Do you play many games at once or focus just on one?

One game at once. I just cant swap games, it kills my interest in both of them. Unless the game sucks but regardless, if I stop playing a certain game (after beating it or stop playing it) then 99/100 times I am not going back to that title ever again.

Neither many nor just one I guess. I play two at a time, one trading off with my girlfriend and another for when we can't be together since our schedules are quite different.

It has to be one proper single player game at a time, I cannot context switch at all with games

I can supplement it with a racing/ fighting or general multiplayer game but I could never juggle more than one single player game at the same time

I can play a few games at once but only if they're of differing types. Big single player experiences I can't really mix together, feels weird. I'll normally have a single player game I'm focusing on, a separate game I'm working through with my girlfriend and then multiplayer/sports sim stuff with my house mate.

Or like, I couldn't interchange between Nier Automata and Yakuza 0 at all as it felt odd but I'm happy to go from one of those to FIFA with a friend or something. Different levels of brain power.

I used to focus on just one at a time, and to a degree I still kind of do. But these days with all of the great releases coming out so close I've been dipping my toes into having two or three games going at a time and I've found that I have been making more progress on them this way than if I were to be focusing on just one. The variety helps and the feeling of holding myself hostage not being there is a nice boon.

I try keep it to 1 single player game and a few multiplayer, although it could be weeks between i play 1 of them due to time. I have recently bucked the trend, multiplayer is Battlefield 1, overwatch, Rainbox six, pes and Elder Scrolls online, and i was playing windwaker but sort of lost momentum as i got a new job and didnt game for a few weeks settling in. Iv recently started the last of us instead but after i will go back to finish windwaker.

I'll play multiple games but each in their own "timeslot".

Most of my time will be spent playing one game on console - at the moment it's XCOM 2.

When I'm watching a stream at night, I'll usually then play The Binding Of Isaac or Football Manager.

On the days where I'm not watching a stream, I'll play something portable and right now that's Breath Of The Wild.

With both the main and portable ones, I'll play those games through to completion before moving on.

It's not common for a game these days to grab my attention so hard that I don't play anything else. The only examples I can think of this gen are Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, Inside and Stardew Valley. Even then, Bloodborne and Inside are the only 2 I played to completion.

At the minute I'm floating between Rocket League, 10 Second Ninja, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Enter The Gungeon and I've just re-started Salt and Sanctuary. S&S seems like something I'll really enjoy though (I got as far as the 4th boss last time I started it) so I'm going to try and stick with it.

I'm all over the place.

Currently my gaming playlist is...
Cursed Castilla EX
Mad Max
Zelda BotW
Super House of the Dead Ninja

And I just grabbed Black Ops last night, so that'll be entering the rotation.

at best I have 2. One at home (usually console) and something to play on my work PC at lunch time.

Lately that's been Breath of the Wild on Switch at home and replaying Arkham Asylum on PC at work. I know I could have just brought the switch to work but I wanted some break from Zelda (before I beat it on the weekend, I was playing before work and for hours at night plus all weekend for 5 weeks solid). Now that Zelda's out of the way, it'll be either Yooka Laylee or Bioshock Infinite at home.

Usually one story oriented game at a time. So atm my main focus is on Persona 5, but I'm also playing Rocket League and Battlegrounds when I'm in the mood for multiplayer.

I tend to juggle a few.

Currently slogging through WD2 campaign.

Playing gears and TF2 multiplayer.

Playing game dev tycoon and crusader kings on the pc.

And finishing off zelda botw

Usually it's one SP focused game and 2 MP games so I don't burn myself out on gaming completely

1 per platform at a time.

Right now:
PS4 Nier
Vita World of Final Fantasy
WiiU Hyrule Warriors
Swith Nothing, beat Zelda already
3DS Dragon Quest 8
PC Shantae on my GPD
Xbox Nothing in a long time

I try to focus on just one, but it rarely pans out that way. At the moment I'm playing Horizon on my PS4, Guacamelee on the Vita and dabbling in stuff on my phone. I also had the PS3 out last week to play a bit of Sega Mega Drive Collection and Burnout Paradise. I've been trying to focus on just Horizon, but I don't have a lot of time for gaming at the moment and a big, deep, story-driven game isn't the best thing for that situation.

