Does anyone else have a go-to "comfort game"?

WoW.

It's like going home to sleep in your childhood bedroom.

Gonna have to say WoW for me as well. Whenever I feel like playing something but can't decide on something in particular, it usually ends up being WoW. Whenever I don't really know what I feel like doing, I end up hopping on WoW. It's just so easy to think of/find something to do in the game "for just a few minutes" (even if that always turns into an hour) that doesn't take much effort or planning or involvement of other people.

Have tried to make FFXIV do that instead, but it just hasn't happened yet after a year.

With the exception of MvC2 in the below list it's basically any game that I enjoy speedrunning or doing tricks on.

Crysis Warhead(I just load some save points of favorite spots)
Tetris
Halo 1(AOTCR/SC)
Halo 2(High Charity/Delta Halo)
Super Mario World
SM 3D World
TMNT3
Mega Man X

MvC2(Arcade mode against A.I)

Yoshi's Island, although more recently Shovel Knight I think. Undertale has that potential, although I need to give it time to play it again, I know that when I replay it I'll get a whole bunch of oozy feelings.

Earthbound, Chrono Cross or PSO are definitely my comfort games. Just love the lightheartedness / mellowness of those games.

Resident Evil/REmake is I think the one game I can play anytime, anywhere, and enjoy it.

A Link to the Past and Mario 64 are always instantly gratifying no matter how burned out I am on them (ie never), but they take a bit longer to see through from start to finish.

Usually some sort of multiplayer FPS. Just run, shoot, repeat until I'm feeling relaxed. CoD is usually the default choice because I can zone out and not get too competitive. Halo and Titanfall I love but I tend to get aggro if I play too long.

Shenmue. It's just such an atmospheric game. I get lost in Shenmue's world so easily and it makes me feel great. Which is kind of ironic since you've just become an orphan... but still.

A Link to the Past

I feel so comforted and full of awe each time I start that game. I'm playing it through again right now on the n3DS.

Best game of all time.

I'm mostly a PC gamer, but Dynasty Warriors has been my go-to for ages now. There's nothing like depopulating half of China to de-stress.

Roller Coaster Tycoon. I've been playing since it came out and I go back at least once a year when I need something relaxing to play. To be honest, it's probably my favorite game of all time.

Been playing a lot of Parkitect lately. Love that game.

Back in the day it was Street Fighter 2. I'd just do a few rounds on arcade and i'd feel better.

Lately i've been playing a lot of Mirrors Edge Catalyst if I feel too overwhelmed to play a more demanding game. Just running around, getting collectables and trying to climb up to odd pieces of geometry.

Banjo Kazooie, particularly the Freezeezy Peak level.

That goat Music.

Destiny. There is something thereupetic about jumpig into the game and just running random quests and bounties. Love it so much.
