Sooooooooo hows the PC version? I heard on Waypoint Radio that it was pretty bad.....
Just read this thread!

I know I should! Buts its like 30 some odd pages long. Im very lazy lol
So, tomorrow then. Damn.
Well, hope the patch does its job.
In short, it's bad.
Slightly longer: Inconsistent-to-game breakingly ugly performance no matter if you're mid range or rocking a 1080 - independent of graphics settings - with just a few players able to report stability for no reason that can be discerned. Bizarre, hitching input timing with a mouse sensitivity seemingly tied to frame rate. Frame locking to 30 generates super long load times. Game forced to low priority in Windows unless janked to "high" using the equivalent of a sledgehammer. Adaptive resolution non-functional.

Bethesda seriously needs to put out a PR statement with an ETA of the first patch and an overview of the general timeline and fixes in this "series" of planned followup patches.
And post the beta of the current patch as well. It can hardly make things worse.
Looks like there's "a chance" of a patch before the weekend: https://twitter.com/Harvey1966/status/799323322198671360Bethesda seriously needs to put out a PR statement with an ETA of the first patch and an overview of the general timeline and fixes in this "series" of planned followup patches.

adaptive resolution non-functional?
Nah it definitely works for me.

This is actually as fast as I've seen the game load; with the frame limit set or not. Load speed is definitely erratic. Sometimes it's a lot slower than in this video. Either way, the point is that it isn't noticeably slower at 30fps.
I've actually turned off the cap now, as it's too unresponsive at 30fps.
I just can't get the game to feel very smooth whatever I do.

Interesting. This is still at the beginning of the game isn't it? I've not tried it there. I only tried capping it once I got a few hours into it. I just tried it again and it took ages like it always has.

What's your setup out of curiosity?

Almost finished my playthrough on console , hope patch is bloody done before I start playthrough 2.
i7-920 @4ghz, 12gb RAM, Gtx 970. Game is installed on a SSD.
Beta Patch is now available for Download. 6.5GB!

Proof.
Nice! So I can download this now and the official patch later? Or will it interfere with the official patch or my savegame?
This is the driver they meant (copied from steam forums so links didn't copy right):
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4260
It appears to be the latest + the hotfix for the low memory bug.
I can't get proof anytime soon lol
However, I can tell the resolution definitely scales down because models and textures suddenly become blurrier and then goes back to crystal clear during gameplay.
I have to set adaptive resolution set to 50 every time I start up the game btw. It resets every time I start and restart the game.
A patch that fixes a "small number" of issues is 6.5 GB? Holy crap that sounds strange.
21.9MB of files in the 64-bit version doesn't seem right when the 32-bit version is over 300MB.
That's probably just idTech 5 texture streaming garbage.
lol I guess you could assume that, but it doesn't look like it. The entire screen becomes less clear as if it's a lower resolution. I have turned adaptive resolution up to 100 (which turns the feature off) to test it and the game wouldn't become blurrier at the same points as it would before. My framerate would then chug a lot harder.
Sorry my experience is better than yours![]()
Uhhh what? I haven't even bothered playing the game until performance fixes are out. What is even the point of the bolded? Congrats that the game looks worse for you?
You are doubting everything I'm saying and it's amusing to me. I was just jesting. That's the point.
The patch is 6 gb but apparenlty it's requiring a shitload more space to actually install. Though Steam got rid of this problem finally, but I guess not.
Yeah, when patching a game, all of the files being modified are saved to the downloading folder then moved once they're updated. E.g. If you install Garry's Mod and switch to the dev branch, the "patch" is only a 90MB download, but in actuality the dummy data takes up 755MB.

Anyone else getting the "non 7z archive" error when trying to install the nvidia driver in win10? This error message pops when I have selected where to unpack the files and press the confirmation to unpack.
