Does anyone else in Xbox One has a horrible launch lineup?

Unless you're a big Killzone fan, the PS4's launch lineup is pretty weak too.

I'm a fan of the Dead Rising franchise, and if DR3 was as silly as the previous games I'd say the Xbox lineup would edge out the PS4's, but since DR3 is going in a direction I'm not interested in, for me overall both console lineups are about the same.

I might be in the minority but I vastly prefer PS4's launch 'window' lineup (Infamous, driveclub, Killzone, etc).

Why not X1 lineup for me?

Forza 5 - I have over $1k+invested into my wheel setup. Turn 10 / MS$ is dodging the question is my forza 4 official wheel supported. I've always been a Gran Turismo fan anyway (also have GT5 official wheel). PS4 is reported to support all of my wheels so thats a no-brainer.

Dead Rising 3 - looks awesome! But I hate zombies!!! Sure I'm playing LAst Of Us but thats only because I like Naughty Dog

Ryse - just not into the gore fest it look like it will be. Plus not a big fan of QTEs. Looks like a good game. Hope X1 fans will have fun!

For me, Killzone + Driveclub + Infamous is just much, much, much better by a long shot.

Btw, I'm a big fan of Infamous & Killzone games. Loved Killzone 3!!! Bring it!

Both line-ups aren't great for me. No RPGs :(

Also what is actually coming out in the first few months for both consoles? The Crew is all that comes to mind

This bummed me out too. RPGs are my go to genre, but there's still Gamescom and TGS for further announcements.

Personally I will be picking up the following for my X1

- Watchdogs
- Dead Rising 3
- AC 4
- Killer Instinct
- Ryse (if anyone bothered reading into it, its NOT a QTE fest..)

Ps4 launch lineup is even worse than the xbones (which is not that great) the xbone having the exclusive cod and bf4 content probrably puts it ahead in the multi plat stakes

SONY did show off allot of cool games but most wont be available until after next years e3 ...if ms stick to their launch targets on games they have shown they will probably have the better library until naughty dog show off what they are working on ...the last of us is a master piece

The main problem with the XB1 is not even the weak launch lineup, it's the fact that you know they can come back anytime with some DRM shit since that's apparently their plan from the start. Milking their consumers a bit more every day. That's hardly reassuring.

And even if you naively think they won't fuck you again (ah ah), it's still 100 $ more for a less powerful machine that forces Kinect to be connected permanently and gives you less value in your online subscription.

Then you add you know they won't support the system with exclusives after a few years, unlike their competitor (since after all, that's what they did with the 360), and it's hard to find a good reason to buy one. At least not as your main console.

Wait... I'm picking up The Last of Us tomorrow but I've been avoiding the threads on it... it's really a QTE fest?? I f'ing hate QTEs, I've never even touched the GoW series.

Not a QTE Fest, but the way people are exaggerating Ryse as a QTE fest im using The Last of Us as an example.
As more people will have actually played The Last of Us and GoW as an example.

Ryse uses QTEs for executions, beyond that it has a combat engine, it might not be the greatest combat engine, but its not a game filled with just QTEs heck as far as i know you dont even have to do the executions.

P.S To those who havent seen any QTEs in The Last of Us let a clicker catch you.
P.P.S Assuming you have a shiv in hand.

This has to be one of the silliest "Im not buying an Xbone" reasons ive seen so far.

They could apply DRM?
Sony could apply DRM are you going to skip the PS4 aswell, because they could possibly apply a new DRM policy???

Come on, they just abandoned their shitty plans a few days ago... And only because XB1 was dead on arrival otherwise. Let's thank Sony for that.

Wake me up when Sony does half the anti consumer things MS has done.

Honestly its the third party stuff thats the most interesting for both, the two big ones for each that I'm most interested in are titanfall and infamous and neither one is a launch game.

Sony does have more indie stuff to spread out the release schedule though

Jesus man. This thread is about the Xbox One launch lineup, not a thread to try to convince others not to buy one based on speculation. There needs to be a consolidated thread for people to spew this nonsense instead of shitting on every other one.

I'd be a bit considered about BF 4 on Xbox. The demo they showed at MS's e3 conference was not running on Xbox One hardware but actually on a PC and if Cboat's rumors about ram issue and downclocked GPU are true it sounds like multiplats in general will be better on PS4.

I disagree. I hate everything about the Xbox One, but the launch games appeal to me way more. Dead Rising 3 looks great, and anyone who played Killer Instinct said it was great (and now that the DRM is gone, its tournament viable). The PS4 immediate launch lineup is meh, even though I like what they've been doing business-wise. So I'm just going to wait a bit before jumping into next gen.

The launch lineup isn't particularly exciting, but the same could be said of many launches. If Witness doesn't make it, I'm not sure what to get for PS4. Killzone? Not really a fan. The same goes for the One if Below isn't there day one. Maybe Ryse will improve or there's some unannounced Arcade title coming..

not a fan of either launch line up. I went to amazon to reserve a ps4 bundle and realized I could'nt find a game I wanted. Going to get it after Infamous drops.

