Digital Foundry-The Last of Us Remastered on PS4 Pro

Ah, was hoping they'd atleast have the better shadows to go with 1800/60.

4K looks gorgeous though.

probably gonna play both modes xD just watched the walking dead and the Last of Us most certainly scratches that itch

Sounds good. Now tell me about Mordor!!!

Mordor looked so good already that with a decent Pro upgrade it could be the new gold standard.

This'll be the first game I play on my PS4 Pro. I've already played it 1080p/60 on my standard PS4. Time to go full native 4k/30 for my next playthrough. Can't fucking wait.

60fps mode running at 1800p is still a really nice option, on a 1080p tv you get the best of framerate and some downsampling going on.

I've become such a fan of the use of super sampling on the PS4 Pro. I've played through the game so many times already but from what I'm seeing of the Pro version it certainly looks like I'll be playing through again at some point.

TLOUR should serve as a useful test case to see how much difference there actually is between Native 4k and the checkerboard rendering alternative if it has both options available. Some would have us believe there's a world of difference between them, but we'll all get to see for ourselves how true that is very soon.

4K isn't even worth it to me if it means half the framerate. Give me the 1800p60 over 4k30 anyday

I'm curious to check it out for myself. Given the added temporal resolution of 60fps, I wonder how obvious the res difference will be at standard viewing distances.

This doesn't use checkerboard rendering.

Didn't somebody from ND say the game feels broken at 30 fps? Kinda funny that they're hyping this up now..

Edit: Did any enhancements make it to the MP?

They mention in the video that as soon as the resolution drops, you can notice the shimmering in edges almost immediately.

Its whether i can justify playing it again when ive done it several times on PS3 and PS4 thats my concern

I wish it had 1440p/60 with improved shadows for 1080p owners. Supersampling from 1440p would have been fine for a 1080p TV I think, and the shadow improvement would have been more visible. Unless their shadows are really that expensive that they just can't work in 60FPS period, despite the more powerful hardware :\

So glad they are supporting 60FPS on PS4 Pro. Initial announcements made it sound like they were gonna skip 60FPS support. This is how I hope most games will be supported in the future.

Seems after Gamersyde Digital Foundry will join the quality train

So?

Not one PSVR game has been analyzed while TLOU, Skyrim, MW Remastered, ROTTR etc. have all had some form of coverage of videos etc.

Those who recieved Pro early need to stick to their NDA deal. If they bought it in a store early, then they could cover everything.

I presume we will see much more game coverage from them when Pro hits the sales officially.

The 30fps mode on the OG PS4 remaster was really janky, especially compared to the PS3 original. It didn't feel like a real 30fps game (compare it to UC4 for example). Anyone know if the 4K30 version is going to have the same jank?

I'm a little dissapointed by DF completely focusing on 4K so far. Most people still have 1080p screens, so would like to know what we're getting out of the Pro.

Geez, this looks incredibly good. I'm impressed that the 60 fps resolution is still 1800p. That is really impressive.
