Do you ever click on internet ads?

I occasionally click on them. There were some ads on GAF recently for some deals TheHut were running which I clicked on. It's usually only for stuff like that though, companies I am aware of advertising deals and such.

Never. I laugh heartily at their failed advertising. You fools are wasting your money. I won't shed a tear the day your website dies and all the other websites I visit are made more readable because you can no longer afford to advertise.

It's my computer, and unlike the oppressed TV viewers, I have the ability to completely block out your crap.

Advertising is the reason most of the internet is free. Without it expect all of your favorite stuff to go behind a paywall.

Infrequently. Maybe a 2-3 times a year?

Same. Very occasionally I'll see an ad for a product that genuinely does interest me although it's scary because I know these ads are only there because of things I've surfed on the internets.

Even if I search for a company like Amazon ... I click the actual web search link, not the web advertisement at the top.

Surprised at how few click ads. Personally, if I see something interest me, I'll click it. I probably end up clicking one every couple days or so. Obviously this doesn't apply to the stupid scam ads or whatever.

doesnt he get money from us just loading the ad?

fractions of pennies. if someone clicks, he gets a pennies. if someone buys after they click, we're talking whole dollars. still, a few million impressions worth fractions of a penny each ad (lol) up.

I've never intentionally clicked an ad in my life. I ignore them just like I do TV ads. Probably the most effective advertising is word of mouth, viral, and emails I'll get from amazon or other companies I've purchasd from in the past informing me of sales.

I'm not sure I've ever purposefully clicked an internet ad. And I really never notice them except around campaign season... like now where I can't help but see Romney and Santorum splashed all over every page I go to.

Only accidentally, like the ads that automatically play a movie trailer/commercial with sound, I end up clicking through accidentally while trying to mute the audio or whatever.

Otherwise, no. I've trained myself to ignore ads due to the scammy nature of most of them. Like those ones that look up your IP address and then say "10 hot single girls in <your town here> wanting to date you" with profile pics of pornstars or whatever.

I think I may have clicked a link or two for a F2P game that showed up in the ads, but I don't think I actually installed the game.

There was this one I kept seeing that said "Play Mega Man X online!" so I had give it a try. Awful, laggy, flash game that was using characters and graphics from MMX, but without any of the fun or level design.

I think I've blocked them from my brain. I don't notice them unless they are the ones that block the content of the website I am trying to view. Then I just leave in disgust.

There is only one reason I click on ads:

I enjoy the website I am on, and dislike the company advertising.

Take Lennar. That company is complete scum. So whenever I see an ad for them, I click.

Or if it's a scumbag politician.

Direct transfer of money from people I hate to people I support.

Can't go wrong.

in some cases "the man" are poor chaps like this;

Just look at how un-menacing that smile is. Do you feel good about yourself now?

No. I think they are dull and don't even try, also. Yet, as a reminder that X product or service exists, it works well.

Grandparents and kids may fall for them.

Occasionally I see stuff of interest from reputable sites and I'll check them. Maybe a few times per year. Though, I've never actually bought anything directly from an ad click.

Absolutely not. Most internet ads strike me as the kind of shady shit full of malware/spyware.

how else will i learn about the one weird tip, discovered by a mom, that can help me get rid of unsightly belly fat?
But this is what boggles my mind, enough people must actually click that stuff for it to be profitable otherwise they would stop doing it.

For those of us that completely ignore all ads its interesting to think about how we get most of the internet for free without ever contributing anything in return.
