Do you remember your first day of School.

On the latest PlayerOne Podcast, this was discussed with one of the hosts kids.

I for some reason still remember my first day of school.

To quote what I posted on the podcast thread.

I still remember my first day of school.

It wasn't my mother and father that took me there (they had to work), it was my grand mother.

I do remember entering the class room and watching a kid being hit by his mother because he messed up another's kid notebook. Kinda funny looking at it, the mother smacked the kid for every page that he messed up.

I do remember sitting down and maybe coloring something.

Then....... I noticed that my grandma was gone.

I began to ask where my grandma was.

I started crying and running to the door and I think it took 2-3 to hold me back.

I passed out crying.

I woke up sitting down and face down on the table.

The teacher looks at me alerted and says to me "Relax, Your grandma will pick you up soon"

Do you still remember?

Screamed and cried when my mother left me. Sat on a tiny plastic bridge. Think I got a cookie.

A vague blur. Very traumatic.

Yeah, it was kinda cool day. Didn't like the food it was some milk based soup, horrible. Overall everything went well and I made some friends from the day one.

Road up on my bicycle, walked in smoking a marlboro and drinking a scotch...kicked my boots up on the desk and said, well, lets start this sheet.

And by that I mean...I probably sniffiled a little bit, sat down, looked at the clock and waited for my mother to pick me up.

I remember my first day of middle school. We had just moved to that town, so I was already a bit freaked out. I got lost in the halls and started crying. Someone stole my packed lunch from my bag and I had to borrow some money from a teacher to get something to eat. I didn't make any friends that whole week.

Good times.

Kindergarten yes, but only fleeting memories of preschool. My sister was upset that I was leaving so I gave her a toy to hold on to until I got home. Everything about it was weird - the school bus, getting milk, lining up, etc.

Vaguely remember being dropped off. I recall my parents making a big deal about it but I didn't give a fuck because I had some bad ass Reeboks:

I remember my first day of kindergarten and reacted pretty much like the first two posts. Cried and didn't want my mom to leave me there. ended up skipping kindergarten and first grade because I had to go to south africa for like half a year for my uncle's wedding, but I do remember the first few days of first grade

Yep, I still remember. The day before school my mom took me over and showed me how to get from the entrance of the school to my classroom. She dropped me off the next morning and I walked in like a boss amid lots of other kids who were crying. I was sat at the blue table (the superior table), and for snack we had green Kool-Aid and knock off brand Oreos. Some kids dipped the cookies, which I found disgusting.

I have a very foggy recollection of it. The school is gone now but I can still picture standing in the crowd of kids and parents at the side entrance, waiting for a teacher to come out and organize everything. I remember my first encounters with a few longtime schoolmates out there. I remember nothing about actually being in the school that day.

First moment I walked in the room.

Me: Hi! Wanna be friends? :)
Other kid: No! *walks away*

That was my entire schooling life in the first 5 seconds.

I remember my mom dropping me off on my first day of kindergarten and me crying. That's about it.

I love being an adult.

I rode the bus on my first day of kindergarten. I only remember getting on the bus and waving to my parents as it pulled away.I have plenty memories from the year itself but that's it for the first day.

I went to a daycare that was in the same building as my elementary school. So I was going to that school since before I can remember.

As for my first day of kindergarden, there's a picture of me standing on the front steps of my house dressed up ready for my first day of school and I vagely remember posing for the photo but nothing else that happened that day.

I remember my first day of nursery school when I was 3, but I don't remember my first day of kindergarten. But who knows if my memory's accurate. Maybe I just have a vivid memory of the first time I met my friend Alan and decided to make that the first day I went to nursery school.

I remember my mom and dad running around one morning and making me put on clothes and then they put me on a bus. That's about all I remember.

Obviously OP doesn't remember much from school, what with the poor grammar in the title.

jk

Personally I only have fuzzy memories, though the impressions are...deep. My first grade teacher was a word that I don't use often. Keeping kids from going to the bathroom to the point that they'd wet themselves, and such. Gave me a healthy distrust of teachers, though I admit to having far more great teachers than bad ones.

