HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA. "This actress who made a shitshow of a beloved Broadway musical as the lead in the awful Hollywood adaptation where no one could give a good performance would be perfect for this role." LOL.

Emmy wasn't really the problem with the movie though.

Beauty and King Dork...

I would say Aladdin is unlikely...
Sorry, Aladdin can't happen. Not anymore. There is a crucial piece missing.

:'(
If they can find someone perfect enough to do Genie justice I say do it. Dedicate the film to the memory of Robin Williams.

So how do these live-action remakes work? How similar are they generally to the original films? What about the more cartoony stuff? I'm having trouble picturing all the talking furniture and knick-knacks as more realistic. I'd have trouble picturing a magic carpet that moves on its own and the Genie himself in a live-action setting too. I haven't seen Cinderella or Jungle Book yet.

Impossible not to hear Gandalf when he says "you fool!" and I'm not sold on Watson as Belle but . . .

. . . that music, so good

She certainly didn't help much. No one in that film did. So it's odd to use it as a barometer of anything.

What's considered the problem with that movie in comparison to the stage play anyway? Did it just change a bunch of shit? I saw it last week and thought it was pretty bad but didn't know how much of that was the fault of bad direction. Cinematography was pretty flashy (to a fault at points) and the Phantom's theme was ballin' tho.

Emmy Rossum is consistently excellent in Shameless (underrated show). If anything I'd love her to be in this so she could get more recognition.

Don't really see much point in fan-casting anyway, and I don't doubt Emma Watson will do a good job. I remember her more from The Perks of Being a Wallflower than Harry Potter though, I read the books but didn't bother with the movies after the fourth one.

Crappy performances, bad lightning, miscast characters, and just totally boring direction. It didn't change anything, it just didn't do anything well at all. When Raoul can outsing the Phantom and the Phantom strains to reach certain notes, you know you have a serious problem.

I kinda liked Schumacher's Phantom of the Opera *shrugs*

Granted, I haven't rewatched it in nearly a decade though.

This movie is going to be awesome

Only other person who I can think of for this movie that is perfect casting is Anne Hathaway.

Belle is a young woman not a teen guys lol.

If it doesn't spoil it for you, watch this clip from Cinderella which shows the chariot animal transformations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=150om0EUl0s

As for accuracy, my girlfriend DIDN'T like Cinderella because it was so accurate. She wanted something different compared to the original animation. I liked it, having never seen the original.

Interested but i am worried for the beast... i am afraid that it will look awful like most CGI does.
I'm also wondering. I think he COULD look good. Disney's Zootopia, for example, has crazy good fur. It depends how much effort they spend I guess.

Eh, I'm sure I'll check this out. Grew up watching all the Disney classics.

Will echo the sentiments about Watson. Unsure about her playing Bell.

Gives me hope for a live action Aladdin film. Would be amazing if done right.

The live action adaptations are sticking to the Disney version of each fairytale, but with a different vision.

The mice from Cinderella for example no longer walk on 2 feet and sing, they're just regular mice that helps Cinderella.

The Jungle Book is relatively the same, but the animals are more realistic and the movie only has a couple recognizable songs.

The villains have more expanded backstories, but it's detrimental compared to their animated counterparts. Shere Khan is an exemption because of Idris Elba.
Dat voice~

The LA movies definitely go for a more realistic feel, but tried to keep some of the Disney magic.

Oh, and another thing about Cinderella, the LA Cinderella is a crybaby that gives up too easily compared to the animated version. Disney tried to create a more 'strong-willed' Cinderella, but she barely improved as a character.

Really makes me wonder what Aladdin would look like. As well as who the cast would be. And how cartoony the Genie would be in a real-world setting.

I enjoyed 'Maleficent' and 'Cinderella', so I'll definitely check this out. Missed 'The Jungle Book', though, but I'll watch it when it comes on HBO.

Golly I can't wait for Watson to wriggle her eyebrows and try to look sad all the time.

Seriously though, it looks like it will be visually impressive and I'm sure the rest of the film will make up for the weak casting for Belle.
