Does anyone else in Xbox One has a horrible launch lineup?

I am more excited for the 3rd party lineup. None of the exclusive games offer something brand new (or convince me that what they offer is new and interesting).

The Order 1886 and Infamous Second Son look insanely good, but both seem to be coming out in 2014 (One early, one late).

Project Spark is confirmed to be in the launch window of Xbox One. :]
Which means 2014, unfortunately for those of us interested in something at or very near launch rather than six months later. Still, it deserves time to fully cook, just like anything striving to be more than just another installment with more shiny. Another thing to consider right now is that there is very likely to be more announced and shown at TGS and Gamescom. I expect so far-unrevealed Lionhead and Rare stuff at the very least.

I wont buy ps4 or xbone on launch. I bought wiiu last year and i still have ps360wii.. Plenty to play on that platforms.

So yeah at the moment neither launch looks good judging from my tastes.

Appreciate OP's point, but it's effectively: do you prefer Dead Rising, Ryse, Forza or Killzone, Drive Club, Knack. Both consoles have almost the exact same launch so you could say the exact same for PS4 (which I have; I'm not hugely excited about either launch line up). There's just enough between the two to excite me, but certainly I'm buying this christmas for the promise of next year.

MS has a better lineup than Sony.

Quite surprised actually.

Launch lineup or overall lineup? To be fair, most of Sony's studios haven't announced their PS4 games. Beyond Knack, Killzone, DriveClub, and The Order, we don't really know much about what's going on inside Sony. And I believe they promised they'd have 20 first-party titles in the first year.

If we're talking about launch lineup, they're okay for both systems. The only two games I'm really interested in atm are Knack and Watch Dogs. I'm not much of a Dead Rising fan, but when I eventually pick up an Xbox One, I'll probably get Dead Rising 3 just for the hell of it.

This is not true. There is n0 $60retail version. I watched every interview with the devs you can play it as a F2P where you buy charecters ala carte or you can download it as an XBLA style game and I think there is a 3rd version where you can get it with a season pass. Ken lobb has already stated it will not have bosses and from what everyone has said and even some ms marketing materials its jut a multiplayer game.

Going to have to ask for sources, because everything I've seen says the exact opposite. There's one F2P version where you play as Jago through the entirely of both the single player and multiplayer and have the option to buy characters you want or you can buy the full game that gives you access to all characters, but both versions offer the same base game in terms of single and multiplayer.

I've not heard of this season pass option. Link me please.

I actually kind of do.

I really want to buy one but my only reason is Forza 5 right now.

All the other games I can play on PS4, and pay $100 less for the system.

Kinda not making me want to wait to buy it honestly.

- Ryse
- Forza 5
- Dead Rising 3
- Killer Instinct
- Project Spark
- Lococycle
- multiplat games

- Fighting
- Racing
- Zombies
- Creative game
- Hack&Slash

Horrible launch? ha-ha-ha

I don't think either have that great of a launch lineup once you factor out 3rd party multiplats. Comparing the two though, I'm personally more interested in Dead Rising 3 and Killer Instinct more than any of the PS4's launch games. The Witness is pretty much the only thing I'm interested in over there that's day one.

Hopefully Sony and Microsoft will deliver at Gamescom and TGS. I have the PS4 pre ordered but apart from Killzone Shadow Fall the exclusive line up is pretty horrible imo. Multiplayer will make up for it though. Can't wait for Watch Dogs.

I'm also not even mentioning that double helix is a bad dev and even with their "new team" it's a big assumption to think the game will be good. People who have played it said its better an they thought but the vibe I get from MS is that there not serious about it just like they weren't about shadow run 360 and their previous attempts to use RAREs IPs

They also announced that Killer Instinct will be made available in various editions, including the standard package, collector’s bundles, and more.

There are MULTIPLE sources clarifying that the F2P thing was a misconception. There are streams where FilthieRich clarified the F2P thing and confirmed a retail version.

I want the timestamp, quote, or whatever from Klobb saying that he said that.

from what everyone has said and even some ms marketing materials

...what?

Stupid? Your post said that "Drive club also sounds like it will be better than Forza at least to me." What does this mean exactly?

Also this gem about KI - " Killer instinct has a big fanbase but they aren't handling that game properly. It could have been a real system seller if they played their cards rot instead of treating it like a goofy nostalgia trip on xbla."

What aren't they handling properly? Why is it a goofy nostalgia trip?

Forza doesn't look as appealing to me because as I said I'm not a sim guy I prefer arcade racers which drive club and NFS will be. Forza so far has better graphics and will probably be the meater game but its not my cup of tea. Also a lot of people were disappointed that the new Forza won't have day/night cycle, weather changes, and open world.

About KI they should have had RARE itself work on it instead of handing it to mediocre developer double helix and having rare pump out another kinect sports. It's a waste of their talent. They should have made an effort to get some of original guys back, get robin beanland to do a new soundtrack for the game, and make sure it had full single player and other features that are customary in modern fighting games like morta kombat, injustice, and ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 . It also should have been a full retail title when it comes out and not a "work in progress". Where they will slowly add characters and features over a "season" and "based on what the fans want". Doesn't seem like they have a vision for the game at all.

