Does anyone use the Game Notes feature of the 3DS?

I used it for Persona Q labyrinth puzzles and stroll quests where you needed to memorize things

Me too. It's especially handy when you're on transit and don't necessarily even have both hands free all the time. Also good for diagrams and non-textual notes, which Persona Q requires from time to time.

That said, Game Notes is a pretty awful implementation of a great idea. No screenshots, no text input if you want it, and only three ink colors. For anything remotely complicated, it's a huge mess.

I used it in Animal Crossing New Leaf to keep track of turnip sales and to keep track of what dialogue options got you certain hairstyles.

I haven't used it very much otherwise. Then again I haven't really bought that many 3DS games yet. I would imagine it would come in handy though.
I was the kind of person who'd use the notes section in manuals back in the day.

Oh, I do wish it actually took screenshots. It at least shows the screen, and I'm able to draw a makeshift screenshot (which might be more fun, but it's definitely less convenient). Yeah, I think the 3DS Game Notes could be a lot better.

I'm using it for Majora's Mask 3D atm. Probably the last time I used it was for OoT 3D.

It's nice not to have to remember to keep a scrap of paper with my 3ds or switch back and forth between devices.

I used it when OOT 3D came out, I drew a map of Hyrule field and marked the places where I would run into big poes. But never used it for anything else after that.

I seem to recall using it once or twice when the 3DS first came out. However when I got a Nexus 4 a few years back I haven't touched it. It truly does take longer to go to the home screen and back than it does to write something on my (now) Nexus 5.

I've never remembered this is even a thing mid-game. Not sure when I would have used it either. I have a decent memory and low tolerance for drawing maps

Agreed. I was surprised by the lack of text input. You could store more data with ascii than using a bitmap.

Just like the old user manuals' notes section, almost nobody use them.

I'd go to the grocery store with my mother when I was a kid. While she was shopping, I would be in the magazine section writing down all the cheat codes from Tips N Tricks magazine. Those cheat codes then would be written down on the memo parts of game manuals.
