warrant a patch.

At the very least, though, they probably need to do something about that cross-save issue.
There is no concrete evidence that any of the content issues are Vita-exclusive, as this arose from a misconception in relation to RespDMO winning the circumstances lottery and getting a pristine copy with the full content and such. As of now, there aren't any currently known differences between the PS4 and Vita versions other than those reported prior to the game's release.