If Crimson Dragon is a launch game, then it will be a really great launch line up.

A game with the basis of Panzer Dragoon, developed by the original Panzer Dragoon team can't be called "horrible".

I think it has a great line-up actually. The bulk of the games I'll be getting will be the multiplats though. Cod Ghosts, BF4, Watch_Dogs, and Assassins' Creed 4. I also plan on picking up Dead Rising 3.

I could say the exact same for the PS4. The only exclusive I'm interested in is Killzone, along with the multiplatform games I mentioned above. These launch line-ups are fairly equal, from what I see.

What would that make the PS4 lineup? I was looking forward to Killzone but it looks like they haven't improved the controls and its barely hitting 30fps.

I will not be buying an XB1 at launch but their titles seem decent enough for a launch lineup. I was a huge Forza 2/3/4 guy but it really became stale after a while. Each new iteration was the same thing with a fresh coat of paint on it. I really want Turn10 to actually IMPROVE the series by adding better shit like day/night cycles, weather, better REAL drag racing, not that fake ass shit where im spinning my tires no matter what I do kind of drag racing (which they said they fixed in F4 but they didnt). As for Ryse, it sounded like a great idea until I heard all of the impressions on how its a QTE fest and you cant really 'lose'. Everything else is out on PS4 and will *probably* run or look better visually. As for people who are only going to buy an XB1, that launch lineup should hold them over until some other stuff comes out.

Launches have mediocre games. News at 11.

Also this.

No system has ever been made by its launch lineup. Look at the PS3 now releasing in my opinion one of the best games of this generation (TLOU) at the END of a generation. Each system will have its games, just take a look at this gen and see which titles you enjoyed more and that system should not disappoint you.

Forza has a rabid fanbase that isn't on GT's level, but is there. I am in the same point as you honestly as far as racing games go. It is a big launch title though; that much isn't even in question.

Rare isn't Rare any longer so them not doing KI isn't a big deal to me at all. Can you link me to what you are talking about here? Thanks

I think both are lacking, and will take some time to build good libraries.. it's why
I'm not going to buy these consoles at a launch..well I'll never buy an xbone likely.

They showed that it isn't a QTE fest; could you show me a link that explains how you "can't lose?"

Not to me, it's easily the strongest of them all with Killer Instinct, DR3 and Forza. If those aren't your cup of tea it's a lot weaker, but those are all pretty varied experiences right out of the gate. Sony's offering is disappointing to me, Knack just does not look good at all and I am unable to care about Killzone. Especially against CoD and Battlefield. Infamous not being launch shot the chances of me getting it this year.

Titanfall isn't a launch game? Damn, wtf man.
They showed that it isn't a QTE fest; could you show me a link that explains how you "can't lose?"

There was a guy for Kotaku or one of those sites who played it and said he didn't hit the buttons for the QTE, and his character still performed all of the moves... without him pressing anything.

I'm moderately interested in Dead Rising 3, but KI is the only game that excites me at launch from either platform (besides Watch Dogs).

It's sad for me that this does not bridge the gap between PS4 and XB1. I'll still be getting a PS4 over the XB1 at launch.

I’m on the battlefield. I’m stomping through the corpses of my comrades swinging my sword at anything that moves. I begin a combo, I slash twice and then whooom slow motion is initiated, shit is about to get ‘cinematic’. A button prompt hovers elusively above the sword I’m about to drive into the throat of my enemy… argh I’m too slow! The prompt flickers, disappears.

I missed it. Damn.

But then somehow, for some reason, I still complete the cinematic ‘kill’.

What?

Maybe it’s a bug I think, but no. Next time I deliberately press the wrong button. The kill goes ahead, no consequences. Then I try hitting no buttons whatsoever. The kill goes ahead. I put the controller on the table in front of me, the kill goes ahead.

What is going on here?

I ask one of the Crytek people hovering at the booth – is this a bug? Why am I completing kills when I hit the wrong button prompt? Or, worse, no button at all. Turns out it was a deliberate design choice.

“We don’t want the player to feel frustrated,” I am told.

Sorry, its just what I read. Not trying to bash the game.

If not for Battlefield 4, I wouldn't be buying either one yet. Both lineups are pretty weak and don't start to get interesting until mid to late 2014.

Rare isn't Rare anymore. Sad reality, but true. I would rather have MS continue with giving other devs a shot at re-creating Rare's great IPs. (Like a WayForward-developed Battletoads.)

Jason Graves is doing the soundtrack for Killer Instinct 3, and Beanland will act as the supervisor for the Music Direction.

If you're seriously going to say that UMvC3 has a "fully featured single player experience.", then...ok?

both PS4 and Xbone have lacklustre exclusives at launch IMO.

I'm getting PS4 at launch, but I will probably be getting 3rd party games for a while.

FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, maybe Assassins Creed 4.

I think both consoles have terrible launch games. But even if they didn't I'd wait a little to see how this DRM thing plays out.

Neither consoles current launch lineup is that exciting and none of the exclusives interest me all that much. My PS4 will probably have Watch Dogs and nothing else at launch unless some of the not yet announced games are both really interesting and coming for launch.
