Do you shower at your gym?

Na, 5 minutes and I am at home and they charge you extra for showers.

As I served in the Army for almost 15 years I am kinda used to take showers (and other activities where you weener sees the daylight) together with others, so that doesn't play a role.

Is this an american thing?

Where I live (central europe) it's not an issue at all. We only have what a poster called "gangbang showers" and there's never been a problem, and no complaints from anyone... EXCEPT people from north and south america. My american friends always go home to take a shower, and my mexican/ecuadorian friends have stated several times that they find the idea of seeing each other naked super strange, and to be avoided.

To me, it's weird that they think about it so much.

Back when I went to the gym (I now workout in my apt), I always showered. flip flops and baby oil are a must. Working up a sweat and then putting on your clothes without showering first is gross.

The gym I belong to for years had gangbang showers, and I never used them unless I was in a bathing suit (like if I was going swimming). The gym I belong to now has really nice showers so I usually take one if i'm not in a rush, even if I am heading directly home

Tell me more about these gangbang showers. Is everyone welcome, or do you need an invitation?

OT: of course I shower at the gym, I'm not an animal.

I sometimes do but the changing room at the gym I go to is absolutely tiny and if you go during peak times you're practically touching butts and feeling rushed to get out of people's way so I prefer not to.

No. I live ten minutes away from my gym, walking distance, so usually head there in my gym clothes already and then just shower when I get home. I go the gym five times a week usually, so showering there would get annoying.

I shower in my gym. There is one guy here who goes into the shower fully dressed, has his shower, and comes back out fully dressed. I've never asked him why, but my guess is it's either because he's painfully self conscious or else it's for religious reasons.

lmao at all the people in fear of seeing a dick. No one is there for either seeing your dick or putting theirs in your face. And it's not like people go there to pee, shit or cum all over the showers.

I can understand if the showers are in a bad state but if they're clean just take a shower there. Use sandals though, that's true.

Yes always. Isn't it the norm?

I think comments like "eewww there are naked (old) people, disgusting" and so on are very mean spirited.

If you don't want to go just because or because you're shy, that's completelly ok.
But I have the impression if you say things like this, you don't have much respect to people overall (because it's quite mean to think about others like this imo) and haven't accepted how mankind's body are shaped. You don't have to wonder if everyone finds you disgusting when you are old then.
Besides that, you don't have to look at other people.
But propably I interpret too much.

No because my gym is located like 300 meters away from my home.

Nudity is no issue at all considering I'm from Finland and we sauna naked together with friends as well as strangers for pretty much our whole life. It's in our culture. I also have a sauna in my home so I don't see the need to use the gym sauna.

The petri dish of germs known as the gym shower floor is real.

About 8-9 years ago I was an idiot and didn't wear sandals in the showers. After just a few weeks of going to that gym I got a nasty foot fungus. It took years for my toe nail to fully heal where it wasn't brittle. Might have healed faster if I took antibiotics but I didn't have health insurance, so I was using over the counter medicine and home remedies.

I still take showers at the gym when I have time, but I touch absolutely nothing. I wear sandals and I carry a small bag with my own shampoo and soap. I try to touch dry surfaces only, otherwise I use a plastic bag. You don't want to get touchy feely with a gym shower unless you want to walk away with jock-itch and foot fungus.

Yes, of course. The showers at my gym are way nicer than the one at home. And I work out on my break in the middle of the day. Plus, my gym has towel service.

I don't have issues with being nude or whatever, it's not a big deal for me compared to people whk like to freak out about it. Actually the old guys at my gym are all really nice, but the joke about old guys hanging around naked and hairy balls everywhere applies to young naked hairy guys too. Who cares, not everyone is a never nude like your prude ass, get over it.

If I live close then no, the bathrooms are usually fucking nasty and I'm not bringing all my skin/hair/beardcare products to a fucking gym.

In topics like this its always the same, some people that seem to take pride in showering in a nasty gym shower. If you want to do it, go for it, but no need to call others prudes.

Always shower at the gym. The weird thing is a working lady can just walk in while you're showering and see you full nude, they're pretty young too

Finland here too and no problems with nudity. Sauna culture and all. BUT I live a 5 minute walking distance away from my gym so I just go to my home to shower.

Yeah I've seen this in Finland too in swimming facilities. I never got that. Why is it ok for a woman to just walk in, no problem? Seen that a lot in swimming halls and I never got used to it. We have always had strict "no men allowed on the women's side" rule and for a good reason, but why is this so blatantly not enforced the other way around? I have no problem with nudity like I said when it's shower but even I don't want to be seen naked by random ladies casually.

I do and it's really convenient. I go to the YMCA before work in the morning, so I have no choice but to shower at the gym. It's one of this big room showers but whatever, it doesn't bother me.

Yeah always. I'm in London so need to get public transport home (or go back to work) and sitting next to smelly people is no fun. Luckily our place has about a dozen shower stalls.

If im not going home after gym then yes. But only if I remember to bring my flip flops. Once I went in there without one... I felt things with my feet that scarred me for life.

Depends if I'm heading straight home or not. If I'm just going home anyway I'll shower at home since I have all my toiletries there, but if I'm going out or to work, I'll just shower at the gym.

I'm one of those poor saps who keeps the towel around his waist while I carefully change in and out of my shorts. And I stand directly in front of my locker while doing it.

After seeing a dude shaving his balls in the shower, you can probably guess what my answer is going to be.

I now live on the floor of that shower.

I only use the shower if I'm going somewhere after the workout, if I'm going home straight after the gym I shower at home. If I use the shower at the gym I also use the sauna, feels really nice after a hard workout.

Interesting
If I have to shower with other people I prefer them to be ladies.