First day of kindergarten I remember crying when my dad had to leave me. Then this girl (who I still know today although don't talk to often) told me it'd be okay. And that's about it.

I can recollect very little from that day. I remember everyone except one kid wearing the right uniform. He was wearing jeans, and he was crying. I thought that was kind of funny. We became best friends later down the line, a relationship which continued until he did something unforgivable 12 years later.

I remember being super excited going into Pre-K and Kindergarten. It wasn't until my first day of First grade where I became nervous and cried after my mom dropped me off. =/

Yes, because it was the first time my mom told me what my first name was, and to listen for that instead of my middle name since that's what I go by.

No.

I barely remember the first year in school, and think I've kinda conflated it with my second and possibly third year in school.
I somewhat remember pre-school though, but not in any details.

remember it pretty clearly actually. still remember some kid clinging to the door with all this strength as he didn't want to get in.

All I recall is that within a couple of minutes of entering class another kid had dubbed me "weirdo", and by the end of the day everyone was calling me that. Some girl drew a picture of herself stabbing me to death in crayon. So began a decade of horrible bullying.

I have a few fragmented memories of my first year at school.

I remember some kid putting his feet/shoes on the table like he was "the boss" and I was pissed off by this because he was disrupting class.

I was essentially the anti-Class Clown for many years.

I remember it well. My family had just moved into a new house, and my teacher had assigned a neighbor of mine as my "bus buddy" (anyone that lived near each other was paired up). Cut to the end of the day as my "bus buddy" ditched me, and I ended up getting on the wrong bus. My furious parents ended up retrieving me from school an hour or two later.

Every month or so I'll have a nightmare about not being able to find the right bus (17-18 years later).

Parts of it. I remember sitting on the teacher's chair, that was the first thing I did when I got in to my classroom. I also remember tripping down stairs and crying.

My first day of school was August 26th 1980. I was five and I liked to steal things. That day I went home with a firetruck another kid brought with him. I'm sure it gave him comfort to have something familiar to hold onto in this strange environment, forced to endure what was essentially a bunch of wild apes thrown into a box. My mom asked me where I got the firetruck. I told her my friend gave it to me. That kid was an easy mark. In fact, all kids are easy marks. It was a good first day.

Nope... I don't think so. Kindergarten was a long time ago man.

I may remember a few flashes of my first day of Grade 1. I recall one kid who would not leave his mother. He was crying, rolling on the floor and holding his mother's leg.

I don't think it was particularly traumatic though. I'll have to ask my mom some time!

As someone mentioned, I DO recall my first day of University quite clearly. I also recall my first day of high school (terrifying crap!)

edit: oh yeah! I went to pre-school. I was SUPER young at that point. NO memory of that stuff.

Yep. My first time interacting with other English kids. I couldn't speak a word of English so when it was time to drink milk (something we do in the classroom in the morning break) the kids made motions with their hands to say that I had to drink the bottle of milk with the straw provided.

That's all I remember.

no, but i do remember my first day of high school. vividly. the day i chose not wear a bra, just a short sleeved shirt, because it was such a beautiful morning was the day it rained.

so yeah: 14 year old me walking about at dinner time arms crossed trying to hide my modesty.

Nothing either too magical / traumatizing for me. I remember that I fell in with two guys that were kind of assholes but kind of my friends. Which is pretty much how most of my schooling went.

I started with pre-school so I don't remember a thing. But my mom said that I stayed by the window the whole time, and it took a couple weeks before I got acclimated to the environment and started doing my own thing, which was origami. Had no problem transitioning into elementary school.

No, but I do remember one of the first days of nursery school I bit my nails so hard on the bus they started to bleed. And I still haven't kicked that habit 35 years later.

I remember my first day. i was nervous and scared. My mom and aunt came with me. When i was walking to the door, i looked back and my mom and aunt told me to go inside.
