Do you prefer a white or black mouse cursor?

I'd never even noticed it before but you lot made a believer out of me. Now i'm rocking the inverted but i'd like it if the I bar for text entry had a little subtlety. It also amuses my ADHD without overwhelming it so it's all good!

Praise the Inversion!
Yea, the I bar text entry thing is my only main complaint. Otherwise it's gold.

One of us, one of us!

I just use the default one, which is white. I guess I grew up with the white cursor and saw it as the interacto-normative cursor, but I wouldn't say that it's given me any sort of negative prejudice against black cursors. I'd like to think I treat all cursors the same, as long as they all perform the functions to the best of their certified design limits. Perhaps in a perfect world, the first computer we get would have started up with a randomized cursor color, but there's no sense in fretting about the design intentions and comparative advantages of the original designer of the white cursor. The best we can do is to be open minded and accept each cursor as its own unique design. Sure, I might dislike a certain cursor for being, say, a animated hand on an old geocities page, but that has nothing to do with the actual color of the cursor itself.

Hahaha oh wow.

White, although I've never really thought to change it.

Looking at the defaults windows options now, the black one has way too big a tail, and the inverted one makes me feel like I'm tripping balls.

White with black outline.

I think the black with white outline looks sleeker, but sometimes when you want to hide the cursor it's nice to be able to stick it off to the side and only have a single black pixel off in the corner rather than a single white one, since it is less noticeable.

White. I try to have as little whitespace as possible on the screen (dark theme, etc.) so a white cursor helps me keep track of it.

I never even considered changing it from white before, but it does seem like black with white outlines would be harder to lose, which is a problem with multiple monitors or hooked up to a TV.

EDIT: Why doesn't it change the link select cursor too? Seems like that would make it easier to lose since you're eyes are now scanning for a black cursor, but the cursor is white because it happens to be resting on a link.

default white. the last time i changed my cursor was on my Amiga 500 where they let you simply draw a new cursor. that was neat.

i just have bad memories of custom pointers being associated with my relatives ending up with malware on their computer

I never gave it much thought, so default. Though I'm on call for certain tech issues so if I get woken up in the middle of the night sometimes it takes me a really long time to locate the default white Windows cursor while my eyes adjust. I think I'm going to try the zoomed in black setting for a bit and see how I like it.
