Disney Looking at a Boy Meets World sequel

They shouldn't even touch this classic. I learned more from Mr. Feeny than I learned in elementary + highschool.

I think. I can't remember.

Seeing how awfully self aware most kids and teen shows are these days there no hope for this. It wont even be geared towards what I think is the average age of GAF anyways. What I would like to see is a legit return to the Wonder Years stylings, maybe a take on another decade... 80s or 90s. Writing and scenario that would be interesting for the younger crowd but still poignant for those who grew up watching Wonder Years.

If they wanted to bring it back close to the original tone, maybe. But as one of the Disney over-the-top zany sitcoms we get these days? Nah.

reason why boy meets world was awesome because of batman himself, Eric. At the start of the show he was a kid who didnt care for his younger brother, then he became a real asshole at one point to him. Openly mocking him about his love life, then he realized what he was doing is hurtful and found that he should be a man his bro can look up to. Eric had the best character growth of the show and why he is the best.

even though at the very end of the show he became a goofball, but ill forgive that because he was a awesome character.

The hell is the point without Feeny, Shawn or

Holy shit, is that Adam Scott?

That show is so fucking horrible in retrospect. They turned it into a C-grade Friends ripoff.

Nail on the head (at least in the later seasons). Plus the manufactured drama and weak preaching about morality. Whoever said that Boy Meets World is better than Wonder Years is the opposite of a gentleman and scholar.

Nothing says 90s sitcom like preaching about morality. I think BMW holds up better than most of them.

Boy Meets World was a fantastic show but I'm not too sure how it would work with a young female lead. It would be similar only in name. I'll totally willing to watch the first episode and the inevitable Feeny and Eric clips off youtube, though.

edit: also, plays with squirrels

The later seasons had some issues for sure, but I definitely disagree Eric was one of them. Turning him into the comic relief bumbling idiot was the best possible thing they could've done with him by that point, and it worked wonders.

Disney still seems to think the 90s sitcom format is viable

I watched way too much BMW as a kid but revisiting them would be weird

Why 90s kids are better than 80s kids: Boy Meets World holds up, The Wonder Years doesn't.

Wonder Years aired from 88 to 93. It is much more of a 90s show than an 80s one. Also your opinion is fucking HORRIBLE. Wonder Years is timeless and classic. Boy Meets World is trash. IT's worse than Reba.

Why didnt Will Freidlie do anything live action after? He's so hilarious.

He did some Disney Channel movies if I recall. I liked "My Date with the President's Daughter" and "H-E Double Hockey Sticks" was campy, but fun.

Oh, and best Eric line-- "I married a moose. We don't need counseling."

Preteen daughter? Girl Meets World, then?
I know it had, what, eight seasons or so, but seems an odd property to revisit.

dude, people from that generation loved the show and now have children they could watch a new version with the same characters they know and love. if it doesnt come out extremely bizarre or terrible it could be a hit

Yeah... no.

That show worked so well it made me nostalgic for a time 10 years before I was even born. Plus, emotional trauma and stuff.

Man, my memories of it are fuzzy (haven't seen it since it originally aired), but it's still in there.

I fucking loved Boy Meets World. Feeny and Eric are great.
I think it's time to start another Boy Meets World series rewatch...

Not sure if I'd be up for a Girl Meets World. I just picture it being like the shitty sitcoms my sister watches on nickelodeon and disney channel where the characters are so annoying.

I'd totally watch the first episode of this. Not sure I can commit to more than that without having seen it though.

See, without the supporting characters of Feeny, Eric and Shawn, the show would be DOOOOOOMED. Also, did anyone else really like Cory's parents? They were cool, for parents.
