Do y'all still eat at Chic-Fil-A?

It's been about ten years so no. And it's not hard. You just don't go. I also never understood the appeal. It's all rather plain.

For me, it's great living in the South, there's better fried chicken choices everywhere. Chick-Fil-A is basically just, "oh they use peanut oil, ok". Half the supermarkets here have better chicken. There was this one place I used to go that I don't think exists anymore, but the guy used to marinate his chicken in crab boil for about an hour before frying it, mannnn

Marriage is 100% a religious institution. In the bible it says it is wrong for gays to marry and it's as simple as that. I didn't make these rules. However, it's obviously immoral that gay couples do not benefit the same social benefits that married couples do, but that can be fixed that by implementing civil unions that provide those benefits. No need to destroy an institution because you want to be a part of something you don't believe in. It makes no sense to me

Blah. It's how you interpret the bible. My father-in-law is a deacon for the roman catholic church and he's in his 80's, but he's very progressive thinking. He says simply love is love and god is never against something joyous. To get into details or distort passages to forward your views of exclusion is silly.

No, because I no longer live in the US. But if I did, I would. It's delicious.

Must be taken in moderation, though. I put on 20 pounds eating there for about 3 months.

LOL! You don't feel like you're helping to line the pockets of a company with questionable politics?

I don't go there for politics. I go there for chicken. They can believe what they want, it is their right. I can eat delicious chicken. It is my right.

Rarely after the whole issue that came up about them. Honestly this weekend was probably the first time in months I went. All the ones nearby are in bad locations and the line is always super long.

Never eaten at one. Wish that I could. Come to the Bay Area, Chik-Fil-A.
When I lived in Monterey (twice) for military training we took the drive and went to Sacramento for Chic-Fil-A it's in a mall up there. When you are from the south there is only so long you can go with no chicken places. We didn't even try to justify it with other plans we just went ha.

But it was like a 6 or 7 hr round trip. So I made new friends like Chipotle, Panda Express, and In and Out which didn't exist where I was from.

Maybe if you get that high speed rail from LA to SF you can go get some in Southland ha

i used to think people who ate there and were so-called progressive were just weak. i mean, who cares if you money goes to fund someone elses rights being taken away? The chicken sandwich is just so good! nom nom nom! Now i just realize that there is no such thing as "allies" and unless people are directly affected they dont care.

No. I like to eat food that is actually good.

WHAT

it's in the mall five minutes away from where I live and I still don't go too often. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, I guess?

Nothing will change if you do or don't eat there. Chic Fil A is fucking good and all of the employees that work there usually very nice. In fact I know a few owners and they are great people.

I don't support the ceo and his political thoughts. I do support waffle fries and chicken nuggets going into my belly.

Their "bigot" money has failed to stop much of anything nor is there any proof of it really doing anything at all. And they supposedly have changed their tune. Just look around at most of the shit you own and look up the company's history, you will probably be shocked. I will eat my Chikfila without worrying too much.

lol if you have qualms like this then don't do too much research into any of common products you buy, just try boycotting all Koch products for example. Good luck! If you wanna get started, go search for Chiquita + massacre, Coca-Cola + cocaine + cartel, Nestle + Slavery.

I found out that if you bring in a church bulletin on Mondays they will give you a free chicken sandwich. The only catch is you have to go to church or know someone who will pick you up a bulletin.
Unfortunately, they stopped doing that to my knowledge.

It was an easy extra sandwich for my family.

I tend to separate a CEO doing stuff with his paycheck and the company operations itself.

And yes of course I go on occasion. It's delicious. But I'm general I've also tried cooking more as it is usually quite a bit cheaper on average.

Nope, once I learned that Chick-fil-A's secret ingredient was powdered sugar, I now make deep fried chicken strips and nuggets even better than theirs.

I eat there regularly to support a company that gives all employees regular time off and treats them as something other than temporary wage slaves.

I've never thought twice about it

Same here. Dan Cathy opined about gay marriage (dude is entitled to have his opinion) I think the problem was that he should have realized, "hey I'm COO of Chic-Fil-A and I may invite some negative press for my company, maybe I should keep my mouth shut"

In this super politically correct climate there's certain things you just can't take the risk to say, especially when you represent a company private or public.

Still eat Chic-Fil-A to this day. Good chicken.

The company grew 14% the year after the furor and opened more stores than it had originally anticipated.

Since it's privately held it's difficult to say what, if any, impact the whole controversy had but it sure does seem like they are still in a pretty dramatic growth phase.

I don't go there because I don't want to be associated with the people that do. Obnoxious rednecks with their abortion stickers lining up by the truck loads to eat protest chicken. The worst are the protester protesters, the ones who love it just because other people hate it. They always have some dumb argument waiting to be provoked to justify why they eat their food.

What a crock of shit.

I'm too cheap to go there but I don't think the gay marriage controversy would stop me.

I'm paying corporations everyday to lobby against my interests. Unless I move to some libertarian colony I don't think there's anyway I can completely avoid this without a significant hit to my quality of life.

Fucking love me some Chic. The employees at mine are super well mannered so eating there or even going through the drive thru is a pleasure. Their politics mean jack shit to me as long as their food and service is good.

So contrarian. I there are various degrees of fast food - we have Mcdonalds at the bottom and Chic fil a at the very top.

What makes McDonalds last resort tier fast food, and Chic-fil-A "oh I can eat this so often" tier food? Taste has nothing to do with why fast food should be an occasional treat. Or are you mistakenly thinking that Chic-Fil-A is healthy?

When did I say it should be daily or that Chic is healthy? Mcdonalds is bottom tier FF and Chic is the best.

And I just think that Mcdonalds tastes like shit, the employees visibly hate their jobs and the restaurants are dirty.

They have one on my campus which I can use my imaginary money on and their breakfast is god tier.

So yes. I still eat at CFA.

I think that's my favorite part about going to chic fil a. They have the best service industry employees around, at least in my area. Top notch.

0_o The hell?

No, you seem to be mistaken in thinking that most people care about eating healthy. Taste, for the vast, vast, vast majority of people, is the number one deciding factor in what they eat. Taste has a lot to do with why people prefer one restaurant over another.

No. This has literally 0 to do with how you interpret the Bible. It is a FACT that marriage existed before the Bible. It isn't owned by the Jews, or Christians.

The point is that regardless of taste, both should be "last resort" or "occasional treat" tier food. At least for the majority of overweight Americans.

Lol I guess. I thought about it and I wouldn't have driven that far for sex I don't think lol. But then again the meal would last longer and I was able to take a nugget tray home with me with a vat of Polynesian sauce (before Chic-Fil-A introduction I think).

Let me put it this way, Roman Polanski is a fucking scumbag and deserves to be in jail but that doesn't stop me from loving Chinatown.
