Better D-Pad.
Better Face buttons.
Better Bumpers.
Built-in Battery.
Good list. I'll add two:
Use Bluetooth and not some lame proprietary RF (won't happen but I can dream)
Please make it communicate via cord when cord is attached

I do think that the ergonomics will bring some different results between a PS3 and a Xbox 360 controller because they are not identical when it comes to the grip/how you hold it. The PS3 controller's handles goes a bit more out to the side i think, which positions your hands a bit differently compared to when your holding a Xbox 360 controller. Personally i feel no strain on my thumbs at all, even after hours of usage, so it seems to be designed ergonomically correct for my hands. There's nothing wrong with preference, but the 360 controllers ergonomics are clearly superior. surly exemplified why earlier in this thread with his post. The way the 360 controller is designed, your hand placement makes your hands gravitate towards the most used elements of the controller, with the least strain on your thumbs (as the DS4 requires a larger angle of separation between your thumb and index finger). This all seems like micro-analysis, but it all matters, and the minute differences are exactly what make a controller's ergonomics what they are.
I dont mind that people comment on it, it was just the "hilarous" part that made me ask, wondering why it was hilarious that someone had another opinion (unless i missed some specific posts that it was referring to who said something else than just "i prefer asymmetrical/symmetrical analog sticks)That's just how these threads go sadly.
Sure, i think that it is possible to objectivly improve those things indeed, but i was just thinking about what people prefer to use. If someone say that they prefer the Xbox 360 face buttons instead, then that is the correct thing for themComplaints about the d-pad are not subjective. They are objective. The d-pad is fundamentally flawed. It is hard to impossible to get consistent, accurate 8-way directions from it. It has one job to do, and it doesn't do it.
The hard, lumpy face buttons are also objectively a bad design. They might not bother you, but that doesn't mean their design is good.
The rest of the stuff is fair enough. Personal preference and personal ergonomics.
I understandYour opinion is vastly different than the people I'm talking about. I'm able to use both PS3 and 360 controllers with little problem. I do prefer specific things like the buttons on PS3 and the analog sticks and triggers on the 360 but either way would not be an issue for me.
It's a bitch for shooters. That dead zone can make all the difference! Remember how bad N64 controllers were? MY GOD.I'd love this. Few indie PC devs think to provide any kind of dead zone adjustment (or dead zones at all) for analog gamepad controls, so there's usually drift with even slightly used 360 pads. I had to toss an otherwise functional wireless pad last year because there was too much drift on the left stick for even the 360's tolerance. I like the feel of the 360 sticks better than the looser ones on Sony's controllers, but at least those things can keep a center![]()
Not sure why people want internal batteries.
so inconvenient.
This bad boy is almost perfect.

Don't fuck it up Microsoft.
Change it so that it uses the same HID/XID as the PS4. That way, controllers compatible with both consoles (like steering wheels) will be more common. Who hasn't looked at a Logitech G25 and though "damn, if only I could use THIS on my 360"...
I think it needs a major redesign to be honest. to me, it feels very uncomfortable. Way too bulky.
At least they should include an akku, and replace that god awful d-pad. doing something against the cheap plastic feel would also be appreciated.
Hell no, The thing is perfect, if anything it is too small compared to the controller S. Not everyone has tiny hands to use the ds3.
controller S is pretty much the same size as the 360 controller.

I have quite large hands, mind you. The controller still feels off. Less bulkier doesn't mean smaller.
Put a screen on it
Put a screen on the console
Heck, put a fucking screen on me
