Do you wash your hands before gaming?

Yes, every time. Whether it is I am about to touch my keyboard+mouse or my DS4 controller, I always make sure my hands are clean. Especially after eating and being outside.

I wash my hands often enough and in a timely manner, so I don't usually worry about it specifically before playing video games.

I tend to wash my hands whenever I switch activities or do something in the kitchen.

The feeling of greasy, grubby hands is a terrible one. I once had a roommate who would snack on Doritos, lick his fingers, and touch XBox controllers and tv remotes. Disgusting.

Well unless my hands are dirty from food or something I pick up my DS3 right away.

If I'm playing PS4 though I always wash my hands. I'm still babying this beauty.

I do the same. I also make people wash their hands before using my ps4 or touching any of my game discs.

I've seen some pretty nasty game discs and have always made sure my hands are clean before I touch them.

Yeah, though I don't care if others do (for my kids as long as their hands aren't sticky it's fine).

My hands are really sweaty most of the time so I like to wash them before I play games or use my computer.

Pretty much every time.
When having guests, I also ask them nicely to do so and when they leave, peripheral is to be desinfected. Even though the last part depends on the person.

I also usually don't eat while gaming, except it's something non-oily and even then, very rarely. Chips and such tasty stuff is a total no-go when playing with a controller.

Besides that, I wash my hands multiple times in a row after arriving home and once when they get sweaty/oily by themselves.

I, like others in the thread, am always washing my hands, so it's isn't exclusive to right before a gaming session. When it comes to gaming, I don't eat and touch things. I'll have a beverage with me, but I don't handle food items, pick up the controller and repeat. If I have to have a snack, I wash before and after.

I remember back in the SNES days...A friend and I were sharing a bag of pretzels, I noticed he started rubbing his fingers all over his greasy nose and face, place his hand in the bag, eat the snack and handle the controller. I stopped eating the snacks. He then dug out stuck pretzel outta his teeth, place his hand in the bag and go right back to gaming. He was a good guy, but oblivious to how his personal hygiene affected our gaming time.

I'm experiencing similarities with my friends even today. For instance if they're heavily sneezing into their hands for multiple times, rubbing it about their face and touching the controller right after. I don't mind it as it can't be helped. That's why I tend to desinfect after they leave.

Yes, it's so gross when I play on my friend's greasy, dried cum controller. I do that to the whole house when using a computer or a console.

If my hands are dirty, I wash them. So no, I don't usually have to wash them just to play a game.

Sure I may get a slight bit of dirtiness (and germs) on them but nothing major and never any greasiness (also nobody else uses my controllers, so no worry of sharing germs). I can't stand the controller being noticeably dirty. Damp wash cloth and a sewing needle to clean out the groove where the front/back of the controller meet.

I'm skittish about that as well, since I cough or sneeze into my arm instead of my hand. I go through my same practice at others homes and with their personal items that I would like to have done. With that said...It's easier to disinfect controllers, remotes, doorknobs 'n such than give them a hard time about those things. And when it comes to food items...I just stop eating from the same serving container.

Plus! It's hard to ignore it when you see it happening. I handle many items at shows and conventions that have been covered in who-knows-what, but I'll always hit the restroom for a handwash.
