Does anyone sleep with their window blinds open?

I often see in movies and tv shows characters sleep with their window blinds open and in the morning there is allways some peacefull wake up scene with the sun hitting them in the face and lighting up the room.

If that was me the first thing I would do is close them as soon as possible to stop the light from burning my eyeballs.

Does anyone actually do this or is it just a movie thing to create a better looking scene?

Someone's got to look after the perverts. Poor fellows, to think how many spend an evening creeping through gardens and back-alleys...only to be met with closed drapes.

I do it a lot of nights just to have fresh air, I sleep better that way. Working days only, as I get up before sunrise and so the sun doesn't bother me.

I live in a
parents'
basement so I keep them open 24/7. It seriously makes no difference. No shit, right? I'm underground.

it feels good in the summer, nice cool air coming through and you get hit by sunlight, if you're annoyed by it turn the other way

In spain, we almost never do that. It bugged me that in the UK and Germany lots of times the windows don't have blinds (at least in residence or hotels). I would awake at 6:00 AM with the slightest amount of light, that's not cool :( .

I do that sometimes, I like to look outside at night while lying on the bed. That and I have to leave them open if I want some fresh air.

my room faces the street and people can see in easy. i dont sleep with the blinds open because it's too bright but i sometimes change with them open. i dont give a fuck.

Why are you secretly living in another parent's basement?

Moonlight is enough to keep me awake, so I close them. I sleep with my window open though for fresh air... been waking up colder and colder lately. Winter is coming :(

On the odd occasion where I have left the blinds open, I do wake slightly easier in the morning... I sleep deeper, and take longer to wake if the room is in total darkness.

I sleep like a fucking rock when its total darkness. The sunlight wakes me pretty much instantly, not to mention the heat.

I sleep with the blinds and windows open in the spring and autumn when the weather is nice. Waking up to the sunrise and birds chirping is serene.

I keep those blinds down. I hate sunlight in my eyes when I'm sleeping. Sunlight still manages to creep in from the sides.

I'm rarely in bed after the sun is up anyway, but no, I don't have any privacy except for the blinds and I don't want the neighbours checking me out sleeping in bed.

I do want to get some tinted windows so that in the daylight people can't see in and I can have the blinds fully open and scratch myself naked in front of the windows.

My window looks onto a tiny courtyard and I'm not on the sunny side, so I have my curtains open all the time. When I slept at my folks though the sun woke me up every day, which is a pain in the ass in summer.

I always sleep with my blinds open. I can see trees and there's a street lantarn outside my house so there's always a little bit of light going into my room. Sometimes it makes kickass shadows.

I can sleep under any circumstance, light or dark, hot or cold. Guess I'm lucky.

I sleep next to my window, so I leave a tiny bit of the curtains open so the light hits me directly on my face in the mornings. My window is also open 24/7 (even in winter) so I guess that's part of it too.

I don't even have blinds. I hate waking up in a completely dark tomb, makes me even more tired. Natural light helping you wake up gives you so much more energy.

I leave my window / curtains open whenever I'm at home. I like having a light breeze coming into my room at all times. In the mornings the sun shines onto my face, which helps me get up at a reasonable hour (probably helps regulate my circadian rhythm too).

blinds and window. gets way to hot. only trouble is intrusive animals. so far: barn owl, cats, some bats... others.
Screens will keep out... well, some bats I guess!

"Wrath of god" Aguirre?

i work 2nd shift. so it's 530am now and I haven't gone to bed yet. so the sun is always up when i'm going to bed.

Anyways, no, fuck no. In fact I have a dark curtain and then a small blanket over my window. Luckily it doesn't face east though. This is the greatest time of the year because it's dark until like 7am, until stupid daylight savings kicks in.
