There's a monster made of smoke, then there's a bunch of time travel, people leave the island then they come back, then we find out the smoke monster is actually an evil man in black who is also the ghost of Jack's dad, who cannot leave the island, except for the times we see him not on the island, and he is locked in conflict with a man called Jacob. Then Jim Robinson from Neighbours turns up with a plan fix everything which involves electrocuting a scottish bloke and firing mortars at another group of people on the island. Then they find out that their destiny is to unplug a cork in a mystical pool of light but then realise that was bad, so Jack plugs it back in and dies and meets everyone in a wishy-washy all-religions-are-right heaven.

The end.

Oh Jack goes to Thailand and gets a cool tattoo at some point too

That's how I remember it going down anyway.

I'm on the first season, episode 9, and while it's interesting, I feel like a lot of things in the show are kinda dumb.

Like some guy with glasses just showed up like he's been there the whole time, but I haven't seen him at all.

I keeps raising a bunch of questions but it feels like the questions are done to make more plot points.

Some of the characters are absolutely insufferable.

Should I keep watching?

If you aren't enjoying the first season, you won't enjoy the show. More questions are raised than answered, so you should just watch it for the journey.

The man in black can appear as dead people as long as the body is on the island. He showed up as jack's dad to fuck with him. The man in black cannot leave the island so when jack sees his dad off island it is simply because he is stressed out and hallucinating.

But uh, Hurley told him that he was going to get a visitor. So how could that be a hallucination? That and the obvious thing of the smoke detector going off. Also the monster used the body of Richard's wife despite her never even being on the island.

I really enjoyed lost but it felt manipulative. Just a series of cliff hangers that seem to intentionally steer you in the wrong direction.
