Does Halo 5 have the best multiplayer launch ever?

After seeing the state of a lot of online games, the fact that I was able to jump on at peak time on release day and play 24 player Warzone games with people from the other side of the Atlantic with no lag or connection issues on my university connection is borderline wizardry to me.

It had a couple hours with REQ servers offline the other day. People couldn't redeem REQ packs and they couldn't use REQ cards in Warzone.

Extremely impressed with the launch, but it's more or less in line with other successful launches.

My friends and I were talking about this early. Our standards have taken a big hit this gen with multiple games online multiplayer not working at launch.

Um, not confirmed at all. As you can see in most posts, most people are not seeing an issue. The game definitely has a tighter sweet spot, by design and that could be something some people are having a hard time adjusting to. So we're not confirming it, we're looking into it to make sure there isn't some weird edge case because we're working diligently to ensure this launch is as smooth as possible. Please change that URL string if you can because a lot of posters won't even read the story and start repeating this as gospel.

a halo game working out of the box is a pretty big achievement

its called the master chief collection effect
Did you play Halo 4? Aside from TMCC, what Halo game has ever had a horrible launch? It's dumb people think Halo 5 would have any of the issues TMCC had. They are completely different circumstances and I pity the people who legitimately worried about Halo 5's launch solely because of TMCC.

They need to change the way they kick you from the server instantly if you encounter some sort of lag. I get disconnected all the time because my internet connection is unstable. Had so many good matches end abruptly because it that. :(

Please check if it's possible to allow us to change aim acceleration and sensitivity while zoomed it, it's too fast.

Yeah, I read through that thread shortly after it was posted and was confused as there was no such confirmation from 343i at all. Aiming in Halo 5 is great and I seriously hope it doesn't get changed.

On topic, Halo 5 has had a damn good launch. I've only experienced a few minor hiccups, for example the REQ part taking a while to load.
Overall though I'm stoked!

There's lots of "this is what it should be like" posts.

But honestly, between needs for balancing, network fixes, and possible technical issues, seems unreasonable to expect it to be perfect out the gate in many ways.

It's be like expecting any given fighting game to be perfect on launch. Clearly changes will be needed after launch, no matter how well tested it is.

I atleast expect to be able to play a few games without getting disconnected from the match, again.

Tonight I wanted to play some Halo after I couldn't this weekend. Played some campaign and now unto the multiplayer. And you guessed it, first match was fine the second match however disconnected me before we reached halftime. To make it even worse, if you used an XP boost for a match and get disconnected you'll lose the booster.

This is not fun, and far from perfect or what should be expected from a major game launch.

Edit: And yep the third match as well. Screw this. I can't keep playing like this.

I think it's a bigger issue than you want to admit. I still think Aiming in Halo 5 is weird and not in a good way. It has issues maybe not for everyone but even just from that thread there's a decent amount of people that have issues with it.
