Does anyone else really DIG over the top bad voice acting?

Agreed. The horrible voice acting was half of the charm in the series. It truly added to the B-movie atmosphere, IMHO. HOTD 3 and 4 certainly have better voice acting than 1 and 2, but the cheese factor is still there, for sho. :)

Anyways, going back to the Audio Atrocities link mentioned earlier, I'm suprised about how the original Time Crisis had horrible voice acting.

Maybe it's 20/20 vision, having played the game to death on my PlayStation back in the day, but it makes more sense now to see Richard Miller take a Gordon Freeman Vow of Silence (TM) with the laughable lines in that game. :lol

The thing is that the voice acting is not to win the next big awards, but rather to entertain gamers. For that regard, some seemingly bad voice acting/script are very goofy and hilarious while there is no chance that it'll be critically successful. I have no complain with those types.

Also, Resident Evil and Silent Hill 1 are largely the reasons why I came to love bad voice acting.

I was a bit saddened at first to discover that RE4 actually had good voice acting, but thankfully the super cheesy lines made up for it, so it's word at least a mention. it's like Capcom had it all set up, but ended up with good voice actors by mistake.
Yeah RE4 had some funny lines in there. My brothers friend took it to Frisco though to college, it definitely would've been more funny with cheesy acting

"Idunwannadiiiiiieeeeeee"........... "My God"

HotD2 is amazing.

"Dogs of the AMS... Time they made a move."

SEGA in general rocks bad dubs like no one's business.
Space Channel 5: "I must dipose of these PEONS who spread TRUTH like DISEASE!"
Crazy Taxi: "Whooaa, you're getting a fat tip for that one!"
Shenmue: "HEYYYYYY BROOOOOOOO!"
Yakuza: "**** **** ****
"
I need to set up my Dreamcast and play Shemnue NOW!! :lol Ryu cracked me up. "Ahhh It's just a box" :lol Good times:D

Edit: Whoa as I was looking for a funny Ryo clip I came across this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE2smkBf5kg an early build of Shenmue for Saturn 0_o

Heeeeeeeey Brooooooooo! :lol Shenmue still rules.

I love it too. The voice acting in the original Resident Evil and Symphony Of The Night are my faves... "YOU STEEEAL MEN'S SOULS!!!"

It's "suffer like G did?" not "suffer like G did." The line was intonated as though it was a question, which is what makes it so hilarious.

"Sirrrr... Gollldddd...!!!"

Old SNK games had a ton of funny mix-ups and bad voice acting.

- In SS4 (maybe 1-3 as well), the screen would say 'VICTOLY' in blood red letters after you KO-ed someone.

- 'AWRU READY' & 'Hey comon comon' & 'Bustaaaaa Wuulf' and that's only one character of KoF.

- Rawket Lawnchair anyone? Metal Slug also lovely soundbites.

I think my favorite horrible voice acting moment was watching my roomate play Mega Man X 7, and he got the token fire guy, Flame Hyenard. So anyway in X7 all the bosses talk, and this guy was ridiculously annoying cause he would say "Burn!'" or "Burn to the ground!" in a high pitched voice whenever he shot you. The hilarious bit was he had an attack to split himself in three, but some lazy programmer didn't stop the binding of the sound to the attack, so it was non stop "BURN BURN TO THE GROUND BURN BURN BURN BURN BURN TO THE GROUND BURN BURN BURN BURN TO THE GROUND" for a good solid minute and a half.

Tenchu 1... :lol

The second game (on PSX), sadly, improved the voice acting just enough that it isn't awful anymore, but not enough that it's actually good, so it just ends up boring and dull... but the first game is great... :)

"I rike the way u tink!"

Tenchu's VA was laughably bad. Ayame sounded like a chain smoker.

Warhawk and Omega Boost on the PS1. Cracks me up every time. Omega Boost gets a bit of a pass being a Japan-derived game, but Warhawk is just awesome since it looks like they just recruited people from around the office to play the roles.

And Mr_Moogle, you made my day with the FF10 reference. The best.

Edit: Just looked on YouTube and found the Japanese one. I've never heard this part in Japanese, but I nearly fell out of my chair when he started laughing. :lol

Even though "Suffer like G did?" might be the worst, the first line that came to mind when I saw this thread was "Dogs of the AMS." I'm glad someone posted it (and was shocked it wasn't on that audio atrocities site). Hilarious :)

(EDIT: No, help ME!)

The thing I love about this clip is that arguably the most heartfelt, human-sounding lines is the gruding "OK" the guy gives in response to giving the other character his vacation a week early. That's just funny.

Wow. I'm on the floor here... I just listened to another Deep Fear clip and it's awful. The acting is no better or worse than any of the other games here, but the voice is ridiculously bad.

since someone allready mentiones "HEEEEEEY BROOOO!!"

GAME OVER YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I have always enjoyed the moderately campy Musou voices.
Lunar voice cheese was also awesome.
Metal gear as well, yes thats right, its cheesy.

All of these games have intentional camp however.
