Just wondering. My Wii is hooked up to a monitor, so if the VC games only display in 480i, I wont be able to play them.

For what it's worth: it appears to be 480p to me. But I don't have the sort of HDTV that tells you what resolution something is being displayed at.

But I don't think it retains the normal aspect ratio. So games will be stretched and shit if you have a widescreen, unless you fumble around with your monitor settings. Unless they fixed that with a firmware update?

I believe they are. Only thing unless the game has an option to display in widescreen they will all be at 4:3 resolution.

Yes they do; mine says 480p. But I have to flip it to 4:3 or it does appear stretched on mine, not sure if it's the software or the TV but it obviously makes a huge difference to get it back into the original aspect.

its kinda both really....since 480p is a natively 4:3 resolution itself....your just telling your TV/Wii to "fake" the widescreen

Right. It makes a big difference to get it into 4:3, looks awful stretched.
