When I was young I hated him as I was expecting the Space World "realistic Link" from the Gamecube Zelda. Now I find him absolutely adorable.

He is the only Link that failed! He failed to save Hyrule, the King was forced to wish the entire land away.
He got knocked around by Ganondorf 3 times. 1st time when he failed in rescuing Ariel, 2nd time when he used the blunt Master Sword and lastly when Ganondorf beat the shit out of him.
Another negative part about him is that he looks more like a Kokiri than a Hyrulian. Explains why the Koroks are in WW instead of the Kokiri since they would look too much like WW Link.
Worst Link and he should stay in the handheld arena or just disappear like a bad memory.

I liked Link's design in WW, however it does get on my nerves that they used that same design several times after. The DS games are one thing being so closely related, but then FSA and Minish Cap? That didn't make sense to me.

Young OoT Link looked so much like a Kokiri that he lived with them and they didn't notice! Koroks are in WW because evolution from Kokiri, like the Rito are evolved Zoras.

Honestly, I think OOT Link might be the worst. Young and Adult. Even at the time, the concept art felt generic and too conventional. I much preferred the more stylized (more anime?) style of the previous Links. And I'm talking strictly concept art. I think Link looked fine in the game itself.
I have some of the same critiques about Twilight Princess Link, but that one at least had the cheesey bad boy thing going on. It was corny, but they pulled it off, and it stands out as unique to the series.

best link, by far. endearing design and some actual personality. i also love how WW link actually wasn't the chosen hero at first. he was just fighting to save his sister, and was eventually recognized and deemed worthy by the gods for his efforts. i find that a lot more impressive than him just being destined to save the day.

On the other side of the tracks would be good. The sages with TRAINS FOR ASSES can officiate.
I WILL give him credit that he does have more personality and is more expressive than Adult Link/Young Link....but damn dawg...that design. My eyes just can't get past it. Pile that on top of my dislike of chibi styled characters and that pretty much is the reason why I don't like him.
Didn't have a problem with Tetra/Zelda or anyone else in his games though.

I downloaded the demo to WoFF and because of the chibi characters I just couldn't get into it. Harsh I know...the game is probably really damn good and I'm definitely not taking that away from it if it is...but them characters mayne..

??!?!??! What? WW Link is in the Adult Era where there was no Link left over thanks to time travel. How is it not his fault when at the end, Ganondorf took the Trifoce and then the King had to make the wish to bury Hyrule? If WW Link kept his piece maybe there wouldn't be any risk and Hyrule could have came back to land where it was desperately needed since there are about 12 islands that are inhabitable.
Snake wouldn't have been caught by that dumb bird and been tossed like the trash he is to Windfall Island on Ganondorf's orders.
WW Link still had to have Tetra save him and forced to reveal herself as Zelda to Ganondorf which put her in danger. Valoo had to come and save his ass.
Lies about what? WW Link got punched 3 times and knocked out and then tossed aside again for his piece of the Triforce.
The point I'm making about the Kokiris is that they could have been in the game if Nintendo/Director wanted them in but they would have looked like Toon Link too much so they settled for the Koroks.
I will continue to slander this awful Link forever!

I'm the opposite, I like toon link more than young link.
Young Link is garbage. Burn all records of him imo.
If we're talking about GOAT Link:
I love Toon Link, but yeah this is probably my favorite Link!

Ocarina of Time Link is still the Link I think of when I think of "Link" though. It's just the default design in my head.
But Toon Link comes close. And he's a great Smash Bros character.
