Zyid: Look at the pics posted previously. He clearly uses guns (and kills), so your point is moot.
Ah I see now, I misinterpreted that panel - I thought the guy he was attacking was the guy in the panel where he fired the gun, and that the sound effect was the gun hitting the guy. My mistake.

I think any of the DKR "inconsistencies" work because he's older and has had to adapt. If he had difficulty climbing ropes and had to use the shadows to make those robber guys basically get themselves captured, it only makes sense that he's not as sharp as he used to be with certain tactics. Plus, I can understand it from a "you know what? I'm sick of these punk kids, here's a taste of their own medicine" viewpoint too.

You kinda see this take place in the first episode of Batman Beyond...seeing how desperate he became due to his age and slowing physical abilities. And it's that moment that forces him to quit being Batman for good. It's an extremely effective scene, as good as any from that run of animated shows.

does batman go out in the daytime? I don't think thats any of your goddamn business. Batman does as he pleases.

I am justice, I am vengeance , I am night, I am BATMAN!

The only way I justify that scene is that he didn't kill the mutant. Murder's only added to the list of charges after
the Joker dies
. And about him wrestling with putting on the costume one moment and not the next is the book treats the Batman spirit like a demon taking over him. I can't even use the "it's like riding a bike" analogy, because as sloppy he's had to become because of his age, he can pretty much do his job with a blindfold on. Also, the book kind of throws his aging in your face whenever Bats comments on his uselessness. There could've been numerous ways for him to disarm that mutant and save the baby, but he'd have to be swift and quick, two things that he isn't anymore (as proven by the first fight with the mutant leader).

Well, he didn't kill him and he couldn't have just let the infant die. What would you do, ninja master? >;P
Uhh? He did kill him. In the comic its <Brakka>, guy drops girl, guy falls to floor dead. There's simply no way of twisting this simple fact :/