It's a very good line up but it's not appealing to me :

This is how I feel too. I can't argue that the line-up is objectively bad, but nothing appeals except Project Spark. I'm getting a PS4 and I'm interested in Destiny and (oddly) Killzone - although I haven't yet played KZ anywhere. I got into Infamous late but really liked it, so Second Son is a day one buy for me.

My girlfriend and I are both psyched about The Witness. For multiplatforms, Watch_Dogs looks more like Sleeping Dogs than GTA, which is definitely good as far as I'm concerned. Sleeping Dogs is just more interesting. Bethesda seems to be warming up to PS4 as a platform, which is a relief - but for the love of all that is holy, they NEED to ditch that damned Gamebryo engine. I want to climb ladders and I want combat that feels solid.

I just feel that Sony takes more chances with their IP than does Microsoft - and that's weird because the OG Xbox had a LOT of great games (I STILL miss a snowboarding game that was as good as Amped and a rally game as good as Rallisport Challenge 1 & 2 were).

360 had Kameo and Perfect dark. Why are they launching without any major launch titles or strong exclusives?

yeah the Xbox One launch lineup sucks and Microsoft should be asha....wait wtf?

Did you point out Kameo and PDZ as 360 launch highlights?

360 had PGR3, CoD and that was really it.

I owned PDZ and Kameo and they were garbage overall.

Xbox One has Forza 5 so, good in my book.

Kameo is a great game

I still think it's a better line-up than the PS4. Not a big fan of Killzone and Knack looks like a sub-$40 game. Forza also looks to be more fun than Driveclub. IMO the Xbox One will be the better system this year and in 2014 but 2015 and beyond the PS4 is likely to take the crown. I think like the PS3 a lot of the big ones will get delayed. Still, Sony on average has the better studios. Plus some of the services like Gaikai won't be rolling out this year.

Is Quantum Break launch?
I don't think so.

But if I was to buy at launch, which I'm not, I'd probably be happy enough with Forza 5, BF4 and Watch Dogs. Seems to cover my main staples of racers, shooters and adventure games. I'd maybe grab AC4 on Xbone too, unless it's markedly superior on PS4, just because I'm kind of anal about keeping things on one platform, and I have the saga up until now on 360.

Both systems launch line-ups look pretty bad IMO. They seem to frontloaded with "the world is brown" games and don't have much variety of games (Knack being the exception but that's tenuous at best). Watch_Dogs & ACIV look OK, but I wouldn't buy a system for either of those games. Killzone: Shadowfall I'll wait on and Dead Rising 3 I have to see more of the actual game. If Infamous: Second Son was a launch game, I would get a PS4 day 1.

do you think they will be significantly better?

Probably not significantly. They will have added exclusive content (about 60 min worth) and I'm sure they are better optimized for the platform. The PS4 from what I understand has more RAM available for games and is somewhat more powerful spec wise so i'm sure that will help. It will be similar to how multiplats this gen tended to be better on 360.

I think both systems have a similarly weak launch lineup, honestly. For me on my PS4 it'll be watch dogs, which is likely to be next gen-ISH.. and.. not sure what else yet. KZ games are kinda boring for me.

For Xbone, DR3 looks great, and they also ahve Watch Dogs. So dare I say they may have the better launch lineup.

only reason im giving ps4 a slight edge is because they are changing up Killzone into more of a goldeneye type game where you have multiple objectives per mission and you can use gadgets. I didnt like the old ones but it seems like there trying to give this game a big shakeup plus graphically it looks beautiful. Knack looks horrible but some of the gameplay vaguely reminded me Crash Bandicoot so it's perked my interests. Otherwise yea its just as terrible.

If the online stability is better on the Xbox One (along with ease of use) that is where I will be getting my multi-plat games again. It also seems like Microsoft is committed to dedicated servers and pushing the cloud.

But wasn't that because PS3 was extremely difficult to work with?

Did not hear that these games(AC4, Watch_Dogs) would have exclusive content on ps4!?

There's no way in hell after tucking their tail between their legs and running for the hills in front of an onslaught of consumer+media fury as well intense competition from Sony that they're going to go back and out of the blue implement the same shit again in a couple years.

It's not coming back this gen.

The PS4 will have some exclusive content for some games while the Xbox One will have it on others. I doubt we will see a significant difference in performance, the exclusives will showcase each system's strengths better.

Both systems are pretty comparable launch wise. Forza looks nice, but if I wanted to play a sim racer with nice textures and lighting I'd just play Project Cars. DR3 looks OK, but I was never a fan of the previous games and it's looking pretty rough at the moment. Fighting games aren't my thing (I'd play KI for an hour and move onto something else) and Ryse just looks like a pretty graphical showcase with no substance, which is expected given it's Crytek. I loved KZ2 MP and supposedly the same guy is working on the new game, so that's promising. Driveclub I can try out free with PS+, and there are going to be several F2P games coming out around launch on PS4 (excited to try out PS2). Oh, and Infamous looks sick and will be mine day 1, even though it's not coming out at launch. Multiplats should be better on PS4 as well so that will be nice. Overall, with the $100 price difference and power advantage the choice is pretty easy for me. There's going to be plenty of next-gen goodness to play in the months after launch (and hopefully more unannounced).

I'm still waiting for the 20 launch games sony promised. Please don't disappoint.

They didn't promise 20 launch titles, they promised 20 1st party titles in the first year.