I used to play tons of games at once and never finish anyone, until a year or two ago...I changed to beat one game at a time and honestly, I prefer that. The experiences are much better imo and I actually finish more games than before.
But sometimes...I still play 2 games at once, one on my PC and one on my console.

I usually finish what I've started but I have a couple in progress right now and a couple on the shelf.

Rise of the Tomb Raider and Darksiders Warmastered Edition are my current play-throughs. I have FFXV and The Last Guardian sitting on the shelf waiting for inspiration to go back to them. Both of them kind of left me cold earlier in the year.

Single player? Focus on one.

I can't understand people who play like 3-4 single player games at the same time, then get bored and buy the new single player release day one anyways, and that one happens to be a sequel to that other game they didn't play for more than 4 hours, they get bored again and come to GAF to complain about how "it didn't click" with them or how "they're bored of videogames" or "are you also losing interest in videogames?".

I guess it's money for the developers anyways so keep that nonsense running if you may.

I've been making a conscious effort to stick with one game at a time in an effort to get the most from the experience and to also curb my spending habits.

I still don't necessarily complete every game I start, but I'm only focusing on one game at a time and won't move on to the next until I reach a point where I'm done with what I'm currently playing.

Used to play many games at once but now it's 1 hardcore game(Zelda and then dark souls) and maybe in between I'll play casual games pick up games like Mario Kart.

Once I got older I forced myself to focus on one, also limits my purchases

Generally three; a console game at home, a portable game on the commute and in bed, and WoW.

There's also occasional 'quick blast' games if I want a short-term burst - random Flash things, short Forza Horizon sessions (usually playing through a Forzathon), quick phone puzzlers - but all those are generally pretty disposable affairs, rather than ongoing campaigns.

Currently that's Zelda, Dragon Quest VII (I usually try and avoid having both be big bulky RPGs or expansive adventures, but timings have worked out awkwardly at the moment) and WoW.

Generally I'll have 1 single player game and 1 or 2 multiplayer.

Right now I'm not playing anything single player as Drawn to Death is taking all my time.

I try to play one game at a time, but usually I have one main focus and I screw around with a handful of other games. Your completed games list is pretty good though.

This year I have finished:

Xenoblade Chronicles X
Final Fantasy XV

That's it.

I'm putting time into BOTW, Persona 5, the original Legend of Heroes, and Fire Emblem Birthright.

I stopped playing Final Fantasy XIV, which is where a lot of gaming time went. MMOs really make completing games difficult.

Depends on the game. I'm still playing Zelda so most of my gaming time goes into that. If I wasn't playing that I could do 3 or 4 games. The only thing recently I have played besides Zelda is some multiplayer stuff and some Shovel Knight.

I'm on break from FF14 but once Stormblood releases that'll be the only thing I play until I reach lv.70

For myself it's always one at a time - the idea of doing otherwise is as unfathomable to me as watching multiple movies or reading multiple books at the same time.

The exception is co-op games with my husband and/or kids which are limited to schedules & time constraints.

If I like a game - it's the only one I am playing. If not then I'll dabble in different ones until another one I really like comes along and then it's that one only until I am done. Seems logical to me. If nothing does come along for a long time I'll replay a favourite of mine almost exclusively too. I like focusing on just one game that I really like.

I usually juggle a bunch of games but usually just one of each type. For example, all March I was playing Horizon Zero Dawn as my main, story focused single player game but I also played Forza Horizon 3 Blizzard Mountain as my racing game when I just want to chill out and I took a weekend to beat Deadpool since I wanted a smaller experience as well.

Now I'm slowly playing through Breath of the Wild but I'm also playing Pokemon Moon and just beat Ryse: Son of Rome this weekend because I wanted a smaller experience.

Focus on one or two max, usually just one until it's done.

Sometimes, I'll do one singleplayer game and one multi just to have variety.

I feel like if I play too many games at once, they will never get finished.

