Disney short films collection on Netflix. Such death. Half cg.

Feast. It was perfect. I went through just about every emotion in that one.

Secret Santa was the only one that I thought was really subpar. The Tangled one was disappointing for me because I liked the two main characters more than the horse or Pascal, so it wasn't really what I wanted from a continuation of Tangled.

Everything else was awesome. I didn't watch Frozen Fever because I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't seen Frozen yet. I'll get to it someday.

idk if i can trust any opinion of a person who hates goofy that much. complaining how theres too much cg and then skipping one of the best shorts cmon man.

[*]Frozen Fever, Elsa's voice sounded odd at the beginning. Overall, much better than Tangled Ever After, and I like how they humanized her. But seriously, and I really don't think this is a stretch,
Elsa acts way more like a love interest than a sibling. Kristoff jamming in the "I love ya baby" is almost a jarring, "Oh, right, HE'S supposed to be Anna's love." And then they go right back to it with the "taking care of you" scene.

i had the exact same read on the short right down to the "oh thats RIGHT!" reaction

I found this on Netflix a week or so ago too and man......I came away very impressed :D.

Most the 2D Animated Shorts I never saw before, so it was amazing seeing new animated works from Disney :').

John Henry and the Little Match Girl were my favorites, I loved the Goofy and Mickey shorts (really love the latter; such clever mixing of CGI and hand-drawn animation :D), Paperman was great to see again, the Secret Santa short was okay, the Tangled Short was so fast that it was priceless (loved the horse characters a lot :')) and the Frozen short was the weakest to me.

Ana and Elsa were really interesting in the movie, but that was because when they went into song, it fit and sounded right. With this short though, the song takes up more or less the entire short....and it honestly isn't a great one. So, it turns what should be a nice side-story in the world of Frozen (mirroring what the Tangled Short did), into a 'oh, nice to see these guys again :).....Looking forward to Frozen 2 at some point'.

Also, Azure Dream said it best; the short made Ana and Elsa more like lovers then sisters, even with the reminders in the beginning and end of the short telling us "Wait! Ana has a boyfriend guys, don't forget that!" I might be reading to deep into that though (as they were just happy celebrating Ana's birthday) but still, odd message to pick up.

Overall, great seeing all those shows and its nice to see Disney putting more content on Netflix :D! Hopefully more animated films (Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, ect) start popping up on the service over time.

While I wished Destino and One by One were included in place of 'Tangled Ever After' & 'Frozen Fever,' this is overall a great collection.

As for the shorts themselves:

John Henry - I have a low tolerance towards musicals, and the song numbers had ruined my enjoyment of an otherwise cool looking short.

Lorenzo - I wished the studio had created more experimental short films, as Lorenzo is easily my favourite of the bunch.

The Little Match Girl - The story that this short is based off of is a miserable tale, but I didn't think the film was able to drive that point home.

How to Hook Up Your Home Theater - It's a riot, and very much belongs to the rest of the Goofy "How to" shorts. The cameos of the various Goofy's during the football match (Hockey Homicide, How to Ride A Horse, etc.) was a nice touch.

Tick Tock Tale - It's pretty impressive for being a first-outing for a small team. Nothing special, but it's incredibly charming for what it's worth.

Prep & Landing - Operation: Secret Santa - It's quite a delightful short, much to my surprise. Probably the most overlooked film out of the set, given from what others have said in this thread.

The Ballad of Nessie - Skipped this one.

Tangled Ever After - Didn't watch it.

Paperman - The crown jewel of the shorts in this collection. I can't add anything from what's already been said.

Get a Horse! - "MAKE WAY FOR THE FUTURE!"

Feast - A great short film, and I feel ashamed I missed it when it was in theaters. The moment when the owner of the dog is going through severe depression was beautifully brought across.

Frozen Fever - Didn't watch it.

Not sure how you could think Making Today a Perfect Day isn't an amazing piece of art. Its easily the best thing about the short.

I wish that these were divided up into episodes like a season of a tv series instead of one long ass thing.

Anyone know if John Henry was intended to be stretched out into a full-length feature? It felt very abbreviated to me.

I adore The Ballad of Nessie. It played in front of the Winnie the Pooh (reboot?) movie a few years back. Such a good lesson.

"Chin up now, pip pip."

I really liked the John Henry short and Paperman is still flawless perfection. I really liked the Goofy Home Theater short I would like to see them revisit the old school Road Rage Goofy character.

Just gave this a go on Netflix and really enjoyed it. Some shorts were better than others, but it was a pretty solid package all in all. It's a shame they didn't include One By One and Runaway Brain though, they would've made it perfect.
