Digimon World: Next Order reveals female protagonist

In Digimon World: Next Order, players will be able to choose to play as a female protagonist in addition to male protagonist Takuto, this month’s V Jump reveals.

The female protagonist is a pony-tailed girl named Shiki. Like the male protagonist, players can change her name. Whereas Takuto is accompanied by Agumon and Gabumon, Shiki’s character artwork is accompanied by the the Digimon Biyomon and Palmon.
Digimon World: Next Order will launch for PS Vita in Japan in 2016.

Didn't see a thread via the search function, digitize if old.

Nice. I was glad Cyber Sleuth had the option for both male and female, and it's good to see that continuing here.

So, potentially Agumon, Gabumon, Piyomon and Palmon are all starters? Or, alternatively, the actual starters could wind up being completely different and this is just being done for promotional purposes.

This game needs to be localized as does Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode.

You all better buy Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.

Yesss, I was worried they weren't going to give an option like Re: Digitize.

I really hope Agumon, Gabumon, Piyomon, and Palmon aren't the starting options, though it's better than being forced to start with Agumon.

Not as good aa the CS protagonist, but I'll take it.

Gatomon where are you???

I'm sure she's in. She was in the previous World game and they are reusing the models from Cyber Sleuth.

If she (or I guess her rookie Salamon) is a starter, ehhhhh... I really wish they would let us choose from any egg or rookie at the beginning.

I thought the previous one also allowed you to choose your gender?

That was a Digimon Story game which has given the option for a while now. I don't think the World games have ever given an option.

Yeah, I would hope that we have some more unorthodox starting options. That was something that Cyber Sleuth did fairly well. I'd much rather that than "here's half the cast of Adventure".

Indeed, I want my weird Hagurumon option! Or Digimon from another season like Renamon.

At least let us choose the less popular Adventure Digimon like Tentomon or Gomamon.

Nice to see that the Digimon can display more emotion now. In Re: Digitize they didn't even close their eyes leading to pretty freaky death animations. >.>

It might also mean the Digimon raising is more complex this time around, which would be nice. Surely by now they've learned that they need to make their games harder, right?

This doesn't seem like something new. That would be like announcing the new pokemon game has the ability to choose a female trainer.

Not enough. Everyone needs to double dip. Namco is too tough to convince.

Honestly thought that All-Star Rumble was going to be Namco's weird scapegoat for not releasing any more titles in the West. Glad they thought beyond that in pushing the franchise.
Assuming Re:Digitise is too far behind at this stage, which is a shame.

Yeah, I hope there's some additional complexity in this game. The additional emotions are definitely a nice start. I hope this leads to being able to form a greater bond with an individual Digimon, and having some additional ways to interact with them and influence their growth.

Look better than female cyber sluth , it was very lazy design, she was basically the male protagonist but with skirt

I'll happily buy a localized, physical Vita copy of this. But I won't get to do that, because apparently Bandai-Namco hates my money.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth coming to America, Digimon Fusion running on TV, Omnimon figure of Our War Game releasing in America later this year, Digimon Tri part 1 coming out this year and Digimon World: New Order being developed; is this the best time to be a Digimon fan or what! :D