I can't play more than one, cause than I wouldn't finish any. I can't focus on two games, altough I really wished I could.

Multiplayer games is fine, I can play whenever.

I only play one single player game at a time. I have no idea how people switch between multiple games.

Multiplayer games are a bit different.I don't have any problems switching between them since they're mechanic/gameplay driven as opposed to narrative driven.

I generally focus on one story-driven game at a time. In addition to that, however, I do some mobile gaming and will dip into couch co-op games with my significant other.

I focus on one and stick with it so long that i lose interest in the games i bought recently.......my steam backlog is really just a dumpster as i'm not sure when I'll ever get to them.

I like to have 1 game that I focus on but only if its a game that is a real gem. If I don't have a Halo or Zelda etc then I think it's best to have at least 2 games on the go so that I can change when bored or stuck.

Mostly just one singleplayer game at a time. It depends on the scale/genre really. I sometimes mix playing one open world game and a more linear shooter for instance, depending on the mood. Right now I'm still chipping away at The Witcher 3, so still many hours to go (haven't finished main story yet).

Multiplayer is a totally different approach however, depending on the friends I have online to play with. I currently play FIFA, Rocket League, The Division, Halo 5, Awesomenauts, Destiny, Overwatch, Titanfall 2 and Gears of War 4 with friends, or Hearthstone and Elder Scrolls: Legends when I want to decompress. Player of many, master of none I guess.

Typically focus on one. If that game is one is hard to play in short periods I might have a backup game for if I have less than 30 min to play which is pretty frequent for me.

I also have psvr which I can only really play once a week so I don't really consider that part of my game rotation.

I usually swap between a handfull of games. The only time I concentrate on a single title is the first week prior to release.

One game at a time or otherwise I lose interest in some of them. The problem is my backlog keeps billing up. I've never had so many sealed games waiting to be played.

One game at once for single player experiences, but I will throw the occasional game of Destiny, Overwatch or FIFA into the mix alongside it. Simple short multiplayer games that I can switch my brain off for and everything is muscle memory.

I won't start another single player game until I'm done with another.

I usually play only one game at a time because otherwise I feel distracted too fast. I want to fully get immersed and dive into one game, it's story and characters. Exception to that are games without story for short burst etc. like Tetris or Super Mario Run.

Two technically. One on console and one on handheld. Playing ME:A (PC) and Dragon Quest VII (3DS).

I don't really count MP games (Rocket League/Halo 5) as playing multiple games at once, because I usually just play them for an hour or so with friends, then back to the single player experience as mentioned above.

Last game where I focused on one was Bloodborne, nothing else was compelling enough to make me multitask. But generally I'm pretty bad at sticking to one thing. I'm currently midway through the campaigns of

Doom
Infinite Warfare
Far Cry 4
The Witcher 3
Oh and...Bloodborne NG+
Probably a few smaller ones.

Gaming ADD is a bitch, lol.

One story games at a time. My favorite thing about video games are the stories. When I am active in a game it's like I'm mentally taken over by everything that's happening within it. I can't break that by starting up another story.

From multiplayer, I could pick up as many as I feel like. Sometimes my hands will feel weird if I am playing shooters that are slightly different in control and movement.

Most of the time I'll be playing a single game until I finish it. I don't usually platinum games, unless the game is tons of fun, so I'll finish all the possible endings and play a little New Game + if it has any.

Unless I'm playing another indie game at the same time. Something like The Binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon, in which case I'll play the one game and come back to the indies for a short round or two.

I will always try to finish a game before I move on to another. It's the reason why I got Nioh but haven't started playing it because my copy of Persona 5 arrives today. I'd have to drop Nioh and come back to it later, and I almost never do that.

Basically 3 or 4 at a time unless something huge comes out, like Zelda, and I drop absolutely everything (sometimes including responsibilities) and just chew on that until I hit the bone.

I like playing games having a good story driven single player campaign. So, just like a movie, focus on only one at a time. However, now losing interest mid way as most of them are open world 30-40 hrs long games.

Usually I focus on one, but sometimes the process of choosing that one involves playing a bit of a bunch of different games first.
