I never liked the original song, and don't like the cover, but that doesn't mean Disturbed isn't one of my favorite bands. Love their music in general.

I like pretty much all of Disturbed's stuff.
I find it hard to believe that people don't like this cover, too. Hell, even my 86 year-old grandmother loves it.

That version is so damn good.
I love the original, one of my favorite songs. This cover didn't do much for me.

Miley Cyrus' cover of 50 Ways is surprisingly good because I didn't know she has such a powerful voice. I don't like the flourishes because that's not a Paul SImon style, but still, it's pretty good.

I'd wager certain people would consider a cover "pointless" when either it simply feels uninspired, pretty much a straight copy, with the artist failing to put their own little stamp on it(or big stamp, as with some covers)... or you know, it just flat out sucks.
I don't consider this pointless, that's not for me to decide, but I certainly have no use for it.

no, it's not. "Aren't all covers pointless?" and they aren't, because good covers take a song (beautiful or bad) and turn it into a new meaningful experience. this is not the case of this cover, that simply takes the original and turn it to eleven, "I'm slower and quieter, now I'm shouting!" with more sons of anarchy clumsy atmosphere (granted, covers in that show were far more useless than this)

GAF gonna GAF, I've learned to deal and know my musical tastes do not align with 98% of the people here, there are a few exceptions though, which is good...
It's a legit good cover, people hear the name and automatically put a stigma on it, regardless.
I liked disturbed for a bit, my favorite was the Land of Confusion cover, if only for that really cheesy edgy animated music video..
